Bear’s cry shattered the night like thunder on glass. “Captain overboard! We’re adrift!” His voice rolled across the black, treacherous waters, echoing off waves that knew no mercy.
He scanned the churning dark, but found only a single sign— a purple ribbon, dancing on the tide like a ghost’s whisper. Silas would never part with it willingly. Something had happened. Something unspeakable.
“Captain!” Bear roared again, his voice raw with desperation. Soon others joined him, their calls rising: “Captain? Captain!” But the sea gave no answer. No hand broke the surface. No breath gasped for air. Only silence, and the cruel rhythm of the waves.
The crew shouted until their throats bled salt. They turned the Stromcrow, circling like mourners around a grave, refusing to believe the sea had swallowed their soul.
Bjorn was the first to voice the shadow in their hearts. “It must be his broken heart,” he murmured defeated. But his words were met with fury— a fist raised, a jaw targeted. “How dare you!” the other spat. “He would never abandon us!”
Bjorn lifted his hands, not in defense, but in surrender. “I didn’t mean he failed us,” he said, his voice trembling like a sail in storm. “I meant… we all saw what happened. Even the strongest hearts can crack.”
Bear stepped between them, his presence like iron in the wind. “Enough,” he commanded. “We’ve sailed too long together to forget— the sea does not ask. When it takes, it takes with purpose.”
And so they stood, men carved from salt and sorrow, staring into the abyss, where the ribbon floated like a final prayer.
A few weeks prior in the captainshall
The captain’s hall lay steeped in silence, the kind that settles only after the day has exhaled its last breath. Outside, the sea whispered lullabies to sleeping slaves, but within, two men sat cloaked in flickering candlelight, faces half-lit, half-shadowed—like truths not yet spoken.
“This one is rare,” the host murmured, his voice smooth as velvet, as he poured the wine with reverence, as if it were blood drawn from memory. “I know you’re no lover of wine,” he said, “but this… this is different. It tastes like a delicate slave— seductive, playful, a tease that dances on your tongue, then strikes with a kiss that leaves you aching for more.”
He smiled, but it was a smile carved from old stone. The jest hung in the air, a veil over something darker.
In the hush between words, the man with too many names leaned back, his eyes reflecting the candle’s flame like twin secrets. “I heard you met Snow,” he said, and with those words, his voice changed— deeper, colder, stripped of the charm that had played the part of captain.
Portus Stromberg (brett.pennent): Noted the change in his friend and looked concerned…”Yes Niahm was noticed by him in Turmus and invited us to his home…that they knew each other was obvious”
“Yes,” he said, voice low and measured, “They know each other well. Just as she knows me… intimately.” He let the final word linger, like smoke curling from a candle’s flame.
Then, with a quiet breath that felt like a shift in wind, he added, “I wonder how long she’s known that I was the man she once called Crow.”
His gaze sharpened, cutting through the candlelight like a blade through silk. It wasn’t suspicion—it was calculation. He studied Portus not with curiosity, but with the precision of a man who had worn too many masks and knew the cost of each one.
Portus Stromberg (brett.pennent): “I knew Crow a little back in Torvaldsburg and I never enquired too deeply of him and was quite prepared to take him on face value”….looks through the dim light to the man standing before him….”never once did she indicate that you were he….her past remained that…the past bothr for her safety and my own though it was never explicitly stated”
He grinned, the kind of grin that didn’t reach the eyes— a blade hidden in velvet. Lifting the glass with deliberate grace, he let the wine catch the candlelight, a crimson swirl of temptation and threat.
“Your mate,” he began, voice smooth as aged silk, “is far more than the naive girl you once collared. Axlan was wise— wise to keep her breathing, wise to deny her return to the man who claimed her like property. And his warning to you?” He paused, letting the words settle like ash. “Keep her past buried. Let it rot where it lies.”
He took a sip, slow and reverent, as if tasting prophecy. The wine danced in his glass, a silent witness to the storm brewing between them.
Then he leaned forward, eyes gleaming with something ancient and cold. “This conversation,” he said, “will end with one of us owning the company— and the other, his demise.”
Portus Stromberg (brett.pennent): looks at him and feels the chill run through his body knowing that in front of him stood an accomplished fighter…a man with many contacts….charming when needed…”my friend I hope i have not caused you alarm so that you feel my demise is necessary…i can assure you her past has been left there and i have no desire to learn it”
He lowered his gaze when the word friend was spoken— not out of shame, but out of memory. In the shadowed caste of assassins, friendship was a relic, a fragile thing buried beneath steel and silence. Most who called him brother wore the same mark, but few outside the caste ever dared to touch the part of him that bled.
“This isn’t your demise, my friend,” he said, and for the first time in years, his voice held warmth— not the heat of fire, but the glow of a hearth long cold.
He straightened, the candlelight catching the edge of his jaw, revealing not the assassin, but the man who still loved his Home Stone, who still believed in honor, even when the world had taught him to kill.
“It is the demise,” he continued, “of your good friend, your partner, the captain of the Stormcrow— Silas Drake.”
The name hung in the air like a funeral bell, and the silence that followed was not empty, but sacred.
Portus Stromberg (brett.pennent): could not bring himself to speak….there were many unanswered questions racing through the mind and the principle question being why…..”are you in any kind of trouble? is there no other option?”…the words spoken with the realisation that there was something more behind this….something deeper
He swirled the wine in his cup, watching the crimson cling to the glass like old blood. The question hung in the air, gentle but persistent—like a hand on the shoulder that wouldn’t let go.
He shook his head slowly, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Not trouble in the way you might think,” he said, voice low and steady. “As a man of the caste of assassins… I suppose I am trouble. Living it. Breathing it.”
He paused, the silence stretching just long enough to feel sacred. “But I hope you’ll listen. It’s a tale I’ve not told to many.”
A deep breath followed, drawn from somewhere beneath the armor he wore—not the steel kind, but the kind forged from years of silence and survival. Only a few knew the truth of him. Fewer still had earned the right to hear it.
And yet here he was, ready to speak it aloud to the one man who had become more than a comrade—his brother in all but blood.
“Take some wine,” he said, offering the bottle with a half-smile. “Just to humor me. This will take some time.”
Portus Stromberg (brett.pennent): returns the smile and relaxes some as i pour a good measure prepared to listen to the man who despite his recent revelation still counted among the closest and dearest…takes a sip of wine savouring it before looking back…..”I am all ears my friend”
: “I was born in Ar,” he began, voice steady but distant, as if the words were stepping out of a long-forgotten dream. “My father was a tarnsman, and so I followed. It was natural. I loved the beasts—wild, proud, untamed. I understood them. They understood me.”
He paused, letting the wine warm his throat before continuing. “In time, I mastered my steel. I was ambitious, young, and full of fire. I companioned a woman of my caste—strong, wise, beautiful. She bore me three children. We had a good life. Not perfect, but ours.”
His eyes darkened. “But always, there was the shadow of the Ubar I served. A man who thrived on chaos. His greed was a blade that cut through Ar, and many good men fell in his wake.”
The words slowed, thickening with memory. “One time, I returned from Ar’s Station. I knew something was wrong the moment I stepped through the gate. The air was too still. My house—plundered. I should have braced myself.”
He swallowed hard. “Our kettle slave lay dead in the hallway. Brutally murdered. But nothing—nothing—could have prepared me for what I found next.”
His voice cracked, barely audible now. “She was there. The woman I loved more than life. Her clothes torn. Her body… marked by her resistance. Covered in blood. Taken from me in violence.”
He turned his face from the light, as if even the flicker of a candle might expose the tear he refused to shed. Even now, after all these years, the wound had not closed. It had simply learned to live beneath the surface.
“I never lost it,” he said, voice low and hollow, “but in that moment… I lost everything. Even the will to live.” A confession that, for any Gorean man, was as unthinkable as surrender.
His eyes burned with memory. “In rage, I stormed the palace. I stood before the Ubar, demanding justice for her death— for the blood spilled in his name, for the ruin he left in the streets of Ar.”
But the Ubar did not flinch. He did not listen. He waved me away like filth, a maggot crawling across his marble floor.
“I threw my insignia at his feet,” he continued, his voice now a blade. “I spat in his face. And I walked out of that palace no longer a servant— but a man untethered.”
Outside, the wind had shifted. And in its wake stood a figure, silent, watching. Perhaps he had watched for years. Perhaps he had waited for this exact moment.
“That man was Scar,” he said, “and he did not offer comfort. He offered purpose. He recruited me into the caste of Assassins.”
And so, Melchior Wardell died that day— not by blade, but by choice.
From his ashes rose Crow. A name not born, but forged. A shadow with steel in his veins and silence in his soul.
Portus Stromberg (brett.pennent): The tale hits hard as I think how such an action would have on my family situation….the reasons for his path and demeanour clearer now and also the pain of the loss of Belle bringing back so many painful memories….”and what of the children…please say they were spared”
The question cut him—not like a blade, but like a memory too sharp to forget. “I lost my two boys,” he said, his voice cracking under the weight of ghosts. “My daughter Rose… she was taken. I met her only when she was grown. By then, I was no longer a father— just a man in livery, trained to sever ties, to forget blood for steel.”
He straightened, not with pride, but with the discipline of a man who had learned to survive by burying his heart.
“Your mate,” he said slowly, “Raven… I knew her. She belonged to Scar. But she was never just a possession. She was warmth— the only ember in a compound built of frost and fury.”
He paused, eyes distant. “She taught Snow and me more than any blade. Only one in ten survived the compound.”
Portus Stromberg (brett.pennent): “I do not comprehend how you managed to endure such a terrible loss as I can only think how much i would suffer losing Niahm let alone Caspian or Elodi”…….gives a puzzled look…”but why the need for the Demise of Silas…I can understand the need to hide away under the guise of Silas but why do you need to die?”
He poured the red liquid with practiced ease, the flask catching the light like a relic of old sins. The question hung in the air, reasonable, but heavy. He met it with a quiet nod.
“I won’t bore you with the contracts,” he said, “nor the names of those I served… or ended.” His voice was calm, but beneath it lay the echo of steel.
“The captain of the Stormcrow—he was a mark. Port Kar, as you know, is ruled by its council of captains. My client wanted to ensure he never claimed a seat at that table. And so, I became Silas Drake. A deckhand. A shadow among salt and sail. I climbed the ranks, earned the crew’s trust, and when the time came— I ended the contract. But something strange happened,” he chuckled, a sound more bitter than amused. “They didn’t question me. They didn’t ask where their captain had gone. They asked me to take his place.”
Silas Drake lived longer than intended. Longer than the contract required. Long enough to become real.
But his purpose is done,” he said, his gaze steady, his voice now that of Crow once more.
He looked to the man beside him— not as a mark, not as a mission, but as a friend.
“You’re capable of holding this on your own,” he said, and in that moment, it was not just a passing of responsibility— it was a passing of truth
Portus Stromberg (brett.pennent): nods in agreement…somewhat understanding the current situation…..”So where are you headed now….i ask not if you are one again contracted but where your futures lies if not here among us….for you have become family…indeed but for that unfortunate incident which need not be mentioned we would be brothers now”
He drained his glass, the wine warm in his chest, a gentle haze settling over the edges of his vision. For once, he allowed himself to loosen the grip— to speak not as Crow, but as the man who had once dreamed of peace.
“I will return to my first love, Portus,” he said, his voice softer now, as if the words themselves were sacred. “To Ar… as it rises from its ashes.”
He leaned forward, the candlelight painting his face in gold and shadow. “I’ve made arrangements. I will walk its streets again— not as assassin, but as scribe.”
The name he chose was not his own. “Trajan Cernus,” he whispered, a mask carved from lineage and anonymity. “He was schooled, raised in quiet halls. If kin pass me by, they will not see me. They will see a scholar. A man of ink and parchment.”
But beneath that disguise, a deeper purpose stirred.
“I’ve accepted a seat on the council,” he said, “Tribune to the lower castes. A voice for the forgotten. A sentinel against the cruelty that once shattered my home.”
He paused, his gaze steady on Portus, no longer veiled in secrecy.
“This is my vow,” he said, “a sacred promise I’ve never spoken aloud. Not to Snow. Not to Raven.”
Portus Stromberg (brett.pennent): listens carefully noting the sense of pride in his voice “far be it from me to deny a man his destiny but your council and guidance will be missed…..and I will miss a friend and companion with whom to share the finer things in life”….pours another glass of wine……”the company will go on in it’s operations of course but the loss of your presence will be felt keenly…is there no other way?”
Crow felt the heaviness of the words that were shared between friends. His mind as ever sharp as he of course had thought this through.
“The man Silas will find his grave in the thassa. When Bear comes to you with the news you will know that everything that is of the man Silas is yours. My gold, the exquisite wine collection and my girl.” he paused
“But you will gain a friend. A man with influence in Ar. A man that might persuade you to settle there too. To build that company with the talent and knowledge of your skill in the training of girls.” he would regard him now with a teasing gaze “Surely you will see the profit of such an arrangement.” he laughs
“The man Trajan a regular visitor as to ensure your interests are well represented in the council.” than his gaze turned a little dark “What do you think … can we trust Caspian and Elodi with the truth ?” as to Niamh he already knew he could give his life in her hands. She had kept it all this time.
Portus Stromberg (brett.pennent): “Caspian needs to mature a little as he reacts quickly to new situations and could reveal something in the heat of the moment and Elodi loves her uncle Silas as did her Aunt so i think it is a good idea to keep the truth of the matter between the three of us to lessen the risk of Trajan being discovered unduly”…takes another swallow of wine
He nodded, slow and solemn, as if sealing a pact not with words, but with the weight of memory.
“Then it will be done, my friend,” he said, his voice carrying the finality of a closing door. “I only hope Elodi’s heart does not shatter beneath it. After Belle… she has known enough ruin.”
He paused, and for a moment, Melchior stirred beneath the mask— the man who once wept, who once held children in his arms, who once believed in peace.
But Crow had no room for ghosts. He exhaled, and with it, let go of every objection that belonged to the man he used to be.
Then he turned, his gaze steady, his tone softened by the candle’s dying flame.
“Now,” he said, “this is the moment for your last questions, my dear friend. The farm will wake early, and I know its rhythm well.”
Outside, the wind whispered through the trees, and the stars blinked like old companions. Inside, two men sat in silence— not as assassin and ally, but as brothers on the edge of farewell.
Portus Stromberg (brett.pennent): “go in peace my brother….your secret will be kept and under the secrecy of your new identity i hope in time that our friendship continues in Ar although I am sure that although our interactions when others are present will be guarded we will both fully understand one another”
Crow would tip the glass to that of Portus as to seal the deal. Not a deal of the devil but one of the heavens. How both men defeated the cruelty of the gorean world. Challenged the codes of waht was considered true. A man that had murdered more men and women he could count and yet capable of forging bonds that would last a life time.
Crow did not speak. Words would only fracture the silence, and silence was sacred now.
Would step before the man he knew so well. And could not help but to open his arms as to beg for that brotherly embrace. Their embrace was not long, but it was deep. A communion of hearts, a farewell written not in ink, but in the press of ribs and breath.
When they parted, Crow’s eyes lingered— not on the face, but on the soul behind it.
“The purple ribbon,” he said, as if tasting the memory of it. “I will remember. Let it be a signal for communication. A sign that we have need for a moment like this.”
Then, without ceremony, he turned toward the door. The night was still, the farm quiet in its slumber, and the stars above bore witness to the closing of a chapter.
Portus Stromberg (brett.pennent): watches him leave a wistful expression over my face and I drain my glass and sits back and contemplates my future
[08:27] Crow (melchior.wardell) would dip his head “Forgive me for letting you wait.”
[08:30] Fʀᴀnzɪᴀ (redwinelovah) sensual strokes legs moved in a slow unison of the Master Crow’s as she followed. A blush stained her cheeks that illuminated her cheek a suble glow to an added little moment left in silent as she took her place nearside the two Masters then” Master may i get you wine?” as if she knew to ask, knowing Him with out fear. Her voice a sultry whisper of honeytones and her gaze drifted to Guru as well, if he would also wish to undertake with the allowance of the Killer in session.
[08:32] Guru (sagscor) stood in the tent, his expression steady, his thoughts focused as he awaited the moment when Crow would approach. The air around him seemed to hold a sense of anticipation, the quiet before the storm. His eyes briefly flickered toward Franzia, sensing the subtle energy she radiated, before returning to the ever-still figure of Crow. As Crow and Franzia drew closer, his posture didn’t shift, but his gaze sharpened with a quiet resolve. He gave them a nod of acknowledgment, a simple but respectful gesture to show he recognized their presence and the gravity of the moment. His voice, when it finally came, was clear and direct.
“Its not a bother at all. My intentions are clear, I seek your guidance on how to proceed. I understand the ways of the assassin are not taken lightly. So, tell me—what steps must I take to prove myself worthy of your teachings? What must I endure to walk the path you follow?” He paused, his gaze unwavering as he looked between Crow and Franzia, waiting for their response, for some sign that the journey he sought would indeed begin. His tone was not one of impatience but of quiet determination, fully aware of the rigor and challenge that would lie ahead. He nods to Franzia “If the man is in mood for one” he said with a smile.
[08:38] Crow (melchior.wardell) would give Franzia a gesture that she would need to step away and collect their wine. But than without warning he would try to attempt to hook the man to his left jaw. The strength considerable when one understood the physical fitness of Crow. In his craft such was essential. Very much depended on this very moment. Would he succeed and hit the man ? If he hit him what would the man do ? Every action had consequences and as Crow now knew the man needed something from him he held the upper hand.
He doubted the man would want to fight him. For such would already be a red flag. Since would a man truly get what he wanted by letting his emotions get the better of him?
Still Crow was no fool and would stand in the ready for what might come. As ever accepting what would come his way.
[08:40] Fʀᴀnzɪᴀ (redwinelovah) watched the gesture of he Master and turned away moving towards the place of safety…the hypnotic entice of hips that drew the eyes of men, distraction, torment in the very steps she took. The pathway taken she found the bar, grabbing with a reach over, was the one of the wine bottles, one not marked for death, but amused as it was perhaps even Master Dimitri’s brand. After all, she had seen it far and wide, even as far as Telnus. The bottle, two empty glasses and a damsel in motion was on the return, one hand held both glasses by the stem.
[08:45] Guru (sagscor) He gets hit in the face, he raised his hand up but it slides off his elbow and hits him afterall, he did not touch his face, but kept his gaze on Crow, his voice was low, steady, but filled with an unyielding determination as he addressed Crow. His words came with the weight of someone who had carefully thought about this path, someone who understood that seeking the training of an assassin was not simply a matter of skill, but of transformation. “I have come to understand that the path I seek is not one of mercy or ease.” He nodded once to Franzia, acknowledging her presence without distraction, but his full attention remained on Crow, awaiting the next instruction. “Must be a test”, he grins. His words hung in the air, carrying the promise of dedication and sacrifice. There was no arrogance in his tone—only the cold, hard clarity of a man ready to embrace the deadly art that Crow wielded with mastery. Ofcourse he was angry as he was hit, however he maintained his cool, as he was a seasoned warrior.
[08:51] Crow (melchior.wardell) had this natural carelessness about him and yet nothing was simply there. Things were calculated, addressed in his mind. As if he was in this movie that would be played before it truly happened. Weighing options and outcomes and to see which would benefit him most. So when he spoke of a test he simply nodded “Yes a first of many if you truly wish to walk the path. A path only one out of ten seems to overcome alive.” he stated matter of factually.
“Many think that being a killer is about being at the other end of the pointy thing and while that is true … it is about many other things too.” he shared cryptic. “I do not waste my time to those that feel themselves bigger than a simple slap in the face. Since that is the least they will have to face.”
He would now indicate Franzia to offer them both wine. “I can see you gave this thought. Tell me why it is that you came to me, now?”
[08:52] Fʀᴀnzɪᴀ (redwinelovah) stayed upon the safety lines. No need to throw herself to the mix of men at testing their back and forth, skills. She twitched to hear the connect of a fist to flesh, but seemingly moved with the same tenature of supple grace, affected. The cork of the bottle was popped by the soft of velvet lips and poured into one glass, then another with the tilt of the bottle only halfway filled in each. She placed the bottle off to the side then, using one hand to gather each glass by the stem. swirling one and bringing to her nose to smell its bouquet with a flush of delight to curb her senses. An indraw, and then a slighted taste to ensure its quality and flavor. Its safety and presentation. One glass, then another. Once they had had paused, she began to continue forward, lifting both hands to the rise, each to the Master’s in easy attainment, two in one. Bonds were efficient that way.
[08:59] Guru (sagscor) stood tall, his posture unwavering, as he absorbed Crow’s words with the same quiet determination he had shown since the beginning. The weight of the challenge ahead did not faze him; in fact, it only solidified his resolve. He knew the risks, the grim reality of the path that Crow described. A path where only the strongest survived, where many would not see the light of another day. But to him, the reward outweighed the cost. He met Crow’s gaze, his voice steady and unwavering. “I have come to you because I seek something beyond what the world offers on its surface,” he said, the words clear and deliberate. “I have seen the chaos of the world—wars, betrayals, the endless fight for power. The weak are prey, and the strong are often not strong enough. The Black Caste, you offer a different kind of strength. Not the kind that stands in the light for all to see, but the kind that works in the shadows, hidden and silent, striking where it matters most. “I am not here because I seek power, but because I seek purpose,” he continued, his voice low but resolute. “I wish to master the art of influence, of precision, of being unseen yet always present. To strike only when necessary, to move when the world is unaware. I do not seek glory, nor recognition. I seek the freedom that comes with true mastery—the freedom to control, to move unnoticed, to make an impact without ever being seen. I came to you, because you know what it means to be truly free in this world. I wish to walk that path. A path where silence is the most powerful weapon, and the ability to disappear is a strength.I understand the risk. But this is my choice. It is not about being the biggest or the most feared. It is about knowing when to act, how to act, and leaving nothing behind but the consequences.” he paused briefly, his mind settling into the silence of his words before adding, “I came because this is the only way I see to become who I am meant to be.”
[09:08] Crow (melchior.wardell) listens and it was with the true intent to hear. To hear what he said, how he said it and to weigh the intent of the words chosen. He needed many and yet only a few were already telling Crow what kind of man he faced. He didn’t reply immediately as again to measure, prod and reason before he would address him once more.
He would look to Franzia awaiting for her to serve them. The scent of the wine already drifting to him as to see if the scent gave him any recognition. His eyes would rest upon her briefly. Wondering if she had been in the know of the plans of this man.
He turned back “A long time ago .. when I threw my insignia to the Ubar of Ar … I was a man of principles. Perhaps even arrogant and very much aware of my talents. But when I faced my mentor and learned that the training is done in celibacy, without the pleasures female flesh, wine or tavern brawls … I had to think that over.”
He would now move his hand to attempt to lift Franzia’s chin to the man. If she allowed him he was sure that if the man would look – he could see the promises of her lips, her passion in her eyes. “From what I learned this girl has submitted to you. And already you speak of giving that up?”
[09:11] Sasha Sin (sub.uwu) gave a small shrug. “I only know the black caste through rumors and tales. I’ve heard of mens shadows slay entire taverns. I… wanted to know what really happens.” Sasha stammered softly while Sirius hooked his thumbs in his belt. “As for my nightmares… I sleep a lot in the day. I do my chores and cleaning at night. The physicians said it was something that serum will fix but I’m too young right now.” she attempted to explain while she attempted to hide her need to feel guarded by rubbing a shoulder with the opposite hand.
[09:15] Fʀᴀnzɪᴀ (redwinelovah) felt the touch of Master Crow’s caress, the tip of her face that exposed the lines and blushes, the clear of her eyes and the line of her lips as her face was turned to Master Guru. Her body alive with a feverish pitch that was kept align with her rooted statue of humbled pride. Holding the glasses of wine for the pleasure of the Masters, fully tested, breathed and ready for consumption at their wim.
[09:20] Guru (sagscor) his posture as disciplined as ever. The weight of Crow’s words did not escape him, and he allowed the silence to stretch, sensing the subtle probing that Crow was engaging in. He had asked for this path, and now the reality of it was unfolding before him—tests, questions, and challenges that would define his resolve. When Crow mentioned the celibacy, the absence of worldly pleasures, his eyes narrowed slightly. He had thought long on the sacrifices required to walk this path, and he would not let the mention of a her submission or the temptations of the flesh sway him. He could see the connection between Crow and Franzia, the promise in her gaze, and yet he did not flinch. His path had already been set, and there was nothing that would divert him from it. His voice was quiet but resolute, “I came to you for the discipline of the Black Caste, not for the fleeting pleasures that can tie a man down. I understand the price of this training, and I accept it. I am not here to be distracted by the things [09:20] Guru (sagscor): that pull men off their course—be it a woman’s touch, or the comfort of the tavern. These are but temporary distractions, and I have no need for them.”
“I understand what Franzia represents, but I also understand what I must give up to truly be free in this world. A man who is ruled by his desires is a man bound. I seek the freedom that comes with mastery over them, and the ability to control my own fate. The path you walk requires sacrifice, and I have already made mine.” He then looked toward Franzia briefly, his gaze softening for the briefest of moments before he turned back to Crow, his voice steady once more. “She has submitted, and that is her choice. I have made mine. My loyalty lies with the path you offer. This is why I am here.” To Franzia, he gave no outward sign of acknowledgment, but inside, there was a quiet recognition of her role and the weight of that moment. Her expression, her movements, the way she held herself—everything about her spoke of discipline, of training, of knowing her place in the world they navigated. His eyes returned to Crow, steady and unwavering, before he spoke once more. “I do not seek to be distracted by the world around me. My mind is fixed on the goal ahead.” His eyes lingered just a moment on Franzia, recognizing the beauty in the moment, before refocusing on Crow, awaiting the next test.
[09:25] Crow (melchior.wardell) would now let go of the girl and take the glass with the wine. His fingers brushing hers in a silent gesture she had done him well. Very well indeed. He would have the wine dance in his glass as he sniffed it to enjoy all aspect of it.
The conversation behind him drifted too him and a grin crept upon his lips. Just his brothers luck.
When the man spoke once again, the attention of Crow moved back fully upon him. “Words.” he replied. “It is easy to speak of it, but to live it.” he replied. He would now indicate the man to take the other glass. “Take it … ” he stated. He than would give a meaningful look to Franzia and would turn back to Guru “Ever heard of the wait ?” he asks curious.
[04:46] :: The Dark Shadow of Gor :: ‘s right hand would pull the reign as he would spin the beast. “Tal Killer, don’t sneak up on people like that.” He would raise his hand in the Gorean fashion.” Been a while, since I have seen you.” he said.
[04:48] Crow (melchior.wardell) chuckled when one spoke of him sneaking up on people. It was a certain craft that in time had been mastered to a t. “It has indeed been a while.” he replied while he would flip the coin between his fingers. It calmed him. Not that he wasn’t calm, but to play with it and thrown it to catch it kept him from devious thoughts. “The fair seems to have taken many to this tent.” he added.
[04:51] :: The Dark Shadow of Gor :: ‘s cold eyes would watch the man a moment. A simple nod would be the reaction,” That it has. Seems more and more, people are coming to the realization that we are… still around. Despite the rumors.” he said in a low tones.
[04:52] Lυlυ Lÿţє Õђηαкα (lululyteohnaka): oh off course, water coming up ‘Turning about and slides the plate back up onto the table, scooting with a little hip sway in a little dance and hums to herself with a little tune. The little bench nears swooping a cup with the hand while moving over to wash the cup but also checking for any little imperfections with that pointy finger just softly brushing, with a happy inspections would give it a good wash with the soap while making sure all the bubbles washed away. The cloth being scooped up with the other hand wiping down the said cup till it was very clean, placing the cloth upon the table while walking away would scoop the vessel of water up into her hand that is still sealed and moves closer again to the Master. Standing at the side and would show the vessel of water sealed tucking the cup some up to free the hand to open it up before his eyes. Placing the lid to sit between her breasts letting the cup slide back out catching with the fingers. Filling the cup with water in the offering with a smile raising the cup up before him to him. Though her short frame did not help much and would need to get on those tip toes’ Master the water nice and fresh ready for you to enjoy.
[04:53] :: The Dark Shadow of Gor :: ‘s cold eyes would watch the girl as she would lift the water to him taking it he would speak. “Open your mouth.” He said, waiting for her to open her mouth so he could make her swallow some just in case it was tainted.
[04:55] :: The Dark Shadow of Gor :: ‘s stoic face would turn to look at Si. “Tal and welcome.”
[04:55] :: Si :: trekked his way through the mud and stopped near the Kaillia and the girl, glancing up to his employer he would give him a nod and then glanced to the other man “Tal Killers” he would say to them both in a low tone, but observing the girl as he was asked to open her mouth.
[04:55] Lυlυ Lÿţє Õђηαкα (lululyteohnaka): yes Master ‘raising her head up some with a slight tilt back in the same as the lips part away from each other showing an opened mouth’
[04:56] Crow (melchior.wardell) ‘s brow perked just a little at the statement. He himself had not been in the know that some were considering them to have left or gone. Business was booming in a way – although Crow was quite picky on which contracts he would take. He observed the man and his tactics. He himself was less suspiciously or paranoid when it came to the offers of a slave that surely was instructed by the caste. But in it there was no judgment – simple observation. “So you have just arrived?” he asks to make casual conversation. Clearly not that adapt to such. But he tried.
[04:59] :: The Dark Shadow of Gor :: hand lifted the water up and would pour some water in. “Swallow.” He would speak, then open your mouth again.” He would add. Watching her as he waited, a slight smile would stretch across his lips. “Aii, yes, I have been here now and again through out the fair, but it is great to see you again, old friend.” He would be amused at the slave a moment.
[05:02] Lυlυ Lÿţє Õђηαкα (lululyteohnaka): ‘The fast gulp and swallow the nice little refreshment even if it was just a sip was nice. Those lips parting away from each other again offering the opened mouth’ (no problem [05:04] :: Si :: observed the girl for a moment as she drank from the water for a moment then looked over to the giant Kaillia, but his eyes would wander around the tent looking at all the banner but would remain silent for now.
[05:05] :: The Dark Shadow of Gor :: ‘s eyes would watch her swallow, as he would tip the water in her mouth again.” Swallow, and open again.” He would commander her. He assumed she wasn’t drinking as the days progressed to becoming warmer this time of year. He would look back to C and nodded. “It has been a good turn out this year at the tent. I was hoping at some point they would do a Q&A with the killers.” he said turning back to the slave.
[05:06] Crow (melchior.wardell) simply stood there. As this statue. Only his fingers and the coin moved. His keen eyes would move from the man to his animal to the slave and their surroundings. “I know I have been elusive. But with reason.” he shared. “I left the lodge .. due to some ..” he paused “In reconcilable differences.” he stated cryptic. It was anyones guess as to what might have happened. “So any affiliation you carry ?” he asks. The turnout was indeed in quantity. He himself hoped it would bring something else too but rumours had it that quality had been lacking. But as always – who knew what was truth.
[05:10] Lυlυ Lÿţє Õђηαкα (lululyteohnaka): ‘The lips clapping some as the enter into her mouth with a slight gargle and swirl before that final swallow, her mind would wonder of some to the plate of chocolates and how she did not even have one yet for herself. The soft lips moving away from each other as to the Master’s request, it does seem the water is fine and okay for it to be enjoyed then herself’
[05:13] :: Si :: Remained silent as he had nothing to add to a conversation between two killers, he would swish the dry straw in his mouth as he often did as he bit down on it with his teeth still looking around the tent his eyes glancing briefly to the statue like killer the girl and the Killer and the Kaillia
[05:15] :: The Dark Shadow of Gor :: Watching her take the next swallow of the water he would nod. “You are fine, stay hydrated.” He commanded her. “Serve the others. Then for a reward, ONE, chocolate.” He said to her with a wink and the smile was gone. Looking at Si then shifting back to Crow. He chuckled. “Do you see my flag, on these banners?” He would ask the man. “Again, Alone with gold and steel, wasn’t just some arbitrary saying, for me anyways.” He would speak. “I have survived on my own, for many years. Thought, I am affiliated with GBC, They do not control my actions. I am part of The BCS and OBC.” He would speak. “However, You will never find my banner on thus said, walls here.”
[05:19] Lυlυ Lÿţє Õђηαкα (lululyteohnaka): ‘closing her lips and would give a little yawn stretch some then offers a smile back’ Thank you Master ‘her tone was very soft though sweet all the same. The little spin and shuffle backwards some leaving a little trail with in the dirt path, sway to the hips happy hearing she could have some chocolate after serving’ Greetings Master ‘Stepping and stopping at the Masters side’ Might i be able to serve you with getting a drink or food for the belly
[05:20] Crow (melchior.wardell) noted the silent figure. His eyes had roamed over him as to consider him well. But his gaze would return as he was addressed “Alone huh.” he grinned. “Seems to be an ongoing conversation about that one.” he would glance back. Very aware that one of these banners was his. The stitching as new as a baby’s ass. “So little is to learn when it comes to banners, names or courts … Eventually it comes down to effort.” he would point to the girl “She can be dressed in the finest of silks, carry the most sensational name and be part of an outstanding slavershouse. Yet without her servitude or effort – she is nothing.” he liked to be cryptic and would watch her as she moved to the silent figure.
[05:24] :: Si :: glanced over to the girl “nay, nothing for me” he would say to her then glanced back to the man who was talking cryptically then glancing to the banners again and then to the two killers he would remain silent as he had nothing to add to cryptic sayings or there conversation. he would shift his boots in the mud releasing his foot from a air pocket. the ground he observed look like it had a lot of comings and goings lately.
[05:28] :: The Dark Shadow of Gor :: ‘s eyes would look at the slave then the banners back to the man. “mmm, I see your point, however, “being cryptic, “if a frog has wings, it would not hit his butt, when he hops.” he would look to C. “Sometimes, things have a way of working out, one takes the good with the bad, however, it doesn’t mean, one has to always agree with everyone. This, is why I still stand alone. Also the fact, that I was questioned about my own earned rank, when it came to this court.” shook his head. “Some great people I know in this Court, but it is not the end all be all.” He said with a stoic face to the other Killer.
[05:31] Lυlυ Lÿţє Õђηαкα (lululyteohnaka): Off course Master ‘the cherp excited was one more serve away with getting the delighted chocolate as her fingers danced with in each other some. Moving away from the master’s at each side with a scurry of those feet with such a Holt standing right in front of Master as those hands frail at the side of her hips softly tapping” Master might i be able to get you a drink or some food for the belly.
[05:32] Crow (melchior.wardell) would move now as to ensure his muscles wouldn’t get cold and all of a sudden it was needed to move. One came not of age because one was careless. “Oh .. I enjoy a good battle of tongues.” he replied – matter of factly “A good debate makes for clear arguments, reasons so one comes up with good terms and conditions.” he would chuckle there. “It is the manipulation. The I am better than you. The ego’s that suit a warrior and not that of a killer.” When the girl approached his eyes seem to warm slightly to her. “Yes some water would be excellent. I deem it to early for wine.” he winked to her. He didn’t have any special rites for her service. He simply wished a drink and she was simply offering.
[05:38] :: Si :: Simply would shift the weight of his feet and stretched his neck side to side slowly watching the slave sway over to the statue Killer then to the other Killer on the Kaillia again. the mention of a debate and words he was intrigued and would listen often silent as he only spoke if it was needed he would be content with listening too the wisdom of two killers. he picked the dry piece of straw form his mouth between his finger and then flicked it into the nearby grass
[05:40] KeDjA (lilli.breda) wanders along the path, always a little away from the crowds as it winds its way through the tents and carts. Her left hand grips the thin but sturdy branch on her shoulder, from the end of which hangs a small cloth bag. A smile is on her lips and she hums happily to herself as she occasionally dodges a person or a Kaiila or Thalarion. Her feet often brush through the turf at the edge of the path. Perhaps one reason why she walks off the main path as much as possible. When she arrives at the tent, she initially keeps a little distance from the action and falls silent
[05:42] Lυlυ Lÿţє Õђηαкα (lululyteohnaka): Master its never to early or to late to enjoy a drink of wine, but i will get your water right away. ‘Moving to the side like a side shuffle and giggles some with the vessel still with in her hands, moving up the steps and further with in the tent placing the vessel down onto the table as it was all ready opened and used all though it was seen it was best to bring a new vessel out. Taking another cup with in her hands while moving over to wash it, that very pointy finger would check the cup softly tracing over the inside and out making sure there was no imperfections. Feeling very satisfied then start to wash it making sure to remove all the dirt with the soap, Taking the cloth with in the other hand making sure to wipe away all the water and then her hands. Placing that cloth down into a little pile, while also removing the lid from her breasts placing it to the side while moving back as the free hand swoops in taking another vessel making the way down the steps moving around some standing before the Master again with a smile.. The same sliding the cup down a little holding it tight as the fingers wrap around the top of the vessel letting lid go loose and plops the lid this time into the silks of the belt making sure he does see it open before his eyes. as the cup slides back catching it with her fingers and then fills it up with the offering it up some’ Master the water is here for you to sip and enjoy.
[05:43] :: The Dark Shadow of Gor :: The beast smelling the new comer would turn on it’s own looking at the new slave. clacking it’s cutters, he would snort and stamp the ground wanting a small treat… pulling the best back he would get control of it.
[05:46] Crow (melchior.wardell) was careful as to what he shared. Caste secrets were kept well guarded surely when they were there for anyone to hear. He studied a new arrival. A grin appeared. The bond a familiar one. He would recognize her from afar. “Ah Kedja.” he called her closer “What happened with coffin nail?” he asked. The tarn that was raised by hand much to the stress of her owner. “It must have yet taken its first flight ?” he asks. As the girl offered him his water his attention would go to her alone. That moment of truly seeing her as she offered was his gift. When he would retrieve it his fingertips brushed but for a moment over hers. His eyes upon her linger as if he was to read her thoughts. He had noted her effort and appraised her with his look. “Thank you.” he stated to her as to dismiss her from his service. “A chocolate I presume.” he added to her with some amusement. Perhaps they were unaware but Crow really could kill for a good chocolate muffin – so to speak.
[05:51] Lυlυ Lÿţє Õђηαкα (lululyteohnaka): yes Master chocolate ‘That expression of excitement turning to look at the Master upon the pet as she done what was asked awaiting for that approval before running off to take one, as her feet danced on the spot some waiting’
[05:52] KeDjA (lilli.breda) wrinkles her nose when the Kaiila notices her and tilts her head slightly to smell her own shoulder as inconspicuously as possible. Normally she is known for not using perfume. Here at the fair in the bathing area this morning, however, there was only floral-scented soap. She mumbles an indefinable curse and lifts her chin again as her shoulder sinks downwards. She eyes the animal suspiciously and tenses her muscles slightly. The rising fear is abruptly interrupted by Crow’s voice – thank heavens – and she directs her gaze to him “Tal Masters.. Kajira” she greets now with a bright sound in her voice and immediately adds her answer to his question “He… or she… actually flew alongside Schatten for a while, but the rest of the way he… or she… carried himself with me in the transport basket, Master” She grins slightly and then takes another sideways glance at the animal
[05:53] :: Si :: felt the beast shift in the other direct he would tilt his head to the new comer as the man called her out as Kedja, he was observant and listened more then he spoke he would shift his body toward her a brief moment and would give her a slight nod “girl” he would say in a low tone then would look back towards the tent listening to the man talk. though not directed at him, he was still interested in the debate that was mentioned. perhaps he would learn something. listening to the conversation that took place from behind him and in front of him.
[06:05] Lυlυ Lÿţє Õђηαкα (lululyteohnaka): Greetings kajira ‘with a little pointy finger wave and the smile to follow right after, darting herself up into the tent over to the table where the plate of the delicate crafted chocolates to be shared with others, shifting a gaze to each side swooping up the square. The lips part placing the soft yummines enter some into the mouth biting down as she just melts’ oooooo eeeeeeeee….! uuugggghhh.
[06:05] Crow (melchior.wardell) pondered on the fact the tarn hadn’t taken the entire flight. “You may not spoil it.” he warned her. “It needs challenge.” he added as in advise. Crow had worked hard to master the training of animals. The last craft was that of a sleen trainer. It had taken him time but eventually it had been very rewarding. He would take a good gulp of the water.
[06:12] KeDjA (lilli.breda) pushes her breath audibly through her nose. Even if Sargnagel was driving her mad, she still felt the need to protect this animal. Perhaps as a kind of substitute for a child. She lowers her gaze slightly and answers Crow in her typical “aye, Master” manner. If it had been up to her, the minitarn wouldn’t have come to the Sardar Mountains at all. She thought it was far too dangerous. But Arsus and Schatten had a different opinion. So she had been outvoted. She blinks slightly as she lifts her head and looks back and forth between the three men and the Kaiila for a moment before turning back to Crow. She had heard something about chocolate, before “the merchant from the last fair is back and he’s still just as… ready for action” she grins broadly now and her fingers tap the branch. Last year she had got the chocolate for the men at a ridiculously low price. She simply used her best arguments and the merchant seemed very… approachable.
[06:19] Crow (melchior.wardell) knew the tone and would grin at the slave. When she spoke of the merchant he knew instantly what was said. His grin became more apparent. “Well he might not be on the ready for your arguments. Perhaps you need a different strategy.” he jested. “So your owner ? In a local tavern I suspect ? Trying to steer clear from freewomen?” he asks. Previous year the man had been flocked with women. He remembered it well. He noted his sleen and snapped his fingers to her. Pointing a spot for her to relax and be.
[06:21] Hectate (irunoncoffee) shook her furred body before grumbling and sitting down. A soft hiss coming from her of pent up hot air before she looked about with her large massive head. She was larger than most sleens, the female having an attitude befitting that size though she saw her handler as an Equal. Allowing him to command her with ease since he had her mutual respect. She raised a paw and batted at her nose a moment before shaking her head once more and then sneezing before settling. Dust had gotten into her snout!
[06:24] :: The Dark Shadow of Gor :: ‘s cold eyes would watch everyone as the beast would shift back around. He fell silent to listen and observe the few that were there. His stomach started to growl and he looked to Si, giving the hand signal for it was time to depart. He wanted to make is way around camp and find Turdmus. Where they were camping at the fair.
[06:24] KeDjA (lilli.breda) smirks slightly “if he’s not prepared then that’s more my advantage, Master” she tilts her head as the Sleen appears from the thicket behind the tent and it takes her a moment to recognise the animal. In that time she holds her breath, which is released when Crow signals in the animal’s direction. Now she can calmly turn her attention back to him ‘my owner hid in the tent after a free woman almost sold him a companionship contract yesterday. At least that’s what he said,” she grins very clearly now.
[06:27] :: Si :: caught the hand signal in the corner of his eye as he was busy just enjoying the morning as the people spoke, then he pulled his boots from the mud and would follow his employer as he understood the signal then started trekking through the mud, wondering where the hell his crewman left his own Kaillia.
[06:28] Crow (melchior.wardell) laughs at the words of Kedja. It was perhaps rare for a killer to laugh but Crow did often and even shamelessly. He was calculated, rough and ruthless if need be. But was still capable to enjoy entertainment. Was it female flesh or a good jest. “Ha ! That is a believable story.” his eyes travel over the sleen as to see if she was there without any nips or things in her fur. Surely after the other day when one had threatened her. “Surely for the right prize he might have an ear.” he jested. As he saw the hand signal he would simply incline his head towards both men “I wish you both well.” he offered. He would be around – so who knows they might meet again.
[06:30] :: The Dark Shadow of Gor :: ‘s stoic face and cold manner would look to the other Killer. Nodding he would look to the Killer. “Gold and Steel.” is what he would speak and nodded once again. “Serve with milk and cookies, girls.” He would add before clacking his tongue and tapping his heals into the pockets on the beast.
[06:30] Hectate (irunoncoffee) raised her head as she saw Crow’s hand move, watching him alertly for any commands but when one failed to come she yawned and turned her head back to the man and his kaiila. Viewing them calmly before dug large claws into the dirt. Her fur was missing any attack marks, being sleek and clean for an unbrushed sleen. She grumbled and lowered her head, hisisng once at crow as she allowed him close to her. One of the few that could actually touch her without too much protest.
[06:31] KeDjA (lilli.breda) turns a little to the two men, who obviously wanted to continue on their way “Safe paths, Masters” she makes that little ‘curtsy’ again, which she always did in the north when there was too much snow to kneel in.
[06:36] Crow (melchior.wardell) was pleased to see Hectate being without any harm. He would reach out and scratch her a little as to get that sense of her fur. She needed to be brushed, but wondered if she not rather wanted to get another hunt. But when she was this relaxed he pondered on it. His attention back to Kedja. “All well?” he asks.
[06:39] Hectate (irunoncoffee) gave a soft hiss as Crow started to scratch her fur. Allowing the touch rather lazily the normally feisty female yawned once more before she shook her head to waken herself up. Large golden eyes viewing the slave girl before looking to Crow. Almost as though she was about to get up and shove the girl into the tent. She had developed a habit of that.
In the heart of a bustling city, there lived a dancer named Seraphina, whose every movement was a symphony of grace and mystery. She wore a jewel known as Luna’s Enigma, a rare and beautiful amulet that shimmered with an otherworldly light. As she danced, the jewel seemed to pulse in time with her heartbeat, casting an enchanting glow that captivated all who watched.
Seraphina’s performances were legendary, drawing crowds from far and wide. Each night, she would take to the stage, her movements fluid and mesmerizing, as if she were weaving a spell with every step. The audience would hold their breath, entranced by the ethereal beauty of her dance and the mysterious allure of the jewel she wore.
But it was not just her talent that made Seraphina unforgettable. It was the way she seemed to transcend the ordinary, her presence a beacon of rare beauty and enigmatic charm. She inspired dreams and stirred hearts, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of witnessing her art.
In the grand city of Ar, there was a powerful Ubar named Marlenus. Known for his strategic mind and unyielding ambition, Marlenus had heard tales of Seraphina, the enchanting dancer, and the mystical jewel she wore, Luna’s Enigma. The stories of her beauty and the amulet’s mysterious powers captivated him, and he became determined to possess both.
Marlenus believed that Luna’s Enigma held the key to untold fortunes and power, and he was convinced that Seraphina’s grace and charm would be the perfect complement to his reign. He sent his most trusted emissaries to seek out the dancer and bring her to his palace. The journey was fraught with challenges, but Marlenus’s desire to obtain the amulet and the dancer drove him to overcome every obstacle.
As the emissaries approached the city where Seraphina performed, they marveled at the tales of her mesmerizing dances and the jewel’s ethereal glow. They knew that convincing her to join Marlenus would not be an easy task, but they were prepared to offer her the world in exchange for her presence at the Ubar’s side.
The stage was set for a meeting that would change the course of their lives, as Seraphina’s destiny intertwined with that of the ambitious Ubar, Marlenus.
When Seraphina was brought before Ubar Marlenus, she listened to his grand promises and offers of wealth and power. However, her heart was not swayed by material riches or the allure of a grand palace. She valued her freedom and the joy she found in her art above all else. With a calm and resolute voice, she declined his offer, choosing to remain true to herself and her passion for dance.
Marlenus, unaccustomed to being refused, felt a surge of anger. His face darkened, and his eyes burned with fury. He could not comprehend how anyone could turn down such an opportunity. His rage was palpable, but Seraphina stood her ground, her serene demeanor a stark contrast to his tempestuous outburst. In that moment, she embodied the true power of inner strength and conviction, leaving Marlenus to grapple with his unfulfilled desires.
In a fit of rage, Ubar Marlenus decided that if he couldn’t possess Seraphina and Luna’s Enigma, no one else would. He summoned a shadowy figure known only in whispers—a feared assassin whose skills were unmatched. The Ubar’s command was clear: eliminate the dancer and take the amulet. The assassin, driven by loyalty and the promise of a hefty reward, set out on his dark mission, determined to fulfill Marlenus’s vengeful wish. The stage was now set for a confrontation that would test Seraphina’s resilience and the true power of Luna’s Enigma.
In the dead of night, the assassin struck with lethal precision, ending Seraphina’s life and claiming Luna’s Enigma. Ubar Marlenus, now in possession of the coveted amulet, expected his fortunes to change. However, as days turned into weeks, he found that the jewel brought him nothing but emptiness. The wealth and power he sought remained elusive, and the once-mighty Ubar was left to ponder the true cost of his ambition. The legend of Seraphina and Luna’s Enigma became a cautionary tale, a reminder that some treasures are beyond the grasp of even the most powerful rulers.
Indeed, the true power of Luna’s Enigma was revealed to be bound by honor and valor. The amulet, when taken through deceit or theft, brought nothing but misfortune and emptiness. However, when won in a fair fight or battle, it bestowed great fortune and prosperity upon its rightful owner. This revelation turned Luna’s Enigma into a symbol of integrity and courage, reminding all who sought it that true fortune could only be achieved through noble means. The legend of Seraphina and the amulet lived on, teaching generations the value of honor and the true essence of fortune.
The amulet, now known as Luna’s Enigma, has become the coveted prize for the grand tournament. Warriors and adventurers from far and wide gather, each driven by the legend of its power and the promise of fortune it bestows upon the worthy. The tale of Seraphina and the amulet’s true nature spreads like wildfire, igniting the hearts of those who seek honor and glory.
For those that wish to participate in obtaining this prize – there is a tournement held at the Whipstock 2025: JAN 19TH SUNDAY

[2024/12/18 10:52] Black Ost (daricmarano) shifted his eyes to the square again and those filing about. He exhaled, before he would incline his head in a cryptic way and shift to move off. Adjusting black tunic to his stocky frame before he adjusted his stance and moved around the corner.
[2024/12/18 10:53] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) fell in behind, her feline gait going even more quiet as she moves – it always did when serving those of the black.
[2024/12/18 10:56] Black Ost (daricmarano) peered left and right as he moved. “Tal Haru, how are you? It was good to see that herlit.” He supplied to her, his eyes softening a bit upon her, before he reached up and slid that helm from his head. Tucking it under one arm. “I was gone from the city for a few days. I take some time away to recharge. I should recommend the same thing to Crow.”
[2024/12/18 11:00] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would trail along behind Ost. They got to the beach, but not quite as far down as they would usually go, she noted. Not to the very spot where the order to report to him had been given. “I am well, Master,” she says, giving a slight tug of her camisk; not for modesty but to show it off. A gift from her master though she didn’t verbalise her words of it; girls. Always those silent messages, right?
“Karasu is well trained and is rewarded for it,” she says, referring to her little midget herlit. “He has saved me before from being stolen.” A nod of her head and she scans the beach again, ensuring they were still alone. “My Master …” she starts as he mentions the idea of a break. Haru would do anything for just some time alone with the man but he was busy. Very busy. “My Master would have me report to you of your charge. She has been using her connection to the caste to further her own intents. Claiming that she is owned by the caste and even suggesting or questioning the what ifs of a mistress being trained as a killer.”
She would pause a moment, watching the man for a reaction. “He wishes to know if you would deal with it, or if he will step in instead. Her tongue will be lost if so.” She still thought the lady was foolish for offering up her tongue so willingly but hey, not her problem.
[2024/12/18 11:06] Black Ost (daricmarano) adjusted that helm under his arm. Ost had always been an enigma. A different sort of killer. Not one Haru had ever seen angry. His eyes drifted to the thassa, he saw that little shift of that camisk. It was a nice camisk. He liked purple. He shifted, his head and nodded back to Haru. “After I received your missive. I spoke to the woman herself to see if she was culpable for her actions and would explain herself. She did. She told me everything you just stated. “I reminded her that her connection to the caste does not mean she is owned by the caste. She is a woman and women are not permitted to be trained as a killer.” There wasn’t frustration or anger in him in that moment. “I wish to speak to Crow on this matter.”
[2024/12/18 11:12] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) was alert, keeping track of the beach as they spoke; back in her game as if the new camisk had triggered a switch in the girl and put all things right. What girl didn’t get all googly from new pretty things? The angst of before was gone though she could feel that she was being held to a different standard now in public; though much of that she was figuring slowly was because no, they were not in Kansas any more, Toto.”My Master,” she would say, turning to take note of his arrival. Alert. Near impossible to sneak up on now; just like the man in the mines who had tried. And failed.
The girl would step back, making room for her master’s approach even as she nodded her head to Ost’s feedback but having given her report and the man arriving as his name was spoken, she would default to her owner. An approach from her, a momentary brush of her hands against his thighs and under his cloak for them being alone but then putting that little measure of gap between per his recent preferences.
[2024/12/18 11:16] Crow (melchior.wardell) moved and just on time would move towards the beach. His eyes upon Ost as he dipped his head in a respectful manner.
He noted his girl and understood she relayed the message he had told her. As she pushed herself backwards. The touch was given a look but he did not comment upon it.
“Well here I am. So what is it you wished to relay., Killer.”
[2024/12/18 11:21] Black Ost (daricmarano) watched Haru step backwards and he tipped his head back to peer towards Crow. An incline of his head in a respectful manner. His eyes were clearer for his break away from the city; something he forced himself to take to come back with fresh eyes. “I received your message and the information you wished your girl to relay. I spoke with the lady, prior to this conversation. She is incorrect in her understanding and I want to relay to you, that free women called associate with our caste are tools. With a means to an end. Like physicians or suppliers, there is no debt owed to the caste and certainly will I not train such women to be killers. That is ludicrous. As Choko’s guardian, I will be the first to tell you…the woman needs a reality check. Only..” He would look back to Crow holding his gaze. “…since when do we let our anger speak for us? We are not violent men.”
[2024/12/18 11:24] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would enlarge the gap a little at the look from her master. Still close. Enough so that if he moved, she’d feel it before she would see it – but quick and simple to also move out of the way. Her old protocols were starting to kick in; the only thing missing was standing on his left as there were rocks in the way, her face falling into that placid, porcelain mask. Unreadable. Beautiful and demure seeming yet whatever emotions lay behind it were hidden. A gaze that kept tabs on everything around her; anything that moved or made a noise, staying alert that the masters could have privacy and yet ready to move at a single signal.
[2024/12/18 11:26] Crow (melchior.wardell) would regard Ost with a gaze that pierced through his eyes. After a casual glance over his shoulders “Are you Killer, going to lecture me on anger management and how to control it when I am faced by your ward that speaks from your connection as if she can do as she pleases ?” his voice eary calm, but there was something to it.
“This wasn’t a first time. This wasn’t a second time. This woman wants to be in my bed. Wants to be fucked like a slave. I smelled her with paga. I let her to you and your decisions. Did I not ?”
He would wave his hand “Consider yourself warned. I have not acted out of anger but out of controlling a situation in which she would no longer be of any use to you.”
[2024/12/18 11:32] Black Ost (daricmarano) shifted that helm under his arm, just holding it. His body otherwise relaxed. “I am not lecturing you killer. How she speaks away from me, is unknown to me until I am told of it. As you are telling me now. I do not need a warning for it. I am just cautioning you from one brother to another.” He supplied with an incline of his head. He spoke in certainties, an ease of expression. “I have seen what you speak of in her. I have let her fail all on her own without harming her. Her downfall will be her own design.” He shifted his stance, adjusting to square his hips. “We are discussing this, not arguing it. The lady has failings we both agree on that. Why give her what she wants? If she wants to be in your bed, I will resign her punishment to you as the aggrieved party.”
[2024/12/18 11:34] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) listens, a slight shudder running down her spine. She knew Choko had offered up her tongue to Crow’s words – a foolish move if anyone were to ask Haru; almost as if the lady wanted to accelerate things in that regard. She’d been given a safety buffer for her life and yet wanted to throw it away then and there.
She says nothing, though. The girl was simply acting as the eyes in the back of the men’s head. Allowing them to focus without concern of snoops or eavesdroppers.
[2024/12/18 11:40] Crow (melchior.wardell) frowns “You caution me for what ? Surely you do so because there is a concern for me to act out of it. I doubt you would do so otherwise.” he replied to the point. “So forgive me for seeing your intent any different than it was meant for.” he added.
His pose calm – his voice even – Still Crow was not one that would be scolded like a fresh man in to the caste. “She is your ward. You took her in. I doubt you knew much about her. But she is your problem. So my message was one of warning. Since I am quite sure you can’t be everywhere. If she already failed you, one might wonder why she is still out there let lose ? Are you not fearful for a blemished reputation. One you so much fought for ?” he asks
“This isn’t about her. I could care less. Which I told her before she so foolishly spoke of being of the caste. I warned her than. Even after I warned her days prior when she did so too. It is up to you how valuable she is too you. To me she is nothing. Of no value. But since I did not have the coin she has her life. And perhaps that is worth something to you.”
[2024/12/18 11:49] Black Ost (daricmarano) did not sway his gaze from Crow. He held enough respect between them to meet his eyes. “I caution you because our caste is in ruin, it is in ruin because we have forgotten where we came from. Where we started. It is weak to be cruel, it takes strength to be humble. You are a killer same as me. We endured the training, we endured the hardship and we still do. I refuse to be a bully and if you take offense to those words I am apologetic.” He said lifting his hand to his shoulder and chest. “I am not fearful of blemish upon my reputation. My actions speak for themselves, how others in my orbit act is not a reflection upon me or this caste. It is a reflection upon themselves. Same for any member of our caste.” He supplied peering back in his direction with his focus. “The woman grows my coffers, but can be detached from any association. You were offended by her inquiry. Her punishment is yours.”
[2024/12/18 11:52] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would make a motion for the men to alert them to the approaching man – though the man thankfully passed before anything further could be spoken. Still, her eyes tracked the man. She had noted an increase in northerners in the city since her arrival; that had her concerned. Going to the north at her master’s beckoning was one thing – being taken there by force was completely something else and that always got her nervous when she saw so many. Haru had trust issues when it came to strangers and probably rightly so.
Her head moves, still tracking, still keeping eyes open – but also playing ping-pong between the men as words go back and forth; as they seem to negotiate and banter on whose responsibility Choko’s punishment would be. She was glad it wasn’t her own tongue on the chopping block – even if she had learned skills to communicate when gagged, losing the ability to taste food would have had its own effects.
[2024/12/18 11:59] Crow (melchior.wardell) shook his head “Forgive me if I read more into your words than you intended to relay? Do you think I am a bully? I am no longer humble?” the question sincere and out there to see if there was perhaps time on some self reflection. Crow did never walk or run from those. “Unfortunately I wish you were right that your actions would only be the ones that matter. You must trust me from my past experience such is not always the case. Even in association we are judged.”
He would regard his slave for a moment before his attention returned to Ost. “If she brings you coin. If you see that she is more valuable than the pain she might cause. That is your decision to make.I am not the master of this court.” he waved his hand “The punishment spoken and her offer for to cut her tongue – wasn’t executed because I did not have any intent to harm her in a way that wouldn’t be able to be rectified. She is yours to do as you please. I have no interest in it. I just wished you warned. And as you seem to think I only acted because I might enjoy to pester women … Than I want to learn that now.”
[2024/12/18 12:05] Black Ost (daricmarano) had noticed those folks passing, as such he waited to speak until they passed. He stepped closer, but it was not in a threatening way it was in an honest more open way. “Crow, one of your first actions upon meeting someone seeking our caste typically is to punch them in the face. To test and judge their reaction if they have the temperament to be a killer. We expect them not to cower, but to take the punch and stand back up on their own two feet without allowing fury to overwhelm them. If I were to swing on you right now how would you act? Honestly.” He supplied with a cant of his head.
[2024/12/18 12:07] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) was listening and for all the non-threat of Ost’s motions, she would take two small steps back. Space for her master to move. Her mind was wandering back to Ost’s earlier words; where he had been the last few days and the suggestion that had followed. That would be a dream, would it not? Just a few days.
[2024/12/18 12:11] Crow (melchior.wardell) would watch how the killer came close and although he didn’t cower there was this flicker in the eyes of Crow that must have warned him. When the man spoke to him. He knew the man to be right.
As Ost asked his response, Crow would think his reply would be as honest as the intent of his question. All of a sudden it dawned upon him. “I would slice your throat if you did not stop me from doing so.” his words painfully honest. If Crow was ever afraid of what would happen – it was now – in this moment.
He regarded Ost defeated as he lowered his head. His mind racing while his heart danced in his chest. How he wished to say he would be as those lads, but he would fail his caste if Ost ever had done so.
[2024/12/18 12:18] Black Ost (daricmarano) would take a step back, as any sensible man would when the threat of a slit throat was laid before him. “We all lose sight of the picture. When we are inside the frame. I do not judge you. I judge myself for pushing you to join me here after the fall of the Lodge, I think you need a break..” He did not reach for him as some men might embrace. He only inclined his head respectfully.
[2024/12/18 12:26] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) was listening. Her gaze moves from man to man. Ost had said the same earlier and Haru had pictured it vividly. Him. Her. Some beach alone with noone else to bother them. A chance for her to spoil him. Help him relax and take care of things while he did what he needed to do. A time for them to reconnect.
She doesn’t speak, though.
[2024/12/18 12:27] Crow (melchior.wardell) would look up to him “You do not have to fear me. To realize I would have done so is enough to have me cautioned.” he stated.
He would look to his slave and back to Ost. “I indeed need to step away from any caste business.” he replied. “I will consider what to do.”
He would look to his girl “Please find Erebus. See that you train Nova. I will be there to come and collect you for whatever comes next.”
With that he would leave.
[2024/12/18 12:29] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would watch as her master walked off, the girl crumbling inside a little. “Hai…” she would say. Her gaze moved to Ost and she would frown some. “It seems I am to travel to Argentum then.”
[2024/12/18 12:30] Black Ost (daricmarano) watched him walk away. His eyes distant, before he peered back to Haru. “I expect you to help him as you can, girl. You may come to me and this court if you need refuge yourself. I will protect you as if I were your own master.” He said, as he shifted to slide that helm over his head. Adjusting it. “Do as your master wishes.”
[2024/12/18 12:32] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would sigh and shake her head. “Thank you, Master,” she says. “It seems I have orders to follow, though.” She would start to move back to the court. “Please pass my wishes to your girls and I will cook with Ash upon my return. If I return.” Those words hung there. She was clearly uncertain but she did not wait for more.
[2024/12/18 12:33] Black Ost (daricmarano) nodded his head to the girl, watching that other woman walk down the beach. He wouldn’t entertain it. “Yes, girl. You needn’t thank me.” A gesture for her to find Erebus to complete her task.
[13:00] Crow (melchior.wardell) would enter and as he needed to adjust to the dim light he noted some familiar faces. “Greetings Killers.” he offered to hose there in respect.
[13:02] Byron Greenwood also notes the timely arrival of his lieutenant, along with the master of the GBC.
[13:02] Obsidian (thom.podlum) arrived as in out of thin air. He looked around the chamber and offered an incline of his head to those who were present. ‘Greetings, Killers. Hoping you all are having a fine day.’ Then he took a seat and remained quiet.
[13:03] Conrad (achlysnightfire): arrives soon after Obsidian, in the same fashion “Killers” he says nodding to the other assassins
[13:04] Al’Sah (azaereus) moved to join the men of his court and camp, offering Conrad a nod of greeting, and to the others as they filtered in
[13:04] Drago (drago.blackheart) he will stay in the back and just listen on ” Greetings Killers and slaves”
[13:04] Nijad (altav2015): enters just after Conrad and also nods a greeting to those present.
[13:05] Crow (melchior.wardell) had been from the lodge due to grim business up in the North. As he moved he arched a brow. The captain was still missing. Not one that was often late. “I am doing well, Killer. I trust you and yours do so too ?”
There was a reason he seemed to have little interest in Scar for the moment.
[13:05] Erin (tracynotme) follows her Master “Tal Masters and kajirae “
[13:05] Sana ‘Toi’ Armani (babeangel) followed erin in behind thier woner and she was nervous as she glanced around but stayed silent*
[13:06] Λdɨяα (sutara.luminos): would take her place at her masters boot quietly before sending a quick easy smile “greetings masters and beauties” she would murmur softly before going quiet
[13:08] Byron Greenwood makes note of the other arrivals and patiently waits as they settle themselves.
[13:08] Conrad (achlysnightfire): seeing Crow he nods “What about the lads? were do you want them?” he asks seeing that Drago is there
[13:10] Crow (melchior.wardell) had not taken his place. Waiting for the captain to arrive and the other lieutenant. As Conrad spoke he cuts a glance to Scar and answers Conrad “On their hands, knees, whatever you like. They are your canidates.” he replied with a hint of his black humor “Our candidate will not join. If he is still alive that is.”
[13:11] Conrad (achlysnightfire): looks at Drago “stand behind us, lad” he orders
[13:11] Red Bloodrose is hunched over papers at the behest of Scar, scribbling notes furiously. She lifts her head then, offering a nod of respect to the assembled Masters, ducking her head the to the height of the girls then, to offer a quiet wave of her hand to them all in welcome, before once more bending studiously to her notes.
[13:12] Byron Greenwood thinly smirks at Crow’s humour in deciding upon the treatment of guest candidates.
[13:13] Al’Sah (azaereus) rubbed at his temples before taking a quick nip from the bota at his hip of the clear water within. ” It’s been too long since we’ve had a proper conclave so I hope this ends much better than the last… Thankfully I see mostly reasonable and rational faces among us today.”
[13:13] Drago (drago.blackheart): : he move behind Conrad and stand with his hands behind his back, he looks around the room wondering who was who.
[13:15] Byron Greenwood motions to Crow to claim a seat. “Already it is a quarter past the hour. You will have to attend for our captain and his second, until such time as they present themselves.”
[13:17] Conrad (achlysnightfire): ((I am sorry but at 2PM I have to log out as tomorrow I wake up early for work))
[13:17] Crow (melchior.wardell) took a coin from his pocket and flipped it up in the air. One might think he made wagers with himself. Coin up – I speak – Coin down – I keep silent. But there was no such thing when it came to this. It was simply to keeping his fingers flexible. Not because his slave complaint – hardly – ever – she did not dare.
“It is, Killer. And I am sure many might join a little later. Not all were able to make it in time. Erebus will be here shortly. “
When Scar motions him to take a seat he did – but with some reluctance.
[13:18] Al’Sah (azaereus) chuckled at Crow’s observation. ” It doesn’t help that we hold our courts high in the mountains and not all of us are tarnsmen… It’s not the shortest nor easiest trek even on the back of a tharlarion.”
[13:19] Crow (melchior.wardell) grinned “I always have been excellent with animals. So I guess I should take in account that such does not come natural to all.” he jested.
[13:21] Obsidian (thom.podlum) shifted in his seat, still finding his comfortable position. Then he cleared his throat before commenting. ‘I need to share that I do have a commitment and am only able to be present for a bit over an ehn. Should I need to depart, I will designate Al’Sah as the most senior member of the GBC present to speak on my behalf.’ He turned to Al and nodded his head.
[13:22] Byron Greenwood makes note of Crow’s comments and waits until he is settled, then once again takes up a metal scroll rod, which he employs as a makeshift gavel, striking it three times upon the table, loudly and sharply. “I call this first conclave of the Black Lodge to order!” he declares. “The Black Lodge welcomes the masters of the GBC and the Sable Caste, along with their men and property, and all others here present. As the first order of business, I call upon Conrad, master of the Sable Caste, to speak of the fate Aretium. Has it been abandoned?”
[13:24] Conrad (achlysnightfire): He nods “Yes, we decided to move to Turmus. Since Coda has been away for long, the city wishes to have a master assassin there and our Raven was already there, so we decided to move there”
[13:26] Byron Greenwood makes a note of this news from Conrad. “Very well. I shall adjust our war table accordingly. My thanks, Killer. Second order of business. I should like to propose that all future Black Lodge conclaves are held on the second Sunday of the month, rather than the first. Any objections?”
[13:27] Al’Sah (azaereus) leaned back in his seat. ” Coda’s slave has also found her way into the employ of Master Assassin Tiber, myself, and works within the Court of Boswell Pass. We will hold the beast until his return, or should he be considered dead, she will remain in the chain of our camp.”
[13:27] Conrad (achlysnightfire): “on Sundays at 1PM is a bit late for me, Saturdays would be better”
[13:28] Crow (melchior.wardell) would simply flip the coin as he listens. In a way he was not only flexible with his fingers, he was flexible with his time too.
[13:29] Al’Sah (azaereus) ” I am afraid Sundays are my only available day, unless the conclaves are held later in the day on a Saturday.”
[13:30] Obsidian (thom.podlum): ‘No objections here.’ Obs was a man of few words …. for the moment.
[13:30] Byron Greenwood notes Al’sah’s comment. “How is this slave named, for the record?” He then acknowledged Conrad again. “Sunday was the most voted for day overall. Would starting at noon fair better for you, Killer?”
[13:30] Conrad (achlysnightfire): “yes, noon would be much better, killer”
[13:32] Al’Sah (azaereus) ” The slave’s name is Onyx, but we will settle that less important matter should there be time at the end.”
[13:35] Byron Greenwood nods at Al’Sah’s remark, and makes a note. “Second Sunday of the month, at noon. Motion is carried. We await word from Sirius on the fate of Rarn, unless any here can confirm its status. Meantime, I open the floor for other business.”
[13:36] Byron Greenwood rolls his eyes, since it seems he only has to mention Sirius’ name for him to actually appear! “Sirius, can you speak of the fate of Rarn before we continue?”
[13:38] Crow (melchior.wardell) cuts a glance to Sirius that still took the place of the spider. Surely with the intent to overcome his fear for those creatures. He nearly had spilled the beans when it came to Rarn but would await the words of the one that was appointed to that city.
[13:39] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) had just shuffled in , wiping sleep from his eyes. Sitting he covered a yawn with his hand, and bleary eyes looked at those gathered. He was startled when Scar called him, not expecting that. He sat up, alert now and cleared his throat. “Yes. Rarn. The city could not support itself , the interior having collapsed. What little remained of its populace has moved to Tafa.”
[13:40] Byron Greenwood nods to this grave news and makes a note. “So, it has, indeed, fallen. I shall update our war table accordingly. My thanks, Killer. So! Any other business?”
[13:42] Al’Sah (azaereus) held up his hand. ” I have two pieces of business. One is an unafiiliated Killer with his hands dipping into court business, and the other is a proposal to the courts. Which would this conclave hear first?”
[13:44] Byron Greenwood motions to the open area that the table encircles, more to suggest that Al’Sah has the floor rather than demand that he should actually stand. “This conclave will hear which ever you should like to first address, Killer.”
[13:44] Crow (melchior.wardell) had enough to share, still he was uncertain of his own position. And in such he held silent. Perhaps things that would presented today – might give direction to what he still needed to figure out. There was a certain pain from his experience and one he knew most would frown upon. So he would not speak of such. Simply waited for what was presented before them.
[13:44] Obsidian (thom.podlum) was familiar with the points of business. He raised his hand to speak, then quietly commented. ‘The proposal is of greater long term importance, and the unaffiliated killer is perhaps a more immediate matter.’
[13:47] Al’Sah (azaereus) stood and placed his ring covered hands on the table, one of which was his mark of rank and title among his court of Boswell… ” Assassins, Killers. In this very room sit men of the black caste of three separate courts. Each with its own means of thought and training, and parts of our dark work that we are weak in due to splintering thinking, years of degradation, and slowly branching apart manners of caste etiquette. Thus, I wish to propose to the conclave, a Unified Court, with a council of five elected Assassins to bring unison and unity back to our splintered caste.”
[13:53] Obsidian (thom.podlum) had reviewed the preliminary information on the proposal and offered a few comments. ‘I will say that I am in complete favor of gatherings such as this where we can come together and discuss issues we are facing as well as support each other in the training we offer. And for the purpose of perhaps more critical matters, then a court or council that is comprised of a handful of elected and active assassins seems to be a fine idea whose time has come. I would be supportive of such a proposal.’ He sat back, waiting for others to add their voices.
[13:54] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) leaned forward and took in Al’Sah carefully. He had changed over the years, and it had been some time since last he saw the man. He weighed his words carefully. His interest piqued. “To me, that sounds like a good idea. I agree each of our camps have different agendas and criteria, with some being the same, as its evolved over the years. I agree to a unified council. “
[13:54] Byron Greenwood looked to Al’Sah as he spoke, but also heard Obsidian’s comments. Still, while may have been Obsidian’s intent to give direction to his captain, it seemed his captain took his own path. So, he considered the proposal as presented. “The Black Lodge now holds an open conclave every month, welcome to all, where all have an equal voice, with only me acting as chairman. Too, I recall the many attempts at forming a high council within the caste, which all failed. I would ask, then, how would this United Court differ? And would not this conclave serve the same purpose? If not, why not?”
[13:56] Conrad (achlysnightfire): Has said nothing, experience has taught him to listen first. Only when Byron speaks he nods and turns to look towards Al’Sha as Byron’s question is exactly the same he would have asked
[13:57] Nijad (altav2015) just nods silently when Byron speaks.
[13:59] Al’Sah (azaereus) looked towards Scar. ” The Lodge trains deeply in the art of the hunt and the physical work of our caste. Conrad’s court steeps its lads in the history and philosophy of our caste. The Court of Boswell focuses on the political aspects and finer details to carry out our work. We are splintered, but with a Unified Court to vote and consolidate our strengths into a more cohesive regiment for training, we sit here with the numbers to topple cities should we wish to. Instead, I believe that with such a unification, and a more stable cooperation of our courts, our trainees could go from proficient assassins, to Killers of legend. With the knowledge of the hunt from the men of the Lodge, the philosophy and history of those that came before from Conrad’s Court, and the detailed training on politic and rhetoric from Boswell Pass, we could train Killers that make the people below the Sardars fear to wear the black without having earned it again.”
[14:01] Crow (melchior.wardell) remained silent. When he was – he was on his most dangerous side. None truly could tell what he was thinking and none was safe. The coin flipped again as he listens to what he had been hearing for as long as he was in the caste.
Even he had tried to bring the caste together and failed due to ego’s. None truly could let go of what they believed was right. Even in the mere suggestion to unify there was judgment upon those that were no part of it.
“In theory … As ever with the best intent … when everything goes perfect.” he mused – already giving some indication of his line of thinking. [14:03] Al’Sah (azaereus): (c)
[14:05] Al’Sah (azaereus) ” The difference between a United Court and these conclaves, will be the Council of Five. These councilmen would be voted for among all three courts, from the captains and masters of our caste. I do not suggest consolidating our camps into one, but to integrate one another into the training regimes of our caste. For example, lads of the Lodge might come to me to learn the art of tarnsmanship, or to Conrad to learn of the codes in depth. My trainee, Akeshi, might come to the Lodge to learn from Crow the best methods to hunt a target where Killers are unwelcome.”
[14:06] Al’Sah (azaereus) ” The Council’s role in this, would be to work together to create a unified and universal training regime, as well as to come together on matters such as my second point of order once we are complete with this one.”
[14:07] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) felt left out of who could go where and learn from someone. He was best at teaching them to be a cunt. Just like him. This brought back memories of bygone years, when Al’Sah himself was a trainee. How many scars did this man have now. at the hands of Sirius?
[14:08] Byron Greenwood broods on Al’Sah’s answer. “As you say, Killer. I have already sought out both Conrad and Obsidian to agree upon some kind of parity between our training programs, so that the richness of these courts can benefit all. Candidates could freely move between these courts and benefit from their specialities. Candidates that would most benefit from one court or another could be dispatched to that court and be based there. Each court is then promoted, and brought together. And again, there is this conclave, where matters regarding the caste as a whole can be openly discussed. I ask again, how would this United Court differ from what is already in place? At these conclaves, all have an equal voice, with no need of voting. With respect, Killer, why would we need such elected officials?”
[14:11] Al’Sah (azaereus) countered. ” Because in these conclaves, where all are equal in voice, there are oft too many voices to be heard in earnest. I believe this conclave is the start to this unified court, and thus we change its manner to having five voices, rather than the entire crowd. Should your camp vote for you as one of the Five, and I should see no reason that they would not, then it would be your voice that speaks for them, rather than the need for us to filter through every Killer’s wish to speak all at once. In a manner of speaking, it is a means to make these conclaves more concise, and more palatable for all to handle. Much as you and I speak now, we both speak with the heart and backing of those whom we call our Camp Comrades.”
[14:12] Conrad (achlysnightfire): he slowly pushes his chair back and coughs to call for their attention “forgive me, killer, the discussion is very interesting but unfortunately I cannot stay longer. At the moment, I agree with Scar and Crow, I see no need for another structure, our courts are already connected and there is no problem is sending trainees to another court. I have tried to give some lessons open to other court lads, for exmaple” [14:13] Conrad (achlysnightfire): *in sending
[14:13] Obsidian (thom.podlum) looked around the gathering. As usual, the attempt to read the faces of a group of Killers would be fruitless. Instead, he chose to be upfront. ‘My view is this. The unification that Al is speaking of is in alignment with the actions Scar has begun. I believe that Al’s recommendations would take the goal to the next level and would permit several to jointly reach decisions on who might be best able to support different aspects of training. Conrad and I, for instance, have already been jointly training the lad that stands behind him. And we hope to do more of that in the future. If there were such a gathering of five or so representing us all who could work through this, then I believe we would all benefit.’
[14:13] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) looked to Conrad as he readied to depart, ” Gold and steel,Killer”
[14:15] Obsidian (thom.podlum): ‘Gold and steel, Conrad.’
[14:15] Erebus (sagunn): listening he had remained silent. The words shared. Listening as voices around the room provided point of view. Intent. Agreeing or providing different points, thoughts, “Gold and Steel.” offering this with his eyes upon the departing Assassins. Nijad having stood with.
[14:16] Nijad (altav2015) stands as well. He nods a greeting to everyone “Gold and Steel” and follows Conrad.
[14:16] Erin (tracynotme): “I wish all well”
[14:17] Obsidian (thom.podlum): ‘Gold and steel, Nijad.’
[14:17] Alexander Krutschek stood, raised his hand palm inward and inclined his head in a departing gesture. “Do as you all will,” he said in parting. “As I will continue to do as I will. No chosen five or three or two will speak for me. Are we not alone in gold in steel? I say I am, and I go now to be with those.”
[14:18] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) dipped his chin toward Alex, but the man was too quick and had departed before he could utter a word.
[14:19] Byron Greenwood nods to Conrad as he rises, noting his view on the topic at hand. “I wish you well, Killer.” He then considered the further comments. “So, these elected five would speak for all? Can that truly be assured? What of those that might want to speak but would not speak to one of the five? Would their view be ignored, or would the five be compelled to draw them forth? If so summoned, is that fellow not adding an extra voice to the five? Again, we tried many forms of councils in the past. They failed. Largely due to such reasons I suggest here. Can you explain the form and function of your proposed five a little more?”
[14:23] Crow (melchior.wardell) heard the same questions and would most likely hear the same answers. “I understand your intent, Killer.” he stated to Al’Sah “And I can imagine that me not supporting it might look to you as if I feel you are in the wrong. In an ideal world this would be awesome. Recommended, supported, I would even wear its banner. But unfortunately there are so many influences you can not control. It would tire those that are chosen. Even to chose a moment in which we can meet is already a pain in the ass.”
[14:24] Al’Sah (azaereus) frowned as the words of many whom had spoken of egos was slowly becoming apparent, and he would speak freely of such. ” If one would speak before the Five, then they may stand before the council to offer their considerations or grievances. The point of the Council of Five would be to have the caste with a unified understanding of how we operate not just in training but in action among the populace of Gor and its cities. Where Sirius might hold one view, I might hold another, and these two views may be so differing in manner that it causes rifts to form, pride to swell, and schisms in our caste to splinter us further. It is why, to put it bluntly, our caste is starving for contracts, and it is the bottom of the barrel for trainees filtering into our training. With a council made up of seasoned Assassins from the three main courts to deliberate the considerations of our caste members,” He then looked to Crow. ” With Five chosen voices from among us to speak on our behalf, then it is only five Assassins whom need to meet. Not ten, twenty, thirty….”
[14:25] Obsidian (thom.podlum) leaned forward and spoke in a quiet voice. ‘Allow a question, if you will. For those not of the GBC, how many of you know what I consider my strongest training topic? I have a feeling few do and yet I would be happy to offer this topic to any trainees who were sent by their mentors.’
[14:32] Crow (melchior.wardell) nodded “I know, Killer.” he replied “But it will never be my voice. Since I will not take my place in that council or at that table. I always did the leg work. Not the throne. Those that might feel the ambition to do so, one might wonder why one would do so. Is it because they feel themselves superior ? Do they feel they need to push the caste to a higher standard as it now is ? Every answer to these questions is one that might harm it more than your intent has for it.” he answers. As to the question of Obs he held silent – he had the fortune to learn from him and speak on many matters. There was a tremendous respect there.
[14:35] Byron Greenwood considers further. “But who would listen to these five? Would these five make policy for others to follow? The Black Lodge welcomes all within the caste. It does not set policy for the caste. Any that come to this conclave has an equal say, and is listened to. If something is decided here, it is decided between those that are present. No one is dispatched to bring orders from the Black Lodge to do this thing or that. When I send messengers out, it is to bring news of what the Black Lodge has done in the hope that others will listen to it. We do not demand anything of any court. If a court, or any member of it, has something to share, they can freely come to a conclave. You see where I’m going with this? I have a counter proposal for you. What if these conclaves moved from one court to another, rotating between them. One month here, one month there, and so on. The master of that month’s court becomes the conclave chairman for that conclave. How’s that sound?”
[14:36] Al’Sah (azaereus) stood from the table and entered the center ring, pulling out shieves of parchment, which he passed among the Killers. ” Allow me to first give you this in writing, but second to offer you the second matter I had to bring to this conclave…. And use it as an example of why I believe a Council is necessary. Recently a trainee of mine has been absent, and I have found since that the lad has gone to train with another Assassin. One whom we can find no trace of their training among our caste. I ask you, Killers of both Lodge and Boswell Pass… How do we handle this matter? Surely the lad must die for this action, but what of this supposed Assassin? Is he worthy of recognition to call himself an Assassin? Or is he a mercenary masquerading as a Black Caste? Whom among us do we feel fit to decide?”
[14:41] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) thanked Al’Sah as he received the parchment. “Allow me a moment to read this.”
[14:42] Byron Greenwood accepts the scroll offered to him with a respectful nod of thanks. He will be sure to read it in detail later on. “Much to to consider here, I feel. Perhaps, for now, we should all agree that this proposal for a United Court was generally positively received, but there still remains much to be debated upon. Perhaps at the next conclave. For now, let us move on to this new topic, since it relates, perhaps,. to the first. I will ask, who is this candidate that abandoned his training at, I assume, the GBC, to then find another to train him. And who is this unrecognised assassin?”
[14:43] Erebus (sagunn): “As far as your…trainee is concerned. That is your decision. Had he come to me I would have dragged him back before you, conscious or unconscious as I have expressed already.” providing this in response to, unrolling the scroll to read it over after a time. Scar’s own questions on the same subject spoken upon.
[14:45] Obsidian (thom.podlum) took the parchment and offered Al a nod. Then he looked to the rest who were still present. ‘Regretfully, I must depart. But I would like to recommend that Al’s proposal sit with us all for the next period and that we come back to this when we meet again if there is interest. Perhaps it needs refining. Or perhaps there is simply no interest. This is up to the group. However, I must depart now for I have others with needs waiting for me. Al, you may speak for the GBC in my absence.’ Obs rose and held his fist to his chest and then vanished.
[14:46] Al’Sah (azaereus) looked among the Killers that now surrounded him, rather than those at the same table. ” The trainee, named Abyss, was one of mine. The trainee’s life is forfeit once I find him. That is without question… What I bring to you today pertains to the unrecognized assassin, Tyrtaios… A fitting name, as the histories describe one named thus, whom failed this caste twice. We can find no records of him training among any of the courts that still stand today, nor any that have since disbanded. We have, however, found a link with a trainee of Boswell Pass whom had failed, and their initial carved onto our Wall of Lost Souls. We can neither confirm nor deny that this Tyrtaios is the lad formerly known as Vigor, but the connection is there.” He would give Obsidian a silent, but respectful nod. ” Gold and Steel, Killer.”
[14:50] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) looked up from reading. He recalled Vigor. His brows furled. “It is something to address. Should this failed trainee be found, then I agree he should be killed for abandoning training. This other matter of a killer Tyratos, or however you say his name. I am also game to bring him to a stand, in order to recognize him as a killer. “
[14:52] Myrddin (drizantlar.veriander) thumps his fingers against the table pondering his thoughts and then speaks “This is a tricky situation one I am trying to remain outside due to ‘issues’ there are between myself and the lad who went to him to be trained by him. My point is this.. if a killer unknown to us shows up and wants to be a killer, we really can’t say no overall. Everyone has a right to be what and who they want to be. It would be unfortunate to not avail themselves of the potential background as well as acknowledgment and ability to build a story that training provides, but there are those who only want instant gratification. I see no issues of said man decides they want to go and be off by themselves, isn’t making a mockery of themselves and causing issues which would affect all of us then that’s a issue..If the man is openly and vocally questioning or disrespecting other killers or is what I want to call as close to the military version of ‘stolen valor’ then that’s a issue… That’s my stance on a situation where a killer shows up who cannot or has not been vetted. “
[14:57] Byron Greenwood respectfully acknowledge Obsidian as he stood. “I wish you well, Killer.” He then considered Al’Sah’s words once more. “With regard to the candidate, I concur with Erebus here. How you or your court deals with candidates that forsake their mentor or his court is a matter best left to your court and its master. At the Lodge, we kill all those that abandon training, and dispatch word of that execution to every court the Lodge is aware of. -All- of them. Such courts may do with this news as they wish. As for this… so-named assassin, I have heard of him. And can say nothing good about him. In the past, the Lodge would, as Sirius suggests, go forth and hunt this man, to bring him to a stand, where as many members of as many courts would could muster would be present. They would then judge his merit. If he failed his stand, he would be offered proper training. If he refused this offer, he would be slain. If he was judged well, his endorsement would be that stand. That, though, was in the past, in days when the caste was stronger than now. I’m not sure such action would be looked upon with favour now. But I am open to comment on that. Perhaps would might be better to only act if this so named assassin actually insults the caste? And that insult can be proven? With hard evidence?”
[15:03] Al’Sah (azaereus) motioned to Byron. ” The trainee is as good as dead. That is neither here nor there. But I do believe that the man Tyrtaios should be placed before a Stand. The question there stands, whom will sit upon the stand to test his worthiness? Should this man be left to his own devices and then decide to, lets say, randomly commit murders to cure his boredom in the guise of a contracted hunt? That leaves our caste as a whole to take the blame. We’ve all heard it from the city administrations before: ‘ Why is this Killer acting like this? What do you mean he’s not one of yours? We don’t care if he isn’t trained by you, he’s a Killer, and all Killers must surely know one another.’ We may not be as large and as potent as we once were, but to put it simply, our world as a whole is in the same place. Just because our caste is smaller now than it was before, does not mean we should allow those whom have no business wearing the Black, do so. As to evidence for this man’s involvements in less than acceptable dealings,
[15:03] Al’Sah (azaereus): he has been seen with the trainee Abyss multiple times, teaching the boy without the knowledge of his camp. He has also been very vocal in his denouncement of not just the Court of Boswell Pass, but of all courts currently in operation. Claiming that we have lost our way, and that it is to himself and the old way that he will abide….”
[15:08] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) looked down at the mass of scrolls on his desk as he listened. Shaking his head with a sigh. ” These men of late, bouncing around camps, and (going ooc) – and causing issues, and denouncing all of our camps.. It really has come to an empasse where we need to decide, in order to save face, who can be a killer. reminds me of the days when only certain groups , verified , could only hunt and kill in a city. The city administrators, now, would be open to anyone doing a role. But then complain when the person they allowed to do a thing, doesnt do it right.”
[15:13] Erebus (sagunn): rising from his seat “In addition to the answer, the thoughts provided.” motioning to Scar, “This Assassin, at least to my knowledge has all but turned in to dust in the wind. The suggested course, if he becomes a problem seems logical. Practical. If he will attend the suggested stand when offered. Several voices have spoken upon with encounters that speak upon a bad reputation had by Tyrtaios.” hearing Al’Sah out as he provided additional knowledge regarding the actions of the Assassin claiming caste. Sirius’ words offering his own view based on experiences, “This subject can be discussed all night, and while it has merit in that it needs visited with both the trainee and the Assassin must have a known location. You speak of Tyrtaios talking about the different courts, have you knowledge of this then?”
[15:15] Byron Greenwood scoffs at his mention of some ‘old way’. “I’ve heard many speak of this ‘old way’. Let me tell you, I know most of those that were masters in this so called ‘old way’. In fact, the many names of this so-named assassin were presented to to the Lodge by one of those masters of the ‘old way’, along with a warning about him. I speak of Taavon, here. I was around when this ‘old way’ became the ‘new way’. I have lieutenants that came not long after me. Anyway. As I see it, this candidate insulted you, personally, and through that, insulted your court. This assassin insulted you by accepting the candidate. Your court should bring to a stand. If called to such a stand to aid in judgement, the Lodge would answer. Just as many answered the Lodge’s call before, in the past. As for assassins failing in their duty, I would again suggest evidence be collected and used to consider what should best be done. The caste as tried to police its membership before. I never want to see it do so again in the way it did before. I will fight against that. Every time. But a stand seems fairest to me. That is my view on this.”
[15:21] Al’Sah (azaereus) looked to Byron. ” And this the first point of order ties into the second… I bring this to this conclave out of respect and my true belief that the courts should be unified in our ways. I could have, and will, absolutely, Kill the trainee. I could have, and will, Kill the unrecognized one known as Tyrtaios… But. I believe that this is something that effects not just the Court of Boswell, but The Black Lodge, the Sable Lodge, and all whom wear this dark tunic. Would we let our pride and ego say that it is not our business if one of our own is lambasted?” Al’Sah would then pull out another piece of parchment, and begin to read from it aloud. ” Here in is from a missive sent to me by Tyrtaios after his arrogant theft of our trainee…. ‘ My training predates anything written or re-written by Assassins who wished to add their improvements to a system that didn’t require such. The training of old was a standard every killer should have attained and maintained, almost all who attained it failed to maintain it. When I walked on the sacred ground of that arena, or let my black flag fly over my tent. Every time I greeted Torrid on the docks I affirmed my agreement to maintain the standard I was taught and the codes of my caste. This is what I teach, as every camp should be. And if the killer has done what is required and has the Poit complete correctly the mark can toss their toys out the crib, piss in their diaper and cry about it all night long. IT will not change the outcome’. So will the Black Lodge allow an upstart man wearing our colors, to call them children pissing in their diapers? I know that I nor the Court of Boswell will.” [15:21] Al’Sah (azaereus): (c) [15:22] Al’Sah (azaereus) ” And thus, I say again… Will the Black Lodge stand with the Court of Boswell, to rectify this problem?”
[15:32] Byron Greenwood scoffs again, and almost laughs when one term was mentioned. “And so come the lies of this so-named assassin. The term PTOIT (Planning, Tracking, Observation and Investigation Training) actually comes from the first -written- training program, as fashioned at Black Caste Isle. Before that, training was done by word of mouth. If he pre-dates all that, as he claims, why then does some that -actually- pre-dates them, namely Taavon, denounce him? You have, though, evidence of him insulting the caste. Present it at the stand you call, when you have brought him to it, and we will use it in judgement upon him. -This- would be my answer to the unity you seek. The Lodge would come to that stand. I’m sure the Sable Caste would too. As might others. This fellow would then see the united caste before him. As would you. You follow?”
[15:34] Al’Sah (azaereus) gave a sly smirk as he understood his fellow Killer’s intended words. ” It is a start… But a welcome one. I will send messengers to the courts when the time comes.” Sah would offer the gathering a bow of his head in respectful thanks for their time, before sitting again and conceding the floor to further matters
[15:36] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) blinked as words were exchanged. Taking a piece of cloth , he dabbed at his ears. and the side of his face, where his brains had leaked out. He was at a loss for words since that part of his brain was now in a puddle on his lap. Once he gained the will to speak again, he offered. “Ill support all what was said. when a stand is presented, I too will participate.”
[15:39] Byron Greenwood takes note that Al’Sah reclaimed his seat. “Very well. Let his stand be the first example of the proposed unity, and we can, if that stand happens before the next conclave, debate on how that went, to prosper talks on your first proposal of a United Court. Indeed, you might well have four renown courts attend that stand, since Sirius here presides over what was and is the BCTC. We shall await word of this stand when called. Now! Is there any further business?”
[15:41] Crow (melchior.wardell) arched a brow “Killer.” he turned to Sirius “In all truth … Scar already made a statement for the lodge. Which makes it already that he …” he paused “ruled without consulting our decisions. ” he stated.
He would look at Al’Sah “I will lay down my rank and keep my tent, and you can count on my when it comes to this stand.”
[15:44] Byron Greenwood looked to Crow at this. “If you would have ruled otherwise, why do you say you will attend the stand I said the Lodge would already attend? A stand your comrade, Sirius, also said he would make himself known at? You have some other view that might change my mind?”
[15:44] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) looked over at Crow, and dipped his head with respect. They had been discussing such for awhile now, in private. He looked over at Scar, and taking a deep breath. “It has been some time now that as much as i try to hold things together with Crow, I for one, as i cant speak for Crow, that I too, will lay down my rank. If you allow me to remain in a tent here, I will once again raise the BCTC as my standard.”
[15:48] Crow (melchior.wardell) would regard Scar “This is far more than this stand or this conclave.” he starts. “You took this court as its master. With the support of those within it. You have not reached out. Did not talk nor kept in contact. We were pretty much left to our own. I am sick of doing the work and not be considered or consulted. You want to rule – rule it – but no longer with me in your ranks.” his voice was serious with no anger to it.
[15:56] Al’Sah (azaereus) sat back and kept his mouth shut. This was Lodge business now
[15:57] Snow (malikai.alecto) entered the room, moving nearly silently on booted feet, making his way toward an open seat. He slid in with only the slightest clanking of his gladius against the back of his chair, reaching to place the folded page that had summoned him here on the table. It was a grave issue to draw the hermit assassin from his solace to be here among his own kind, peopling like the verb it had become.
[15:58] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) he nodded at Snow, now the 3 sons of Serpent sat together. It had been sometime since they were together. He leaned to his right, and whispered to update Snow on all that was discussed.
[16:04] Byron Greenwood prospered a respectful nod to both Crow and Sirius in turn. “The Lodge’s tents are always available to those assassins that have good standing, no matter what court or allegiance they might have. You will always be welcome here. If you would renounce your ranks in the Lodge, I will abide by your wishes, with no ill feeling. Your service to the Lodge has been honourable, and will not be easily forgotten. I will say this, in answer to your statement, Crow. You had the rank to make decisions. Such decisions I would stand by, since, given your rank, you had my trust to act in ways I would support.Indeed, I again note you both stated you would attend a stand I said the Lodge you attend. If you wanted more recognition for your efforts, you only had to mention it. I didn’t garner men that needed my input on everything. I garnered men that could do things on their own. And do them well. Besides, the Lodge’s mission, here, was and is merely to provide a haven for the caste as a whole. -My- mission is the same as it always was, to preserve the methods laid down by the Black Caste Isle. ‘Took the Lodge as its master’ you say. I think you rather re-write history, there. But, no matter. I hold few grudges.”
[16:07] Snow (malikai.alecto) leans forward, squinting toward Scar’s familiar form, nodding as he absorbed the news. Here it was, those pink eyes that made him a living trope rolled so far back into his skull his mother had told him once they’d get stuck like that. He didn’t even bother to mutter, he just spoke the words with his usual candor. “I know my eyesight is not what it once was. But are you actually sitting there, ruling for our entire caste while wearing a fucking crown?” He didn’t care that Scar had just barely gotten his own respectful words out of his mouth, he was unhappy and it showed in his every terse word. “I come to do in service to my caste to find you as an Ubar, crowned? Please tell me I have finally tipped over the edge of madness, and left reason behind. Just want to make sure I’ve got it right so that I can fully appreciate this moment.”
[16:11] Crow (melchior.wardell) would listen with the intent to hear what was shared. As the man spoke he said nothing new. Nothing he had not anticipated. “Oh I expected you to say this.” he replied coldly “Tell me if you gave me so much trust … why not give the rank of the court master to the one that is there ?” he asks – as a mere suggestion. “Someone that truly builds relations with those out there. “Is it not you that took the largest house within this fortress? You wish the benefits and than just tell me I was like trusted with anything that was yours?” he would lift himself to stand. “I do not try to rewrite history nor am I very good with words … But I know what I see.”
When Snow intervened Crow arched a brow in surprise or was it really surprise ?
[16:16] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) had also felt a tad neutered , though he did feel some autonomy in his rank. ” I will always stand with my brothers. whether by blood or caste. ” It helped some that Crow and Snow were both bio brothers thru Serpent. ” We never see you.. and therein lies the issue, I believe. You come for meetings, but have not been present here (or in discord until recently). We still have to report to you when you have been vacant for so long. I do appreciate your words, that we would still be welcome here and part of the Lodge, even under a different banner. I will always be there to help. and teach the next generation.”
[16:19] Byron Greenwood smiled thinly at Snow. “Ahah, Snow. How -fascinating- that you should suddenly appear when this matter is being discussed. A matter that would have been better addressed within the Lodge rather than at a full conclave. But, since you were so -kind- enough to spit out the same vitriol of old, lacking in originality, I will answer it. I recall Vincent coming to me to say the same thing as you, and he did the same to Solomon as well. -He- left satisfied in both cases. I have -never- spoken for the caste. I have only spoken for myself. The Lodge has never been about presiding over the caste, but offer a haven for it. I rule only over my court. Not the caste as a whole. As for the villa, Crow, I gave you and Arsus one. That you filled. And then never used. Preferring the tents instead. And would I give my court to another to rule? Perhaps. But then, you just decided to step down. So, it’s not going to be -you- now, is it:? As for being absent, you always had the option and means to send a message to me. Still. Perhaps you were too busy to be bothered, eh? I understand.”
[16:24] Al’Sah (azaereus) sat back and stayed quiet. It was still a matter of the Lodge mostly… But that of one court, was in truth, a matter of caste, so he listened intently… Though the silence would be broken with the soft munching of trail nuts smuggled from under Sah’s… admittedly… revealing tunic choice.
[16:24] Crow (melchior.wardell) stood there looking down upon him “When would I had the time to discuss these matters with you ?” he asks. But he would wave his hand “Don’t answer. I know it was unfortunately not the past hands.” he added.
“I am not here to make this some mean girls club.” no pun intended. “But I am one that calls what I see. I have always done that. I even dare say that partly due to that – you were able to build this.” he stated. “But I do not come here for the largest villa, the rank or the pet on the back. I was here because this would be a joint venture and it was not. I wish you greatness with it.” he would take the sash and place it upon the table. “
[16:30] Snow (malikai.alecto) tipped his head to the side, listening as he nodded, as though in agreement. “Is it vitriol if it is truth? You sit crowned in apparent victory. Let us set aside the vitriol. I came to discuss, not challenge the unarmed to combat of wits. I have been busy. Doing my actual job. Killing people. You should try it sometimes. Does wonders for the wallet.”
He gave a firm nod, a polite inclining of his head. “I stand with my brothers. And do not forget … who we come from, where we inherited our literal and figurative steel.” He slowly rose to his feet, leaning to place his palms on the table flat, his voice no longer holding even a hint of humor. “True leadership begins with service, not edicts.”
[16:36] Byron Greenwood leaves the sash where it was placed, without comment upon it. Instead, he looked to Al’Sah. “You still want unity, Killer? Well, here it is.” But he then regarded Crow once more. “Again, I remind you that you said you will attend the same stand as I said the Lodge would attend. But, you are right. Perhaps it was not a joint venture here, this time around. Perhaps you did most of all. But, then, is that still not really a joint venture, when one person did the most? I had it mind that the efforts of all would aid in the whole, and when one person could not lend a hand, another to rise up to help things along. But I suppose it is easier to accuse one of being an Ubar than to be mature about things and consider a brotherhood. A court. A caste.” He then narrowed his gaze on Snow. “Have a care, Snow. You’re starting to sound like my partner of old. I suggest, if you actually -do- have something to discuss, you raise the topic. Otherwise, perhaps we should call this conclave to a close, unless there is any other business to consider?”
[16:40] Al’Sah (azaereus) looked to Byron and said in pure honesty. ” The Unified Council is meant to prevent things such as this. Speaking as Killers to our Councilmen, whom then speak for us. If you wish for the thoughts of the Killers of Boswell Pass, I speak knowing that those whom are here with me, and those whom are not, are of one mind in almost all that we do. Little happens within our Court that is not discussed among its members.” Was his simple reply. ” We men of The Black Caste. The business of one court, is the business of All.”
[16:40] Crow (melchior.wardell) would not fuel it and simply dipped his head once to Scar. He would raise his palm up to others. “I wish you well. Gold and Steel.” he stated. He would turn and leave the court. A room in which he had dared to dream of unity. Dream of joint effort.
Perhaps there was some recognition in the words shared but it was too little too late for Crow.
He would take the coin once more – flip it – and made the choice to walk out.
[06:13] Crow (melchior.wardell) moved through the camp as this slithering snake. Silent but aware of his surroundings by keeping his senses sharp and alert. When he moved into the candidates tents he was not surprised of Ember being there. He had become a more regular face while other candidates seemed to be lost in action or hiding afraid to face their mistakes. Training was harsh and uncompromising. “Tal, Ember. I learned you returned from your mission and so it seems still complete.” he pointed to the yellow sash. “Seems you need that one replaced with this one.” he would take a orange sash from his belt and handed it over to him. “Another task accomplished.” it was as far as a compliment Crow was able to give.
[06:27] Crow (melchior.wardell) could see some pride in his eyes and would not address them. Some pride in his tasks was not a bad thing, but when Pride would come to a level to forget your place or have it run your actions Crow would beat it out of him. “The next task is not as smooth I reckon. I found it one of the most difficult ones.” he admitted. “It will show you that there is far more to it than simply slice a throat.”
[06:29] Ember: “Killer I will face the task, no matter how difficult it will be.”
[06:38] Crow (melchior.wardell) would shrug “Your life depends on it.” he replied to him with a tone that must have felt as a challenge. He would turn slightly “Come … I want to show you something.”
[06:43] Ember: pointed at the dragon “Who feeds the beast? I saw him while we were still cleaning up the mess. He doesn’t seem to think much of daylight. Is he blind?”
[06:48] Crow (melchior.wardell) would watch Ember as he was faced with one of the most secretive creatures that lived. There were only hints of their existence but very little proof of them. And here he faced one. Crow too had been shocked when he was faced with it once. “It feeds itself. ” he replied dryly. “But in truth … I did not take you here because of the dragon but the gold and gems you see here.” he shared. “This gold is earned and not spent … reason is that many will not accept our blood money as they call it. This represents all the lives we took and the treasure it brings and yet …. ” he would turn to Ember “What would you do with all this money ?”
[06:51] Ember: “Killer, I don’t know. I would continue to live modestly, maybe buy high-quality weapons, have them made exactly for me. Maybe use them to buy people with information.”
[06:55] Crow (melchior.wardell) would watch Ember and nodded “Well take what you need for your weaponry. Since … you will need it with your next task. Make sure you are practiced since this kill task will test if you are indeed ready for anything that comes your way. Including steel and arrows.”
[06:58] Ember: bent down and took 3 gold coins. I can use them to pay the best of the best blacksmiths. I will need a dagger, a crossbow or bow and arrow, a sword and a long weapon, like a spear. Can you advise me on specific weapons?”
[07:01] Crow (melchior.wardell) would watch how he took the coins. And shrugged “The thing is that every assassin has his own preferences. I myself work best with my daggers and gladius. But others enjoy their crossbow and spear. Every piece has his advantages and disadvantages. And I need to meet the one that excelled in all of them. So practice with all these weapons and see what suits you best.” he would look back to the dragon again. “I am in closed combat … although I did kill one of my marks with one bolt from a cylinder in Ar.” he recounted. “But that was more luck as I tried to stop him from moving to finish it with my dagger.”
[07:04] Ember: “I haven’t fought much so far. As a thief, it was always smarter to run away and leave the loot lying around in an emergency. Fighting a well-trained guard for a few necklaces was always too exhausting for me.”
[07:07] Crow (melchior.wardell) nodded “Well than … find that black smith – obtain the weaponry and practice. Find all those that wish to train you. Some can be excellent with their gladius others with their fists or even daggers. Train as often as you can. But remember … Find those in the caste that are excellent fighters. ((learn metered combat, dice combat and if you dare roleplay combat.))
[07:10] Ember: “When is this task considered completed? When I have completed all the different training sessions?”
[07:13] Crow (melchior.wardell) shook his head “No, the task is considered complete when you were able to complete a mockkill.” he replied. “Now you are more and more aware of all the difficulties there is more upon your shoulders. You will have to decide when you are ready for such a task. Since when you earn the livery … that decision is the most difficult one to make. So consider that part of this task. So when you feel you have mastered several skills. You come to me and I will arrange a mockkill for you.”
[07:16] Ember: nodded slowly and would take his time with the task. “I will work on my dexterity and refine my martial arts. And I am aware that I am not a warrior and my planning must be absolutely efficient to make the kill quickly and without much fighting. “
[07:18] Crow (melchior.wardell) would wave his hand as to leave the dragon so they would not anger it further. “There is also the codes and laws. Study them too. We are not butchers or men that kill just because. We kill with reason but also within the confines of law and codes. Make sure you know them by heart.” ((sim rules – try to find the differences between them. There is a certain degree of uniformity but there are differences.))
[07:23] Ember: “the Kodizies? no poison, do the kill yourself, kill only for gold, have no home stone, have no family, have the Dagger on your forehead when you kill and wear the black of the Assassins?” were they more or less, he didn’t remember exactly
[12:44] Erebus (sagunn): “Of course.” a nod to Crow with his answer, studying Haru when she spoke of Nova, “I know you will be quite the challenge.” with Nova coming out of his tent with the flaps opening as he began to eat, “Does the woman still tread the grounds of the Lodge yet? If she has left without my knowledge I am not playing hunt the Physician.” his own matters to attend to, quickly finishing the stew then to drink of the black wine slowly. “Is there any other matters which need looked in to?”
[12:45] Serennova (mysticgypsysoul) came from her Masters tent, she rubbed her eyes after having finished cleaning the tent. She’d glance over the firepits to see her master nearby, then her eyes mved to Crow and Haru smiling gently. She’d wait to see what was going on before her approach, if she was needed to go do anything, but decided against it and came to Erebus’s side remaining silent in case Crow and he were speaking.
[12:49] Crow (melchior.wardell) would cut a glance when Erebus spoke of his own matters and if the woman left the grounds of the lodge. “What ?” he asks. There was an edge in his voice – one he had added with consideration. “Are you aware of what you might be facing ?” he added “Remember that your life has been questioned.” he stated. If he agreed with it would not yet be discussed. Surely such was when the court was in session. “If that woman walks with not that much consequence – might be very much in your advantage would it not ?” he questions him further. He noted Nova and winked towards the girl – clearly able to switch from the stern killer to the one with that amicable feel to him.
[12:50] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would smile and dip her head at Erebus’ observation. “Of course, Master,” she says in her soft tones. “But the player does still have a good chance at winning.” Berserker. Surely they were talking about Berseker, right? Haru’s favourite game. Seeing Nova approach, she would throw her a wink and a wiggle of fingers. ‘Tal beauty,” she would chirp in gentle notes, listening to the two men as the topic shifted back once more.
[12:55] Erebus (sagunn): “I understand you, yet I can not control a whole population of people. If she decides to walk, to travel. To who knows where, without leaving knowledge of her whereabouts she is not a child. She chose to come here, she has received care. I have told you I am looking in to the matter of restoring the use of the fingers, yet if she is not around to be given this knowledge. Communicated with. She could be anywhere.” looking to Crow sharply, analyzing him, “My life has been questioned, by an Assassin. Who I have never met, who has in turn claimed a woman for a companion. Who breaks the very codes he threatens to use to end my own existence. A bit of a contradiction there. Yet, I will do what I can. If the woman walks on her own two feet, much like she chose to wave around a poison pin like a child with a toy. Whether in her right mind, or not, as a Physician even. I will hold her to the same standard for lack of thought that I am being held accountable.” hearing Haru’s answer to the conversation. His own responses and stated course of action logical. Planned. Being acted upon as he had expressed.
[13:00] Serennova (mysticgypsysoul) she’d wiggle her fingers back at Haru blowing her a little affectionate kiss, and return of Crows wink a non verbal greeting for the pair. Her gaze shifted to look at her Masters profile, she knew that she was not allowed to touch him so being near him was good enough. But the seriousness of the conversation made her brows furrow she wasn’t privy as to what had gone on or had been done so it surprised her that his life was being threatened and that immediately cheesed her off but she would not allow it to show much save for the slight adjustment of brows.
[13:00] Crow (melchior.wardell) would jump from his chair “SILENCE !” he shouted to him “How dare you ! You have not been informed about the killer that was approached.” he spat “And regardless of what this killer has done OR has not done … it does not erase the fact your actions are frowned upon by the teachings of the Lodge.” he added. He would approach him “Your lack of awareness is compelling.” Crows eyes narrowed. There were two sides to him – and this was the side you wanted to avoid at all costs. His hands would be tensed in fists as he would stand before the man – in a threatening manner. “As a killer we can find someone by the mere air they breath … A woman traveling from the Lodge … will not be that difficult to find. Her health has become your priority. Since it is YOU that took it from her in a manner that could have our caste in a bad light. IS THIS CLEAR !?” he boomed.
[13:05] Erebus (sagunn): “Actually I do know. And if you wish me to be silent. Then I shall, but do you think I provided you the information I have without looking in to things? That I simply learned only what I provided you?” looking Crow dead in the eye, “I am standing here, and I am acting to right the action. I have not fled. Nor vanished. Simply left the Lodge without a word. Perhaps your lack of awareness of my knowledge needs considered.” he didn’t raise his voice, nor flinch. Standing his ground. Calm. Inside him, behind the eyes storm clouds brewed yet he maintained his composure, “As I expressed I am looking in to my end of things, and I will do the work I know how to.” weighing the final words Crow spoke, there was not silence with which to answer this. Let the mans reaction be what it would.
[13:08] Serennova (mysticgypsysoul) as crow launched himself out of his chair and stalked towards her master she’d jump back, the booming his his voice was startling, something she’d never heard from crow. This matter was not hers to comment upon but she’d look from one to the other clear concern as her gaze moved then to Haru. Then back to the pair of killers before her..
[13:09] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would blink as her master got up and went over, almost shrinking down. She did not enjoy seeing her master mad, even if it wasn’t at her. Still, she stood to her feet after a moment, should she be required, her dark hues flickering from one man to the other and then over to Nova, offering her a supportive smile.
[13:14] Crow (melchior.wardell) eyes grew larger as to express his astonishment. “Look into things? What kind of things? You think that your actions needed you to look into things ? Into who brought the information?” his voice was dripping of anger sarcasm. “This entire conversation should not be needed. It is a blemish upon your position, that of the lodge and every ranked officer in it. The fact you dare to debate it makes it even worse.” again his spit flew all kind of directions. In anger there was nothing of the amicable man. It showed the violent and demonic side of a man that had been tormented and shaped over the years in his trade. “Regardless of what the woman did, Regardless of who spoke of this crime. YOUR head could be on a spike as an example for all killers that feel they can just do as they please when faced with another that does not comply.” Crow could still control his emotions but would not disguise them now. As he locked his eyes to that of Erebus “You better be ready … for when you are faced with the ranked officers that might feel your actions might reflect badly upon them.” he would than raise his hand as if he was to lunge but of course he did not. He would get his soon enough.
[13:22] Erebus (sagunn): stood there and listened to Crow. As answered he would remain quiet. Looking the Killer in the eyes as spit flew in his face. His questions left unspoken, without reply, for a time. “I don’t betray my sources, nor my actions when it comes to information I seek. Nor would I expect you to. If someone is going to come to you, with the name Tybarius, and Erebus, provided by a woman who NEVER heard it.” raising his voice in that moment, “You better believe, using the skills I possess, whether I cut her hand off or not I’m going to check out the story of any one and every one in the location the information it came out of. And if you insist I track down a woman who might leave on her own accord, then you can respect that I make myself aware of the details of the interaction between her and and anyone else. When I stand before the council of the Lodge, and face the officers. I will know and have the knowledge. The proof of all of it. Whether you find my actions crass, unbecoming or not. I, even on a contract
[13:22] Erebus (sagunn): following the standards of the Lodge. Verify the information, the name of the mark. Learn it myself. And for someone to claim to know my name as a disguise, and my name as an Assassin. They better damn well have the records just the same to back it up coming here wanting to put my head on a spike. Or damn them as well. And I will stick to this statement as much as it is my right to do so. Lodge Assassin or not, and you better be sure all is in order for you having put this in action as well. Lieutenant. I stand here before you, accepting full responsibility for my actions.” leaving the unspoken words that every one else better damn well be able to back up their actions and be held accountable.
[13:28] Crow (melchior.wardell) now narrowed his eyes “Truly … so now you question the entire situation – One you have admitted to me – by your doing ?” he shook his head “The fact you even venture this path … ” he warned “So you want to cry wolf – You want to truly cry wolf ? Will you dare to do so ? Since … if you cry wolf and question an entire court after you admitted maiming the woman in my office … You show me a colour that makes me even question not only your rank but your livery !” he now pushed him back. “It would have suited you better to accept leadership here now … But no you question it and you question why these men rather have your head on a pike ?” he shook his head “This will be a problem.”
[13:34] Erebus (sagunn): “You asked me questions. And yes, I find fault with hypocrisy. Whether or not I admit to my actions or not. A lie, deception is still a lie. When the Caste values truth. So you can ask yourself this, is it the one who stands before you that owned up to his actions that you find fault with? Or is it the fact that I call those who would conduct themselves in a manner that I would also be crucified for? And if that is enough said, I will leave it at that. I am taking the actions to right my wrong. And I represent myself in everything I do, no torturer had to be employed for you to get an answer from me. I told you point blank.” considering Crows words, “I don’t question the reason, I question their morals. Their practices. Their conduct. As much as my own is in question. They are held to the same standards and if they are not then it is doubled. Which once again leads to the same path. He who will accept and conduct his work with unconfirmed information also leaves a stain on the Caste of Assassin.” waiting then to see if any more words would be shared between them.
[13:39] Crow (melchior.wardell) pointed “I was approached while I was merely visiting Tyros. By one killer. He shared a story. A killer that has earned his livery.” he questioned. “A man not of this court. But a killer nevertheless. The man told me a story which I investigated as I myself did not take it on face value.” he stated. “I have invested my time and effort in the idea I would find something that would have the life of the woman at the end of my blade. That much trust I had that the outcome would be in YOUR favor. Since you were trained in this Lodge. To a standard that is considered one of the best.” he looked back to Haru “I have spoken to more than this killer that shared the story. Including the lady Yoko. She too expected that the woman attacked you and you acted out of self defense. By YOUR answers this was not the case. So tell me – Who do I have to question ? The one that shared the story?” his index finger pointed “Come of your high tharlarion and hear the music. See it from my point of view and do me justice OR will you do me no justice and cry Wolf ?”
[13:00] Poundcake watches the huge foot on her thigh, mesmerized by the sheer size of it encased in the man’s sandals. Well-manicured toes. Surely the man has tons of slaves if he is so well groomed! ‘Would master like girl to remove the sandal and rub the foot?’
The offer is merely to fill the blanks while her brain churns. The philosophy of life, the coming and the goings make the slave a tad pensive. Though the master mentions these things in casual conversation, she cannot help but understand them through her current lens. Snapping out of her reverie ~ perhaps a mind game by a seasoned master ~ the girl looks up and smiles warmly. ‘Foot massage?’
[13:04] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) followed along behind her master, hearing those words. By the kings she could do with a foot massage herself, but la kajira; it was her job to give such, not receive. Her master could have one any time he wanted though she would be sure to wash them first if he’d been wearing the same boots for a while from travel. Please. Still, he would feel that slight, discrete touch of her fingers through his cloak as if affirming this with him. Not speaking, though, until he would speak.
[13:05] Elom Vaeren looking to the slave he shook his head, he took care of his feet as best he could considering they were the main part of the body that was mostly used. He looked up to the two who arrived, looking to Poundcake..he motioned with a movement of his head for her to move as he stood up looking at the man and his property “Tal, What can I do for you?” he looked to the man-
[13:07] Crow (melchior.wardell) would move to the familiar shop as he noted others in the shop. His keen eyes fall upon the man first and than his gaze traveled to the slave that seemed to have an interest in the mans foot. He did not yet speak – he knew his mere presence could already have this air of danger about him. Not that he was that dangerous. In truth he was hardly dangerous when he was unmarked, but he would not explain such. When the man lifted himself and greeted his hand would flick from underneath his cloak “by all means – remain seated, Sir.” he replied to him first – as if not to burden him too much. “Greetings.” he added “I was merely searching for the Captain.” he stated as casual as he could.
[13:10] Poundscake scrambles to a respectable distance from the master when he motions for her to stand. She understood why when she caught sight of visitors looking for the Captain. The slave looks back to the master, wondering if he is him!
‘Tal, Master. Greetings, sister,’ the words are soft and slow, no intended to interrupt the business of the Frees. Tucking herself back into the shadows of Elon, the slave is content to watch, ready to carry out master’s bidding.
[13:11] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would give the man a quizzical look as he rose to his feet, only speaking in her soft, Pani-Karian voice one he does. Her own greet added. “Tal Master, girl,” she would say in a gentle manner. Her head tilts to the side in her feline mannerism, a look of curiosity crossing her doll-like features for just an ihn as she looks the man over. Querying in her mind, clearly, if she had seen him before. She shifts slightly, smoothing down the silk camisk she had worn for the day and her gaze moving then to the girl, offering her a smile and a dip of her head. Respectful, kind and polite; that was Haru, always. Usually.
[13:12] Elom Vaeren looking to the man the black didn’t scare him, his time in Torvaldsland had kind of cured that whole thing. But he did at least know the man was highly trained if such was true in the man wearing black “The Captain isn’t here..and I cannot say when he will be back, I am unsure where he even is at the moment to be honest” he lifted his brow with a smile and waved his hand about the slave “It’s no bother..she will handle it later” he spoke easily while lookint to Haru and then Crow once more-
[13:16] Crow (melchior.wardell) remained as stoic as one might guess when it came to the men of his craft. But his mind was not set to murder. “Hmm…” he replied. “Why does it not suprise me.” he seemed to question himself. “He always has been fickle.” he shared. Surely they did know little of the history of Berick with Crow, but he would not share much more of it. “Please let him know that I did try to visit him … ” He would pluck a feather from his scarf. He would hand it to Haru so she could hand it to the man – so the man would not feel threatened by his approach “If you offer this – I am sure he knows … who it was that searched for him.”
[13:18] Poundscake smiles at the girl’s sweet manners and touches her chin to her chest in reciprocal smiles. It is indeed fortunate that slaves are kind to each other! For they surely need that! The slave girl looks exotic and Pound ……Cake can only admire the soft silks draping the girl so becomingly.
A little gulp of nervousness sounds when master indicates she will take care of something. But what? She is not sure and little doubts of her adequacy swirl in her head. The master in black seems intimidating, making Pound huddle behind Elon. The man did not mince words and spoke just enough to get the task done. Brrrrrrrrr!! Pound shivers watching him retrieve a feather for the girl. How fascinating! A secret code in feathers? She watches in awe…………
[13:20] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would take the feather from her master, dipping her head. She didn’t need to be told more and would peel away from his side with the swaying of her hips. Always trying to draw her master’s eye, no matter the moment. Approaching, she would offer a dip. Still not sure if she’d seen the man before but in any case, holding out the feather for the man to take. No words spoken. She didn’t need to.
[13:21] Elom Vaeren watched as the man plucked a feather and the slave approached with it in hand, the face of slight familiarity but he couldn’t recall right off the bat. He would hold out his hand and wait for the feather weight to be placed “I will make sure he gets it, or at least it goes along the chain if I don’t see him personally. ” he would wait for the slave to approach then, a single step forward given to make the distance shorter, and in a way showing he wasn’t on the scared list, he was relatively unknown, and most of the men he knew would handle the business of offing him themselves if it came down to it-
[13:26] Crow (melchior.wardell) simply observed. And as the man said he would have Berick know he had been here he would simply dip his head. “Excellent.” he replied. A small snap of his fingers to have his slave return. Crow was in no shape or form intending to instill fear. In fact he tried to not ruffle feathers in a wrong way. His gaze would drift to the slave again and back to the man “I hope you will enjoy your foot massage.” he suggested. His voice held a little jest or humor – but why – that would be anyones guess.
[13:29] Poundscake keeps her eyes on the man in black, for he commands it. Everything is black. The hair, the beard, the clothing, the accessories,,,,,,the feathers, the ring, the boot! It was hard to find anything not black on the man!
Bringing her gaze back to the graceful slave, Pound is in awe. Every move about her spoke of the beast slave training. Every movement of hers is a bid for admiration. She watches Elon take the feather and take care of business, a new appreciation for Elon begins to unfurl deep in her slave belly. Quiet, holding his ground. Such is a man Pound beholds and she has to tear her gaze away from Elon lest she start to worship the very ground the man walks on.
The man’s snap intended for his slave also jerks Pound out of her musings. Slightly embarrassed by the man’s insinuation about the foot massage, she reddens. Though she did not know what exactly the man meant, she just…….. flushes. Frees speak in a manner amongst themselves that she does not understand at all!
[13:31] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would place the feather in his hand, dipping her head in respect and then moving back to her master’s side without delay. She would look to him at the little jest he made, curious on it and wondered perhaps what was happening next. Where were they going and what ideas was he getting in his head? It did sound like they were leaving anyway, so she would look back to the pair and flash her warmest of smiles. “I wish you well Master, kajira. Serve with fire.” The latter half clearly for Cake. She had noted the girl’s gaze and would look to her with kind eyes, her feline posture calm yet sensual, demure and yet confident.
[13:38] Elom Vaeren gave a simple nod “I will make sure he gets the message, Your slave is a treat I am sure..” he smiled then, turning slightly to Poundcake “She is a new acquisition…so I need to show her the ropes..break her in..make sure she understands her role” he would tuck the feather into a fold in his clothing and lift his chin slightly “Was there anything else” He showed hospitality to everyone, he knew when to be sarcastic and when to be polite…taking another step forward he would motion to the couch “If you wish a comfortable spot to wait..” he motioned with a movement of his head-
[13:41] Crow (melchior.wardell) was dressed in black. The very thing he earned and yet there was still something of colour. The green of his eyes. These had seen every murder he had committed, but also every flower or dancing slave. Eyes that could still value and treasure the beauty in this violent and unfair world. Crow was in a darker state due to recent events. Nothing they could do to change that. Little did they know of the inner struggle he had to overcome the behavior of one of his caste brothers. The fear to become exiled again was a storm in himself brewing and yet his pose nor his features seemed to betray his turmoil. When the man moved Crow followed him with his gaze, but he did not move just yet. “She is indeed special. But never truly broken by me.” he shared. “Trained of course, but never broken. I like them with character.” he gave some insights in how he was as a master. “I wish you both well and again thank you for relaying the message.” he would dip his head again and turned unless stopped to leave.
[13:44] PoundCake’s nods imperceptibly at the girl, accepting her good wishes, lapping it up almost as she makes her way back to her master. The pair must have been together for a while for them to be so in tune with each other. Perfect understanding that needs minimal words. Something she can only aspire to. ‘Same to you as well, sister. Safe paths, master, if you are leaving’ Pound calls out once the girl has reached the side of her master.
PoundCake’s face heats up when Elon explains her presence. The more details he gives, the more she cringes. Why does he need to make it sound so……. so.. blunt! With a look of dismay, she casts her gaze to the wooden slats, watching the duo prepare to leave. The man in black shone some new light on his dealings with his slave girl and Cake can only appreciate his style.
[13:46] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would offer a bow as her master made to depart. Low and formal as always with both arms folded behind her. Broken. She’d been broken a few times. But her master now – he’d worked his magic in different ways and she was his, through and through. The girl would probably enjoy the challenge of him trying to break her, though. A small sly curl of her lips at the corners at the thoughts that went through her mind. She’d already bid farewell though so any further words were kept to herself, simply turning to follow her owner with that temptress’ motion of the hips, light, sheer silk doing little to hide her master’s property.
[13:47] Elom Vaeren watched as the man turned to head out, the slave moved with him and he would nod his head once “Farewell, and I hope you finally get a moment to speak with the Captain. Is there a time or place?” he wondered, but none the less he would simply deliver the feather the next time the man was seen. He stood still in the doorway now as he awaited their departure-
[13:49] Crow (melchior.wardell) would move off – not sharing or answering. The question would remain unanswered. Not because he did not want to answer – but simply one he could not answer. He would move – with a sureness that his girl would follow.
[16:52] (Ember, the Candidate): had been reading scrolls for hours again when he saw a black figure that looked similar in stature to his best friend and rubbed his eyes. Was he dreaming or was it real? “Tal Killer” he greeted as a precaution
[16:53] (Ember, the Candidate): had been reading scrolls for hours again when he saw a black figure that looked similar in stature to his best friend and rubbed his eyes. Was he dreaming or was it real? “Tal Killer” he greeted as a precaution
17:01: Black larl turned to see the lad that approached and greeted with a silent nod, not confirming his identity nor denying it, perhaps he was once a candidate, long ago, perhaps not here, but the lad saw him as if he recognized him, so he decided to stand and then spoke “Candidate…Tal”
[17:05] (Ember, the Candidate): Amir used one of his disguise exercises again and wanted to test him? he looked at the killer and since there were no slaves running around, which was usually the case, especially during training sessions, he offered to give the killer something to eat and drink. “Killer are you thirsty or hungry? I’ll be happy to bring you something.”
17:06: Black larl looked to the candidate and said “Follow” without answering questions, his voice was very raspy and aged, his hair greyed, his skin had spots, if it was a disguise it was beyond skilled.
17:11: Black larl silent steps of the large man prowled behind the woman, he quietly whispered a question “Lost, woman?” his voice, deep, raspy and guttural, as if he growled it out, age perhaps.
[17:12] (Ember, the Candidate): he seemed to be mistaken and followed the killer, quietly to find out who he was and what he wanted here
[17:13] (Yoko Togashi): /me was not so quiet as he believed. That was perhaps proven when her gaze turned to him before he spoke. “No.” Was all she said as she took look at him, turning to fully face him. “Are you, Lord gaijin?”
17:17: Black larl did not understand anything she said at all, for her words were not of this world, he then asked “Lord, Gaijin? Make sense woman, if you are not lost, speak, where do you think you are.” he was not trying to be silent, for if he had been, or considered her a threat, he would not have spoken. His old cold eyes gazed upon the woman that sort of reminded him of a panis of the west, but spoke like a barbarian. “From earth?” he tilted his head, perhaps curious.
[17:21] (Yoko Togashi): /me shook her head. “I am at the Black Lodge, a guest of the Lodge who has been given permission to be here.” She didn’t answer his question of whether or not she was from the barbarian planet. As far as she was concerned, that was all he needed to know at this juncture. “The fact that you seem painfully ignorant to this known fact tells me that I am not the one who is lost. Who are you exactly?”
[17:24] (Ember, the Candidate): stood silently and attentively listening to the words behind one of the stalls, he could just as well have been a trader waiting for customers
17:28: Black larl tapped his feet on the ground, the Larl was a patient man, but not a tolerant one, he would normally see “Guests” of any court joined by a Killer, he had seen her elsewhere already, same attire, same attitude and he approached her, same as any man of gor would approach a mouthy, unaccompanied free woman. And then asked “Whose Guest?” he waited to hear a familiar name. Not that he really cared, the woman had ignored a direct question, and there was two things he enjoyed. Mouthy women without a collar, antagonizing anyone in a place they were simply a ‘guest’ wasn’t one of them.
[17:34] (Ember, the Candidate): followed the scene attentively without making himself noticed
[17:34] (Yoko Togashi): /me took a single step back when he approached, and then another as he tried to close the distance between them. Seemed that she was familiar with this dance, giving ground once one decided to invade her own. The pattern was simple, and it was that she would not allow him within arms reach. “I do not believe it is necessary to tell you, without knowing who you are.” She was well awarer of Killers, and those who claimed to be killers. She did not recognize him as one of the killers present at the lodge, but she also knew she had no authority to force him to identify himself either. “I respectfully request that you keep your distance until a time that your identity can be verified by one of the Killers of this Lodge. All you must know is that I was invited here by one of this lodge. You are welcome to seek out the Master of this lodge if you doubt my words.”
[17:37] (Ember, the Candidate): “Inwardly, he was already placing bets on how long this woman would continue to breathe”
17:38: Black larl no more words were needed. He considered her a liar and an intruder, where black banners hung, words were chosen carefully. Many a intruder claimed to know the killers, or claimed to be invited, a killer of the lodge, bosswell pass, or the other courts brought their guests, and the Larl was not one to believe any killer to take word or coin from a pani woman…
17:38: Black larl sighs “I really hate when I am forced to do this…” he says, taking a fighting stance, and he taps his feet, blades out…
[17:41] (Yoko Togashi): /me watched the killer finally fall and walked over to him and used her geta to kick his blade away fro his hand. She’d used his own ropes to start the bindingn process.
[17:42] (Yoko Togashi): /me moved to place his arms behind his bakc and removed his bracers. She weaved the arms between his wrist in a figure eight and ended the binds in a capture knot.
[17:42] (Yoko Togashi): /me then removed the mans boots from his legs, pulling the legs together and binding them together in a similar manner to his arms, that same figure eight wrap and ended off into a secodn capture knot.
17:43: Black larl took a knee “Hm… Killer T told you to come looking for one, didn’t he?” he broke the weapon wounding his arm, before he was tied, he stayed calm. He would find out who sent her soon enough.
[17:43] (Yoko Togashi): /me for good measure tdecided to add a thrid rope uponhim to serve as a leash.
Isolet Nightingale tries to bind AmirMahalah Resident.
[17:44] (Yoko Togashi): /me shook her rhead, “Actually no he did not….” she told him calmly. “though I coudl ask you the same…”
Isolet Nightingale tries to bind AmirMahalah Resident.
17:44: /me – AmirMahalah Resident has been force bound by Isolet Nightingale (no response). –
17:45: Black larl cracked his neck, he was too old for this. He wondered how she would explain the situation to the other killer. Silence was his language now.
[17:46] (Ember, the Candidate): watched this Pani woman, who said she was a visitor, fight a killer. Her weapons would have to be weaker, like a man’s, unless she was disguised and there was a man under her clothes.
[17:47] (Yoko Togashi): /me sighed when she looked at him and took note that she was not being answered on that matter. She looked over to where Ember was hiding and told him. “You can come out now, candidate.” She was definitely not fond of the observer to say the least.
[17:49] Crow (Melchior Wardell): me would regard Yoko and arched a brow as he noted the man in black on a leash. That alone might already be something to address “What is going on?” he asks.
[17:50] (Ember, the Candidate): “Tal Killer” he bent his head briefly in Crow’s direction, “Tal Pani contract woman”
17:53: Black larl cracked his neck. He looked over and said “Tal, Killer” said the Larl. Scoffed “I am getting too old for this.” he rolled on his back and sat up. The dizzyness abandoning him. The thrill of a fight was something he loved, but something was off here. “Contract women attacking the lodge, dodging questions…but I must say, Killer, she could be hired as a mercenary as well” he gave a slight pained chuckle.
[17:55] (Yoko Togashi): /me held fast to the leash of the man on the ground, uncertain of who he was to say the least, or who “Killer T” was. She was only aware of four killers in this lodge, and all but one had approved of her presence.
[17:55] (Yoko Togashi): /me violence over diplomacy, hence your current… situation.”
[18:01] Crow (Melchior Wardell): /me would stare to Ember slightly annoyed “The contract woman as you call her has a name … I am sure it was once given.” he would return his attention back to Yoko. He knew the woman was skilled and it did not surprise him that she was able to overmaster a fellow that might have not matched her skills. He would grin towards Yoko as he hears the man that should clearly take a notch down. “From what I know you are not a known killer and an imposter. There are no city laws and for such .. you a male attacking a woman is already way taking it to far. I am a patient fellow but not with men like you.” he would take his killing knife and kneel beside him. Taking his head and lifting it up.
[18:04] (Ember, the Candidate): “Killer, I’ve seen a lot of things in my life, but a woman attacking a man, a killer, instead of answering his questions or avoiding him is a behavior that not even men in a city exhibit. Even men prefer to cross the street and this woman didn’t give me her name either.” Then he observed the scene in front of him. Would Crow kill a bound, defenseless other killer without taking gold? That was an interesting lesson.
18:09: Black larl looks to the candidate he did not know the name yet, he was wondering how the woman knew he was a candidate, and then he said “Candidate, pull out your scroll and writing of what you heard and give it to the Killer, Come get these bindings off of me, she is meant to identify herself, he lost this ‘Lord’ diplomacy when she failed to answer and antagonized. Then looked to Crow, perhaps remembering him, perhaps not. “Contract women roam freely here… pointed to the woman and asked “Is that your slave in disguise?” he recalled killer C, had a Pani slave. But perhaps he was unto something.” Saying “I am a marauder, hired as a mercenary, sometimes to kill, somtimes not…protecting is more of my line of work, he addressed crow. “A man has seen the Pani woman in Kar, if not mistaken, had she said your name…she didn’t even had to say it fully, A man would not have attacked. But no name was given, I was told to seek Killer D, but when I arrived, only the Candidate was here, she climbed the path to the fortress
18:09: Black larl I asked questions, when she refused to answer, I approached, further words were given, but no answer.” he said, explaining the situation to C. Not naming himself a Killer here, even if he wore black, it was simply a color that hid him in darkness. “Mind cutting me loose, Killer? Talk it over black wine?” he was heavy. and bound. But Killers knew no honor, would Crow risk the consequences, or let the woman face them on her own? The Larl was now really curious.
[18:10] Crow (Melchior Wardell): /me glanced back to Ember in question “Oh you recognize this killer ?” he asks quite amused. “This man is no killer. I can assure you. This man – wearing black in a fortress that is behind the black banners is an impostor and not recognized as a killer. As to if this killer would take down a target that was defenseless – Hell yeah – no honor there – just plain murder. As he held the head he would take his dagger and run it along his throat in one clear cut.
[18:11] Crow (Melchior Wardell): /me would drop the head as he saw the blood run over the tiles. The man no longer to speak and very difficult to breath if he tried.
[18:11] Crow (Melchior Wardell): /me would clean his dagger at the end of the black claok of the impostor and regard the candidate and back to Yoko “I will have the sleen drag it back so let it bleed to death.
[11:11:00] Crow (melchior.wardell) would drop the head as he saw the blood run over the tiles. The man no longer to speak and very difficult to breath if he tried.
[11:11:44] Crow (melchior.wardell) would clean his dagger at the end of the black claok of the impostor and regard the candidate and back to Yoko “I will have the sleen drag it back so let it bleed to death.
[11:11:50] zCS # [Mod] AmirMahalah Resident declined to be killed by Melchior Wardell.
[11:12:59] Black-Larl allowed the bag of bosk blood around his neck to bleed, and pretended to die, he even made mock gasps to feed a rather convincing act. and remained there, it seemed, Crow chose the war path.
[11:15:35] Ember, the Candidate: nodded and gave the killer the scroll about the situation. “I don’t know him, at first I thought I knew him too, but this man is much older, look at his skin”
[11:16:06] Yoko Togashi sighed as she listened to Ember once again speak what she perceived as nonsense. “Once again, candidate Ember, you misrepresent reality to suit your own flawed perception of it. I did not attack this man, I simply defended myself from him. You on the other hand, have yet to understand the meaning of ‘information control.’ Being of the male gender does not make you the authority over every woman in existence. I do not know him, and I gave him the means to validate my words to him. He chose violence… and you are choosing, quite blatantly.. to lie to defend this man who is not verified as a Killer aside his chosen color of clothing.”
She fell silent once more once the two actually started speaking once more. As often as she did, men started speaking, and she remained silent, while calmly observing, listening and taking in information. She did not actually move when the action was made to slide the blade across the bound man’s throat. She wasn’t certain what was expected. Was she supposed to just stand the [11:16:06] Yoko Togashi and allow herself to be attacked, possibly killed by a man who did not enjoy her answers? Perhaps the candidate.. and the fellow on the floor were used to Slave girls being recipients of needless cruelty and thanking them for it. She was not a slave-girl.
[11:18:42] Crow (melchior.wardell) was not impressed with Ember as he spoke “Seems you have a lot to learn about women, candidate. Surely those that I tollerate around myself.” he snapped.
[11:20:19] Ember, the Candidate: nodded “Yes killer” he kept his thoughts to himself
[11:25:20] Crow (melchior.wardell) looked back and pondered if he should take the mans head and put it on a spike to have an example for all to see. “Well lady Yoko. I am sorry I was too late and you needed to do this. You are a guest and clearly this one … was to easily fooled.” pointing to Ember “Did he even try to over throw a marketstall to have this man stopped or was he doing nothing to see to your safety ?” he asks.
[11:32:16] Yoko Togashi looked over to Ember and shook her head. Given his earlier words she felt that answer was quite obvious. “He did not, my Lord.” She chose her words carefully in this matter. “He actually followed the man and hid behind the stalls as this was happening. He did not emerge until I called him to stop hiding after the skirmish had ended.” She would not speak on any other matter at this point. Though she did agree that the man on the ground did not identify himself as a Killer. She had already spoken as such.
[11:35:28] Ember, the Candidate: “Killer, I don’t have a weapon and I didn’t get involved in the fight. I wouldn’t destroy Black Logde goods and I would never interfere in a fight involving a killer. How was I supposed to know if he was a real or fake killer? As a candidate, I can’t ask a guest who appears here in black clothing for proof,” he replied respectfully. and then greeted the people who had joined the group. “Tal killer, tal slaves”
[11:36:17] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) made her way up to the market to get some … things … for the kitchen. The merchant there was lucky, to say the least, that they had pretty much exclusive rights but even with that market presence they did not dare rise the prices. Hah. Spotting a gathering there, she made her way over out of her usual, feline curiosity, spotting her master along with Yoko, Ember and another man on the floor. She blinks a moment, arching a brow and making her way over, falling silent that she was seen but not heard. A smile to Ember given when he greeted her and a dip of her head in response and a non-verbal greet.
[11:37:35] Crow (melchior.wardell) would not entertain or discuss things in length with those he felt impostors or lawless mercenaries. So when he simply sliced his throat he had done so without any much regret or feeling. As if the mere kill was all in a days work. Not that he did not take it serious. Surely he did – it was his livelihood. “I see.” he replied to Yoko. “Haru, see that the lady is taken care of bring her some of the best sake I have in stock.” as he turned to Ember “Do you see this ? Do you see me enjoying this ? Did I ever tell you about the woman and what she is ?” as Ember spoke he would narrow his eyes “Surely we must have been mistaken. Candidates of the caste are keen men. Intelligent, aware and focused. I have not been able to catch you on these matters. So you are walking a very thin line here. Tell me do you wish to test me now ? Truly ?”
