[13:00] Crow (melchior.wardell) would enter and as he needed to adjust to the dim light he noted some familiar faces. “Greetings Killers.” he offered to hose there in respect.

[13:02] Byron Greenwood also notes the timely arrival of his lieutenant, along with the master of the GBC.

[13:02] Obsidian (thom.podlum) arrived as in out of thin air. He looked around the chamber and offered an incline of his head to those who were present. ‘Greetings, Killers. Hoping you all are having a fine day.’ Then he took a seat and remained quiet.

[13:03] Conrad (achlysnightfire): arrives soon after Obsidian, in the same fashion “Killers” he says nodding to the other assassins

[13:04] Al’Sah (azaereus) moved to join the men of his court and camp, offering Conrad a nod of greeting, and to the others as they filtered in

[13:04] Drago (drago.blackheart) he will stay in the back and just listen on ” Greetings Killers and slaves”

[13:04] Nijad (altav2015): enters just after Conrad and also nods a greeting to those present.

[13:05] Crow (melchior.wardell) had been from the lodge due to grim business up in the North. As he moved he arched a brow. The captain was still missing. Not one that was often late. “I am doing well, Killer. I trust you and yours do so too ?”

There was a reason he seemed to have little interest in Scar for the moment.

[13:05] Erin (tracynotme) follows her Master “Tal Masters and kajirae “

[13:05] Sana ‘Toi’ Armani (babeangel) followed erin in behind thier woner and she was nervous as she glanced around but stayed silent*

[13:06] Λdɨяα (sutara.luminos): would take her place at her masters boot quietly before sending a quick easy smile “greetings masters and beauties” she would murmur softly before going quiet

[13:08] Byron Greenwood makes note of the other arrivals and patiently waits as they settle themselves.

[13:08] Conrad (achlysnightfire): seeing Crow he nods “What about the lads? were do you want them?” he asks seeing that Drago is there

[13:10] Crow (melchior.wardell) had not taken his place. Waiting for the captain to arrive and the other lieutenant. As Conrad spoke he cuts a glance to Scar and answers Conrad “On their hands, knees, whatever you like. They are your canidates.” he replied with a hint of his black humor “Our candidate will not join. If he is still alive that is.”

[13:11] Conrad (achlysnightfire): looks at Drago “stand behind us, lad” he orders

[13:11] Red Bloodrose is hunched over papers at the behest of Scar, scribbling notes furiously. She lifts her head then, offering a nod of respect to the assembled Masters, ducking her head the to the height of the girls then, to offer a quiet wave of her hand to them all in welcome, before once more bending studiously to her notes.

[13:12] Byron Greenwood thinly smirks at Crow’s humour in deciding upon the treatment of guest candidates.

[13:13] Al’Sah (azaereus) rubbed at his temples before taking a quick nip from the bota at his hip of the clear water within. ” It’s been too long since we’ve had a proper conclave so I hope this ends much better than the last… Thankfully I see mostly reasonable and rational faces among us today.”

[13:13] Drago (drago.blackheart): : he move behind Conrad and stand with his hands behind his back, he looks around the room wondering who was who.

[13:15] Byron Greenwood motions to Crow to claim a seat. “Already it is a quarter past the hour. You will have to attend for our captain and his second, until such time as they present themselves.”

[13:17] Conrad (achlysnightfire): ((I am sorry but at 2PM I have to log out as tomorrow I wake up early for work))

[13:17] Crow (melchior.wardell) took a coin from his pocket and flipped it up in the air. One might think he made wagers with himself. Coin up – I speak – Coin down – I keep silent. But there was no such thing when it came to this. It was simply to keeping his fingers flexible. Not because his slave complaint – hardly – ever – she did not dare.

“It is, Killer. And I am sure many might join a little later. Not all were able to make it in time. Erebus will be here shortly. “

When Scar motions him to take a seat he did – but with some reluctance.

[13:18] Al’Sah (azaereus) chuckled at Crow’s observation. ” It doesn’t help that we hold our courts high in the mountains and not all of us are tarnsmen… It’s not the shortest nor easiest trek even on the back of a tharlarion.”

[13:19] Crow (melchior.wardell) grinned “I always have been excellent with animals. So I guess I should take in account that such does not come natural to all.” he jested.

[13:21] Obsidian (thom.podlum) shifted in his seat, still finding his comfortable position. Then he cleared his throat before commenting. ‘I need to share that I do have a commitment and am only able to be present for a bit over an ehn. Should I need to depart, I will designate Al’Sah as the most senior member of the GBC present to speak on my behalf.’ He turned to Al and nodded his head.

[13:22] Byron Greenwood makes note of Crow’s comments and waits until he is settled, then once again takes up a metal scroll rod, which he employs as a makeshift gavel, striking it three times upon the table, loudly and sharply. “I call this first conclave of the Black Lodge to order!” he declares. “The Black Lodge welcomes the masters of the GBC and the Sable Caste, along with their men and property, and all others here present. As the first order of business, I call upon Conrad, master of the Sable Caste, to speak of the fate Aretium. Has it been abandoned?”

[13:24] Conrad (achlysnightfire): He nods “Yes, we decided to move to Turmus. Since Coda has been away for long, the city wishes to have a master assassin there and our Raven was already there, so we decided to move there”

[13:26] Byron Greenwood makes a note of this news from Conrad. “Very well. I shall adjust our war table accordingly. My thanks, Killer. Second order of business. I should like to propose that all future Black Lodge conclaves are held on the second Sunday of the month, rather than the first. Any objections?”

[13:27] Al’Sah (azaereus) leaned back in his seat. ” Coda’s slave has also found her way into the employ of Master Assassin Tiber, myself, and works within the Court of Boswell Pass. We will hold the beast until his return, or should he be considered dead, she will remain in the chain of our camp.”

[13:27] Conrad (achlysnightfire): “on Sundays at 1PM is a bit late for me, Saturdays would be better”

[13:28] Crow (melchior.wardell) would simply flip the coin as he listens. In a way he was not only flexible with his fingers, he was flexible with his time too.

[13:29] Al’Sah (azaereus) ” I am afraid Sundays are my only available day, unless the conclaves are held later in the day on a Saturday.”

[13:30] Obsidian (thom.podlum): ‘No objections here.’ Obs was a man of few words …. for the moment.

[13:30] Byron Greenwood notes Al’sah’s comment. “How is this slave named, for the record?” He then acknowledged Conrad again. “Sunday was the most voted for day overall. Would starting at noon fair better for you, Killer?”

[13:30] Conrad (achlysnightfire): “yes, noon would be much better, killer”

[13:32] Al’Sah (azaereus) ” The slave’s name is Onyx, but we will settle that less important matter should there be time at the end.”

[13:35] Byron Greenwood nods at Al’Sah’s remark, and makes a note. “Second Sunday of the month, at noon. Motion is carried. We await word from Sirius on the fate of Rarn, unless any here can confirm its status. Meantime, I open the floor for other business.”

[13:36] Byron Greenwood rolls his eyes, since it seems he only has to mention Sirius’ name for him to actually appear! “Sirius, can you speak of the fate of Rarn before we continue?”

[13:38] Crow (melchior.wardell) cuts a glance to Sirius that still took the place of the spider. Surely with the intent to overcome his fear for those creatures. He nearly had spilled the beans when it came to Rarn but would await the words of the one that was appointed to that city.

[13:39] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) had just shuffled in , wiping sleep from his eyes. Sitting he covered a yawn with his hand, and bleary eyes looked at those gathered. He was startled when Scar called him, not expecting that. He sat up, alert now and cleared his throat. “Yes. Rarn. The city could not support itself , the interior having collapsed. What little remained of its populace has moved to Tafa.”

[13:40] Byron Greenwood nods to this grave news and makes a note. “So, it has, indeed, fallen. I shall update our war table accordingly. My thanks, Killer. So! Any other business?”

[13:42] Al’Sah (azaereus) held up his hand. ” I have two pieces of business. One is an unafiiliated Killer with his hands dipping into court business, and the other is a proposal to the courts. Which would this conclave hear first?”

[13:44] Byron Greenwood motions to the open area that the table encircles, more to suggest that Al’Sah has the floor rather than demand that he should actually stand. “This conclave will hear which ever you should like to first address, Killer.”

[13:44] Crow (melchior.wardell) had enough to share, still he was uncertain of his own position. And in such he held silent. Perhaps things that would presented today – might give direction to what he still needed to figure out. There was a certain pain from his experience and one he knew most would frown upon. So he would not speak of such. Simply waited for what was presented before them.

[13:44] Obsidian (thom.podlum) was familiar with the points of business. He raised his hand to speak, then quietly commented. ‘The proposal is of greater long term importance, and the unaffiliated killer is perhaps a more immediate matter.’

[13:47] Al’Sah (azaereus) stood and placed his ring covered hands on the table, one of which was his mark of rank and title among his court of Boswell… ” Assassins, Killers. In this very room sit men of the black caste of three separate courts. Each with its own means of thought and training, and parts of our dark work that we are weak in due to splintering thinking, years of degradation, and slowly branching apart manners of caste etiquette. Thus, I wish to propose to the conclave, a Unified Court, with a council of five elected Assassins to bring unison and unity back to our splintered caste.”

[13:53] Obsidian (thom.podlum) had reviewed the preliminary information on the proposal and offered a few comments. ‘I will say that I am in complete favor of gatherings such as this where we can come together and discuss issues we are facing as well as support each other in the training we offer. And for the purpose of perhaps more critical matters, then a court or council that is comprised of a handful of elected and active assassins seems to be a fine idea whose time has come. I would be supportive of such a proposal.’ He sat back, waiting for others to add their voices.

[13:54] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) leaned forward and took in Al’Sah carefully. He had changed over the years, and it had been some time since last he saw the man. He weighed his words carefully. His interest piqued. “To me, that sounds like a good idea. I agree each of our camps have different agendas and criteria, with some being the same, as its evolved over the years. I agree to a unified council. “

[13:54] Byron Greenwood looked to Al’Sah as he spoke, but also heard Obsidian’s comments. Still, while may have been Obsidian’s intent to give direction to his captain, it seemed his captain took his own path. So, he considered the proposal as presented. “The Black Lodge now holds an open conclave every month, welcome to all, where all have an equal voice, with only me acting as chairman. Too, I recall the many attempts at forming a high council within the caste, which all failed. I would ask, then, how would this United Court differ? And would not this conclave serve the same purpose? If not, why not?”

[13:56] Conrad (achlysnightfire): Has said nothing, experience has taught him to listen first. Only when Byron speaks he nods and turns to look towards Al’Sha as Byron’s question is exactly the same he would have asked

[13:57] Nijad (altav2015) just nods silently when Byron speaks.

[13:59] Al’Sah (azaereus) looked towards Scar. ” The Lodge trains deeply in the art of the hunt and the physical work of our caste. Conrad’s court steeps its lads in the history and philosophy of our caste. The Court of Boswell focuses on the political aspects and finer details to carry out our work. We are splintered, but with a Unified Court to vote and consolidate our strengths into a more cohesive regiment for training, we sit here with the numbers to topple cities should we wish to. Instead, I believe that with such a unification, and a more stable cooperation of our courts, our trainees could go from proficient assassins, to Killers of legend. With the knowledge of the hunt from the men of the Lodge, the philosophy and history of those that came before from Conrad’s Court, and the detailed training on politic and rhetoric from Boswell Pass, we could train Killers that make the people below the Sardars fear to wear the black without having earned it again.”

[14:01] Crow (melchior.wardell) remained silent. When he was – he was on his most dangerous side. None truly could tell what he was thinking and none was safe. The coin flipped again as he listens to what he had been hearing for as long as he was in the caste.

Even he had tried to bring the caste together and failed due to ego’s. None truly could let go of what they believed was right. Even in the mere suggestion to unify there was judgment upon those that were no part of it.

“In theory … As ever with the best intent … when everything goes perfect.” he mused – already giving some indication of his line of thinking.
[14:03] Al’Sah (azaereus): (c)

[14:05] Al’Sah (azaereus) ” The difference between a United Court and these conclaves, will be the Council of Five. These councilmen would be voted for among all three courts, from the captains and masters of our caste. I do not suggest consolidating our camps into one, but to integrate one another into the training regimes of our caste. For example, lads of the Lodge might come to me to learn the art of tarnsmanship, or to Conrad to learn of the codes in depth. My trainee, Akeshi, might come to the Lodge to learn from Crow the best methods to hunt a target where Killers are unwelcome.”

[14:06] Al’Sah (azaereus) ” The Council’s role in this, would be to work together to create a unified and universal training regime, as well as to come together on matters such as my second point of order once we are complete with this one.”

[14:07] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) felt left out of who could go where and learn from someone. He was best at teaching them to be a cunt. Just like him. This brought back memories of bygone years, when Al’Sah himself was a trainee. How many scars did this man have now. at the hands of Sirius?

[14:08] Byron Greenwood broods on Al’Sah’s answer. “As you say, Killer. I have already sought out both Conrad and Obsidian to agree upon some kind of parity between our training programs, so that the richness of these courts can benefit all. Candidates could freely move between these courts and benefit from their specialities. Candidates that would most benefit from one court or another could be dispatched to that court and be based there. Each court is then promoted, and brought together. And again, there is this conclave, where matters regarding the caste as a whole can be openly discussed. I ask again, how would this United Court differ from what is already in place? At these conclaves, all have an equal voice, with no need of voting. With respect, Killer, why would we need such elected officials?”

[14:11] Al’Sah (azaereus) countered. ” Because in these conclaves, where all are equal in voice, there are oft too many voices to be heard in earnest. I believe this conclave is the start to this unified court, and thus we change its manner to having five voices, rather than the entire crowd. Should your camp vote for you as one of the Five, and I should see no reason that they would not, then it would be your voice that speaks for them, rather than the need for us to filter through every Killer’s wish to speak all at once. In a manner of speaking, it is a means to make these conclaves more concise, and more palatable for all to handle. Much as you and I speak now, we both speak with the heart and backing of those whom we call our Camp Comrades.”

[14:12] Conrad (achlysnightfire): he slowly pushes his chair back and coughs to call for their attention “forgive me, killer, the discussion is very interesting but unfortunately I cannot stay longer. At the moment, I agree with Scar and Crow, I see no need for another structure, our courts are already connected and there is no problem is sending trainees to another court. I have tried to give some lessons open to other court lads, for exmaple”
[14:13] Conrad (achlysnightfire): *in sending

[14:13] Obsidian (thom.podlum) looked around the gathering. As usual, the attempt to read the faces of a group of Killers would be fruitless. Instead, he chose to be upfront. ‘My view is this. The unification that Al is speaking of is in alignment with the actions Scar has begun. I believe that Al’s recommendations would take the goal to the next level and would permit several to jointly reach decisions on who might be best able to support different aspects of training. Conrad and I, for instance, have already been jointly training the lad that stands behind him. And we hope to do more of that in the future. If there were such a gathering of five or so representing us all who could work through this, then I believe we would all benefit.’

[14:13] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) looked to Conrad as he readied to depart, ” Gold and steel,Killer”

[14:15] Obsidian (thom.podlum): ‘Gold and steel, Conrad.’

[14:15] Erebus (sagunn): listening he had remained silent. The words shared. Listening as voices around the room provided point of view. Intent. Agreeing or providing different points, thoughts, “Gold and Steel.” offering this with his eyes upon the departing Assassins. Nijad having stood with.

[14:16] Nijad (altav2015) stands as well. He nods a greeting to everyone “Gold and Steel” and follows Conrad.

[14:16] Erin (tracynotme): “I wish all well”

[14:17] Obsidian (thom.podlum): ‘Gold and steel, Nijad.’

[14:17] Alexander Krutschek stood, raised his hand palm inward and inclined his head in a departing gesture. “Do as you all will,” he said in parting. “As I will continue to do as I will. No chosen five or three or two will speak for me. Are we not alone in gold in steel? I say I am, and I go now to be with those.”

[14:18] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) dipped his chin toward Alex, but the man was too quick and had departed before he could utter a word.

[14:19] Byron Greenwood nods to Conrad as he rises, noting his view on the topic at hand. “I wish you well, Killer.” He then considered the further comments. “So, these elected five would speak for all? Can that truly be assured? What of those that might want to speak but would not speak to one of the five? Would their view be ignored, or would the five be compelled to draw them forth? If so summoned, is that fellow not adding an extra voice to the five? Again, we tried many forms of councils in the past. They failed. Largely due to such reasons I suggest here. Can you explain the form and function of your proposed five a little more?”

[14:23] Crow (melchior.wardell) heard the same questions and would most likely hear the same answers. “I understand your intent, Killer.” he stated to Al’Sah “And I can imagine that me not supporting it might look to you as if I feel you are in the wrong. In an ideal world this would be awesome. Recommended, supported, I would even wear its banner. But unfortunately there are so many influences you can not control. It would tire those that are chosen. Even to chose a moment in which we can meet is already a pain in the ass.”

[14:24] Al’Sah (azaereus) frowned as the words of many whom had spoken of egos was slowly becoming apparent, and he would speak freely of such. ” If one would speak before the Five, then they may stand before the council to offer their considerations or grievances. The point of the Council of Five would be to have the caste with a unified understanding of how we operate not just in training but in action among the populace of Gor and its cities. Where Sirius might hold one view, I might hold another, and these two views may be so differing in manner that it causes rifts to form, pride to swell, and schisms in our caste to splinter us further. It is why, to put it bluntly, our caste is starving for contracts, and it is the bottom of the barrel for trainees filtering into our training. With a council made up of seasoned Assassins from the three main courts to deliberate the considerations of our caste members,” He then looked to Crow. ” With Five chosen voices from among us to speak on our behalf, then it is only five Assassins whom need to meet. Not ten, twenty, thirty….”

[14:25] Obsidian (thom.podlum) leaned forward and spoke in a quiet voice. ‘Allow a question, if you will. For those not of the GBC, how many of you know what I consider my strongest training topic? I have a feeling few do and yet I would be happy to offer this topic to any trainees who were sent by their mentors.’

[14:32] Crow (melchior.wardell) nodded “I know, Killer.” he replied “But it will never be my voice. Since I will not take my place in that council or at that table. I always did the leg work. Not the throne. Those that might feel the ambition to do so, one might wonder why one would do so. Is it because they feel themselves superior ? Do they feel they need to push the caste to a higher standard as it now is ? Every answer to these questions is one that might harm it more than your intent has for it.” he answers. As to the question of Obs he held silent – he had the fortune to learn from him and speak on many matters. There was a tremendous respect there.

[14:35] Byron Greenwood considers further. “But who would listen to these five? Would these five make policy for others to follow? The Black Lodge welcomes all within the caste. It does not set policy for the caste. Any that come to this conclave has an equal say, and is listened to. If something is decided here, it is decided between those that are present. No one is dispatched to bring orders from the Black Lodge to do this thing or that. When I send messengers out, it is to bring news of what the Black Lodge has done in the hope that others will listen to it. We do not demand anything of any court. If a court, or any member of it, has something to share, they can freely come to a conclave. You see where I’m going with this? I have a counter proposal for you. What if these conclaves moved from one court to another, rotating between them. One month here, one month there, and so on. The master of that month’s court becomes the conclave chairman for that conclave. How’s that sound?”

[14:36] Al’Sah (azaereus) stood from the table and entered the center ring, pulling out shieves of parchment, which he passed among the Killers. ” Allow me to first give you this in writing, but second to offer you the second matter I had to bring to this conclave…. And use it as an example of why I believe a Council is necessary. Recently a trainee of mine has been absent, and I have found since that the lad has gone to train with another Assassin. One whom we can find no trace of their training among our caste. I ask you, Killers of both Lodge and Boswell Pass… How do we handle this matter? Surely the lad must die for this action, but what of this supposed Assassin? Is he worthy of recognition to call himself an Assassin? Or is he a mercenary masquerading as a Black Caste? Whom among us do we feel fit to decide?”

[14:41] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) thanked Al’Sah as he received the parchment. “Allow me a moment to read this.”

[14:42] Byron Greenwood accepts the scroll offered to him with a respectful nod of thanks. He will be sure to read it in detail later on. “Much to to consider here, I feel. Perhaps, for now, we should all agree that this proposal for a United Court was generally positively received, but there still remains much to be debated upon. Perhaps at the next conclave. For now, let us move on to this new topic, since it relates, perhaps,. to the first. I will ask, who is this candidate that abandoned his training at, I assume, the GBC, to then find another to train him. And who is this unrecognised assassin?”

[14:43] Erebus (sagunn): “As far as your…trainee is concerned. That is your decision. Had he come to me I would have dragged him back before you, conscious or unconscious as I have expressed already.” providing this in response to, unrolling the scroll to read it over after a time. Scar’s own questions on the same subject spoken upon.

[14:45] Obsidian (thom.podlum) took the parchment and offered Al a nod. Then he looked to the rest who were still present. ‘Regretfully, I must depart. But I would like to recommend that Al’s proposal sit with us all for the next period and that we come back to this when we meet again if there is interest. Perhaps it needs refining. Or perhaps there is simply no interest. This is up to the group. However, I must depart now for I have others with needs waiting for me. Al, you may speak for the GBC in my absence.’ Obs rose and held his fist to his chest and then vanished.

[14:46] Al’Sah (azaereus) looked among the Killers that now surrounded him, rather than those at the same table. ” The trainee, named Abyss, was one of mine. The trainee’s life is forfeit once I find him. That is without question… What I bring to you today pertains to the unrecognized assassin, Tyrtaios… A fitting name, as the histories describe one named thus, whom failed this caste twice. We can find no records of him training among any of the courts that still stand today, nor any that have since disbanded. We have, however, found a link with a trainee of Boswell Pass whom had failed, and their initial carved onto our Wall of Lost Souls. We can neither confirm nor deny that this Tyrtaios is the lad formerly known as Vigor, but the connection is there.” He would give Obsidian a silent, but respectful nod. ” Gold and Steel, Killer.”

[14:50] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) looked up from reading. He recalled Vigor. His brows furled. “It is something to address. Should this failed trainee be found, then I agree he should be killed for abandoning training. This other matter of a killer Tyratos, or however you say his name. I am also game to bring him to a stand, in order to recognize him as a killer. “

[14:52] Myrddin (drizantlar.veriander) thumps his fingers against the table pondering his thoughts and then speaks “This is a tricky situation one I am trying to remain outside due to ‘issues’ there are between myself and the lad who went to him to be trained by him. My point is this.. if a killer unknown to us shows up and wants to be a killer, we really can’t say no overall. Everyone has a right to be what and who they want to be. It would be unfortunate to not avail themselves of the potential background as well as acknowledgment and ability to build a story that training provides, but there are those who only want instant gratification. I see no issues of said man decides they want to go and be off by themselves, isn’t making a mockery of themselves and causing issues which would affect all of us then that’s a issue..If the man is openly and vocally questioning or disrespecting other killers or is what I want to call as close to the military version of ‘stolen valor’ then that’s a issue… That’s my stance on a situation where a killer shows up who cannot or has not been vetted. “

[14:57] Byron Greenwood respectfully acknowledge Obsidian as he stood. “I wish you well, Killer.” He then considered Al’Sah’s words once more. “With regard to the candidate, I concur with Erebus here. How you or your court deals with candidates that forsake their mentor or his court is a matter best left to your court and its master. At the Lodge, we kill all those that abandon training, and dispatch word of that execution to every court the Lodge is aware of. -All- of them. Such courts may do with this news as they wish. As for this… so-named assassin, I have heard of him. And can say nothing good about him. In the past, the Lodge would, as Sirius suggests, go forth and hunt this man, to bring him to a stand, where as many members of as many courts would could muster would be present. They would then judge his merit. If he failed his stand, he would be offered proper training. If he refused this offer, he would be slain. If he was judged well, his endorsement would be that stand. That, though, was in the past, in days when the caste was stronger than now. I’m not sure such action would be looked upon with favour now. But I am open to comment on that. Perhaps would might be better to only act if this so named assassin actually insults the caste? And that insult can be proven? With hard evidence?”

[15:03] Al’Sah (azaereus) motioned to Byron. ” The trainee is as good as dead. That is neither here nor there. But I do believe that the man Tyrtaios should be placed before a Stand. The question there stands, whom will sit upon the stand to test his worthiness? Should this man be left to his own devices and then decide to, lets say, randomly commit murders to cure his boredom in the guise of a contracted hunt? That leaves our caste as a whole to take the blame. We’ve all heard it from the city administrations before: ‘ Why is this Killer acting like this? What do you mean he’s not one of yours? We don’t care if he isn’t trained by you, he’s a Killer, and all Killers must surely know one another.’ We may not be as large and as potent as we once were, but to put it simply, our world as a whole is in the same place. Just because our caste is smaller now than it was before, does not mean we should allow those whom have no business wearing the Black, do so. As to evidence for this man’s involvements in less than acceptable dealings,

[15:03] Al’Sah (azaereus): he has been seen with the trainee Abyss multiple times, teaching the boy without the knowledge of his camp. He has also been very vocal in his denouncement of not just the Court of Boswell Pass, but of all courts currently in operation. Claiming that we have lost our way, and that it is to himself and the old way that he will abide….”

[15:08] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) looked down at the mass of scrolls on his desk as he listened. Shaking his head with a sigh. ” These men of late, bouncing around camps, and (going ooc) – and causing issues, and denouncing all of our camps.. It really has come to an empasse where we need to decide, in order to save face, who can be a killer. reminds me of the days when only certain groups , verified , could only hunt and kill in a city. The city administrators, now, would be open to anyone doing a role. But then complain when the person they allowed to do a thing, doesnt do it right.”

[15:13] Erebus (sagunn): rising from his seat “In addition to the answer, the thoughts provided.” motioning to Scar, “This Assassin, at least to my knowledge has all but turned in to dust in the wind. The suggested course, if he becomes a problem seems logical. Practical. If he will attend the suggested stand when offered. Several voices have spoken upon with encounters that speak upon a bad reputation had by Tyrtaios.” hearing Al’Sah out as he provided additional knowledge regarding the actions of the Assassin claiming caste. Sirius’ words offering his own view based on experiences, “This subject can be discussed all night, and while it has merit in that it needs visited with both the trainee and the Assassin must have a known location. You speak of Tyrtaios talking about the different courts, have you knowledge of this then?”

[15:15] Byron Greenwood scoffs at his mention of some ‘old way’. “I’ve heard many speak of this ‘old way’. Let me tell you, I know most of those that were masters in this so called ‘old way’. In fact, the many names of this so-named assassin were presented to to the Lodge by one of those masters of the ‘old way’, along with a warning about him. I speak of Taavon, here. I was around when this ‘old way’ became the ‘new way’. I have lieutenants that came not long after me. Anyway. As I see it, this candidate insulted you, personally, and through that, insulted your court. This assassin insulted you by accepting the candidate. Your court should bring to a stand. If called to such a stand to aid in judgement, the Lodge would answer. Just as many answered the Lodge’s call before, in the past. As for assassins failing in their duty, I would again suggest evidence be collected and used to consider what should best be done. The caste as tried to police its membership before. I never want to see it do so again in the way it did before. I will fight against that. Every time. But a stand seems fairest to me. That is my view on this.”

[15:21] Al’Sah (azaereus) looked to Byron. ” And this the first point of order ties into the second… I bring this to this conclave out of respect and my true belief that the courts should be unified in our ways. I could have, and will, absolutely, Kill the trainee. I could have, and will, Kill the unrecognized one known as Tyrtaios… But. I believe that this is something that effects not just the Court of Boswell, but The Black Lodge, the Sable Lodge, and all whom wear this dark tunic. Would we let our pride and ego say that it is not our business if one of our own is lambasted?” Al’Sah would then pull out another piece of parchment, and begin to read from it aloud. ” Here in is from a missive sent to me by Tyrtaios after his arrogant theft of our trainee…. ‘ My training predates anything written or re-written by Assassins who wished to add their improvements to a system that didn’t require such. The training of old was a standard every killer should have attained and maintained, almost all who attained it failed to maintain it. When I walked on the sacred ground of that arena, or let my black flag fly over my tent. Every time I greeted Torrid on the docks I affirmed my agreement to maintain the standard I was taught and the codes of my caste. This is what I teach, as every camp should be. And if the killer has done what is required and has the Poit complete correctly the mark can toss their toys out the crib, piss in their diaper and cry about it all night long. IT will not change the outcome’. So will the Black Lodge allow an upstart man wearing our colors, to call them children pissing in their diapers? I know that I nor the Court of Boswell will.”
[15:21] Al’Sah (azaereus): (c)
[15:22] Al’Sah (azaereus) ” And thus, I say again… Will the Black Lodge stand with the Court of Boswell, to rectify this problem?”

[15:32] Byron Greenwood scoffs again, and almost laughs when one term was mentioned. “And so come the lies of this so-named assassin. The term PTOIT (Planning, Tracking, Observation and Investigation Training) actually comes from the first -written- training program, as fashioned at Black Caste Isle. Before that, training was done by word of mouth. If he pre-dates all that, as he claims, why then does some that -actually- pre-dates them, namely Taavon, denounce him? You have, though, evidence of him insulting the caste. Present it at the stand you call, when you have brought him to it, and we will use it in judgement upon him. -This- would be my answer to the unity you seek. The Lodge would come to that stand. I’m sure the Sable Caste would too. As might others. This fellow would then see the united caste before him. As would you. You follow?”

[15:34] Al’Sah (azaereus) gave a sly smirk as he understood his fellow Killer’s intended words. ” It is a start… But a welcome one. I will send messengers to the courts when the time comes.” Sah would offer the gathering a bow of his head in respectful thanks for their time, before sitting again and conceding the floor to further matters

[15:36] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) blinked as words were exchanged. Taking a piece of cloth , he dabbed at his ears. and the side of his face, where his brains had leaked out. He was at a loss for words since that part of his brain was now in a puddle on his lap. Once he gained the will to speak again, he offered. “Ill support all what was said. when a stand is presented, I too will participate.”

[15:39] Byron Greenwood takes note that Al’Sah reclaimed his seat. “Very well. Let his stand be the first example of the proposed unity, and we can, if that stand happens before the next conclave, debate on how that went, to prosper talks on your first proposal of a United Court. Indeed, you might well have four renown courts attend that stand, since Sirius here presides over what was and is the BCTC. We shall await word of this stand when called. Now! Is there any further business?”

[15:41] Crow (melchior.wardell) arched a brow “Killer.” he turned to Sirius “In all truth … Scar already made a statement for the lodge. Which makes it already that he …” he paused “ruled without consulting our decisions. ” he stated.

He would look at Al’Sah “I will lay down my rank and keep my tent, and you can count on my when it comes to this stand.”

[15:44] Byron Greenwood looked to Crow at this. “If you would have ruled otherwise, why do you say you will attend the stand I said the Lodge would already attend? A stand your comrade, Sirius, also said he would make himself known at? You have some other view that might change my mind?”

[15:44] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) looked over at Crow, and dipped his head with respect. They had been discussing such for awhile now, in private. He looked over at Scar, and taking a deep breath. “It has been some time now that as much as i try to hold things together with Crow, I for one, as i cant speak for Crow, that I too, will lay down my rank. If you allow me to remain in a tent here, I will once again raise the BCTC as my standard.”

[15:48] Crow (melchior.wardell) would regard Scar “This is far more than this stand or this conclave.” he starts. “You took this court as its master. With the support of those within it. You have not reached out. Did not talk nor kept in contact. We were pretty much left to our own. I am sick of doing the work and not be considered or consulted. You want to rule – rule it – but no longer with me in your ranks.” his voice was serious with no anger to it.

[15:56] Al’Sah (azaereus) sat back and kept his mouth shut. This was Lodge business now

[15:57] Snow (malikai.alecto) entered the room, moving nearly silently on booted feet, making his way toward an open seat. He slid in with only the slightest clanking of his gladius against the back of his chair, reaching to place the folded page that had summoned him here on the table. It was a grave issue to draw the hermit assassin from his solace to be here among his own kind, peopling like the verb it had become.

[15:58] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) he nodded at Snow, now the 3 sons of Serpent sat together. It had been sometime since they were together. He leaned to his right, and whispered to update Snow on all that was discussed.

[16:04] Byron Greenwood prospered a respectful nod to both Crow and Sirius in turn. “The Lodge’s tents are always available to those assassins that have good standing, no matter what court or allegiance they might have. You will always be welcome here. If you would renounce your ranks in the Lodge, I will abide by your wishes, with no ill feeling. Your service to the Lodge has been honourable, and will not be easily forgotten. I will say this, in answer to your statement, Crow. You had the rank to make decisions. Such decisions I would stand by, since, given your rank, you had my trust to act in ways I would support.Indeed, I again note you both stated you would attend a stand I said the Lodge you attend. If you wanted more recognition for your efforts, you only had to mention it. I didn’t garner men that needed my input on everything. I garnered men that could do things on their own. And do them well. Besides, the Lodge’s mission, here, was and is merely to provide a haven for the caste as a whole. -My- mission is the same as it always was, to preserve the methods laid down by the Black Caste Isle. ‘Took the Lodge as its master’ you say. I think you rather re-write history, there. But, no matter. I hold few grudges.”

[16:07] Snow (malikai.alecto) leans forward, squinting toward Scar’s familiar form, nodding as he absorbed the news. Here it was, those pink eyes that made him a living trope rolled so far back into his skull his mother had told him once they’d get stuck like that. He didn’t even bother to mutter, he just spoke the words with his usual candor. “I know my eyesight is not what it once was. But are you actually sitting there, ruling for our entire caste while wearing a fucking crown?” He didn’t care that Scar had just barely gotten his own respectful words out of his mouth, he was unhappy and it showed in his every terse word. “I come to do in service to my caste to find you as an Ubar, crowned? Please tell me I have finally tipped over the edge of madness, and left reason behind. Just want to make sure I’ve got it right so that I can fully appreciate this moment.”

[16:11] Crow (melchior.wardell) would listen with the intent to hear what was shared. As the man spoke he said nothing new. Nothing he had not anticipated. “Oh I expected you to say this.” he replied coldly “Tell me if you gave me so much trust … why not give the rank of the court master to the one that is there ?” he asks – as a mere suggestion. “Someone that truly builds relations with those out there. “Is it not you that took the largest house within this fortress? You wish the benefits and than just tell me I was like trusted with anything that was yours?” he would lift himself to stand. “I do not try to rewrite history nor am I very good with words … But I know what I see.”

When Snow intervened Crow arched a brow in surprise or was it really surprise ?

[16:16] Sirius™ (lucienwildulf) had also felt a tad neutered , though he did feel some autonomy in his rank. ” I will always stand with my brothers. whether by blood or caste. ” It helped some that Crow and Snow were both bio brothers thru Serpent. ” We never see you.. and therein lies the issue, I believe. You come for meetings, but have not been present here (or in discord until recently). We still have to report to you when you have been vacant for so long. I do appreciate your words, that we would still be welcome here and part of the Lodge, even under a different banner. I will always be there to help. and teach the next generation.”

[16:19] Byron Greenwood smiled thinly at Snow. “Ahah, Snow. How -fascinating- that you should suddenly appear when this matter is being discussed. A matter that would have been better addressed within the Lodge rather than at a full conclave. But, since you were so -kind- enough to spit out the same vitriol of old, lacking in originality, I will answer it. I recall Vincent coming to me to say the same thing as you, and he did the same to Solomon as well. -He- left satisfied in both cases. I have -never- spoken for the caste. I have only spoken for myself. The Lodge has never been about presiding over the caste, but offer a haven for it. I rule only over my court. Not the caste as a whole. As for the villa, Crow, I gave you and Arsus one. That you filled. And then never used. Preferring the tents instead. And would I give my court to another to rule? Perhaps. But then, you just decided to step down. So, it’s not going to be -you- now, is it:? As for being absent, you always had the option and means to send a message to me. Still. Perhaps you were too busy to be bothered, eh? I understand.”

[16:24] Al’Sah (azaereus) sat back and stayed quiet. It was still a matter of the Lodge mostly… But that of one court, was in truth, a matter of caste, so he listened intently… Though the silence would be broken with the soft munching of trail nuts smuggled from under Sah’s… admittedly… revealing tunic choice.

[16:24] Crow (melchior.wardell) stood there looking down upon him “When would I had the time to discuss these matters with you ?” he asks. But he would wave his hand “Don’t answer. I know it was unfortunately not the past hands.” he added.

“I am not here to make this some mean girls club.” no pun intended. “But I am one that calls what I see. I have always done that. I even dare say that partly due to that – you were able to build this.” he stated. “But I do not come here for the largest villa, the rank or the pet on the back. I was here because this would be a joint venture and it was not. I wish you greatness with it.” he would take the sash and place it upon the table. “

[16:30] Snow (malikai.alecto) tipped his head to the side, listening as he nodded, as though in agreement. “Is it vitriol if it is truth? You sit crowned in apparent victory. Let us set aside the vitriol. I came to discuss, not challenge the unarmed to combat of wits. I have been busy. Doing my actual job. Killing people. You should try it sometimes. Does wonders for the wallet.”

He gave a firm nod, a polite inclining of his head. “I stand with my brothers. And do not forget … who we come from, where we inherited our literal and figurative steel.” He slowly rose to his feet, leaning to place his palms on the table flat, his voice no longer holding even a hint of humor. “True leadership begins with service, not edicts.”

[16:36] Byron Greenwood leaves the sash where it was placed, without comment upon it. Instead, he looked to Al’Sah. “You still want unity, Killer? Well, here it is.” But he then regarded Crow once more. “Again, I remind you that you said you will attend the same stand as I said the Lodge would attend. But, you are right. Perhaps it was not a joint venture here, this time around. Perhaps you did most of all. But, then, is that still not really a joint venture, when one person did the most? I had it mind that the efforts of all would aid in the whole, and when one person could not lend a hand, another to rise up to help things along. But I suppose it is easier to accuse one of being an Ubar than to be mature about things and consider a brotherhood. A court. A caste.” He then narrowed his gaze on Snow. “Have a care, Snow. You’re starting to sound like my partner of old. I suggest, if you actually -do- have something to discuss, you raise the topic. Otherwise, perhaps we should call this conclave to a close, unless there is any other business to consider?”

[16:40] Al’Sah (azaereus) looked to Byron and said in pure honesty. ” The Unified Council is meant to prevent things such as this. Speaking as Killers to our Councilmen, whom then speak for us. If you wish for the thoughts of the Killers of Boswell Pass, I speak knowing that those whom are here with me, and those whom are not, are of one mind in almost all that we do. Little happens within our Court that is not discussed among its members.” Was his simple reply. ” We men of The Black Caste. The business of one court, is the business of All.”

[16:40] Crow (melchior.wardell) would not fuel it and simply dipped his head once to Scar. He would raise his palm up to others. “I wish you well. Gold and Steel.” he stated. He would turn and leave the court. A room in which he had dared to dream of unity. Dream of joint effort.

Perhaps there was some recognition in the words shared but it was too little too late for Crow.

He would take the coin once more – flip it – and made the choice to walk out.

And who is right !?

[14:21:33] Crow (melchior.wardell) would move forwards as he faced Scar “Killer, I have taken the liberty to take these men before you. It seems that some of these men believe that life is as easy as black or white. Into training I have tried to teach them that life is not always as black and white. And yet they question it every time. So when it comes to the client task. Perhaps they wish to hear it from you instead of a lieutenant.”

[14:22:15] Crow (melchior.wardell) noted Halvar not here. “Haru … get that maggot.”

[14:25:37] Byron Greenwood waits expectantly in the lobby, aware that a party comes seeking an audience. He is still, dispassionate, studious. He listened to Crow, then looked to Heru’s wake, then settled on the candidate when brought forth, now more stern. “Candidate, it seems you have an opinion. How can it be that you have an opinion that would better that of one you seek to learn from? Explain!” he demanded.

[14:26:41] Black Ost (daricmarano) stood straighter. A flick of his eyes to Scar, holding his gaze. He listened to Crow a moment; he took his usual approach. Calm and even keel. A flick of his eyes to Ember, as he stood to one side.

[14:29:20] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) went and fetched Halvar, coming back and falling into place at her master’s side. She flashed Scar one of her warm smiles though for now she did not speak beyond what was needed. Sure, Crow wanted her more verbal but she knew that now was a time for the little ones to be quiet and let the men talk. She might even learn something, who knew.

[14:32:26] Ember followed Haru into one of the houses, which he would never enter without an invitation “Tal Killers” “Killer, would you please be more specific with your question? What opinion are you talking about? If I’ve done something wrong, please forgive me.” He was irritated. “Killer, my question is intended to help me form an opinion, to learn. It seems that there are many different answers to one question. The more killers I ask, the more comprehensive and often different the answers are from which I then try to draw new knowledge,” he replied respectfully without knowing what exactly he was being accused of.”

[14:35:57] Crow (melchior.wardell) would listen to what was asked and replied. When Ember showed his irritation he arched a brow “Be careful there, Ember.” he addressed the show of emotions.

[14:39:35] Byron Greenwood could understand frustration when it came to training. He had experienced much of that in those, now long distant, days. But he knew focus was the answer, and so focus he did now, cold and calculated. “Easy answers are for fools. Build upon them, you fashion a fantasy. Live in that fantasy, and it will betray you. Every time. Allow me to expand upon this folly.” Though his words spoke of suggestion, the way he spoke them made it plain it was a demand. He gestured to his right, to the door there. “Come. All of you.” With that, he paced hence to the meeting room.

[14:40:49] Byron Greenwood motioned to the single chair before the throne. “Candidate, you sit there. The rest, as you please.”

[14:41:56] Black Ost (daricmarano) would dip his chin. “Excuse me, I am running late for an appointment. Thank you for the invitation.” He supplied, before he turned to head through the doors.

[14:42:01] Crow (melchior.wardell) needed little as he entered the room and would take a seat only after Scar had his. The chair in the middle clearly for the candidate. Crow would take of his shield as he would have his foot between Haru’s leg and signaled for her to kneel in bracelets. Just to see if the chains of a few days prior still did their magic.

[14:43:33] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would blink as Ost headed off, leaving again. She flashes him an apologetic smile though she focused on the now and here and as her master signalled, would lower to her knees in bracelet. There was a small wriggle, his foot’s position noticed, pressing herself against him but not enough to be dirty or lewd. Not in this place. But enough to tease him, perhaps. Maybe she was teasing herself?

[14:45:15] Red Bloodrose tilts her head with a purr of welcome. dipping her head to led in his muscular thigh, a soft whimper of pleasure as she does so. She pauses then, the ranked officeRr and their girls… each are given their greetings and love, but her focus is on Scar.

[14:47:14] Ember took a seat in the assigned chair and greeted Red briefly, sensing the strange atmosphere in the room. He hardly felt anything today, there were reasons for that and it was hard to follow the whole thing. He would try to hide it and waited, his eyes fixed on the killer on the throne.

[14:48:08] Byron Greenwood claimed the throne, settled himself, then placed a hand lightly atop Red’s head, then leaned over to her. “Fetch me a few books from the library. The ones pertaining to our legends and fables. You know the ones,” he instructed, a touch more hushed. He then resettled himself and looked keenly at the candidate. “We are islands, candidate. Each killer. We work alone. You’ve heard the expression? Alone with gold and steel? Our perceptions build the world around us, based on our experiences. With me so far?”

[14:52:28] Crow (melchior.wardell) would listen and be attentive and yet he would look to his own girl. Her posture still as pretty as that of a few days back. He would have his hand brush some locks of hair over her shoulder. She was not only a loyal slave, but a good listener. Even though she was instructed not to help the lads with training he could converse with her over what he had observed. He knew she would listen closely just as he did. Scar had his own way with words – Crow had experienced it first hand all those years ago.

[14:58:47] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would arch her back a little more, straightening even further as her master brushed her hair. She only wanted to be pleasing to him and tried to hold herself to the posture he had bound her into before. Of course, she could always do with more binding. Here, there, anywhere really. She never complained about that though she knew it was also not always conducive to her duties. Especially with the events of the past few days.

[14:59:03] Red Bloodrose takes the touch of her Master, offering him a shy, and affectionate smile, slipping to his office and finding the words that he has asked of her. Returning, she resumes her position and nuzzles her Master’s leg.

[14:59:21] Ember “Yes Killer, I know the words ‘Alone with gold and steel’ He thought for a moment, but then remained silent, as no one had asked him about his knowledge of the meaning and watched Red leave the room

[15:07:33] Byron Greenwood waited while his slave abided by his demanded, cold eyes never leaving the candidate. It was if, just by looking at the man, he could somehow read him. And it was not a trick. When his slave returned, he plucked a book from the pile she carried, and dropped it on the floor before him, where it landed with a loud thump. “Assassins.” He fetched another book, and did the same with that. “Plunder.” Then another book. “Quarry”. He followed suit with a few more books he didn’t name. “Legends. Fables. You believe everything you read? You know the author personally?” The questions were rhetorical. He then motioned to Crow. “There’s a killer right there. He has killed. And it ain’t in no fucking book. He’s lived it. As have I. He has -real- experience. Reliable experience. As does -every- other killer you will meet here. Loners all. First question, then. Will Crow’s experience be the same as mine?”

[15:12:25] Crow (melchior.wardell) knew the books well. Often they shared storied of men that failed their codes, or brought shame to the caste. He would listen and hoped Ember would understand why he was faced with the books and the unkind scrutiny of the Master of the court It was about learning and not questioning ones experience. It was learning by example. Understanding that circumstances changed, things were needed, bounderies were at times stretched. Sometimes for good reason and on other times with huge risks. He would look up as his name was mentioned. As his fingers would pluck a piece of hair and toyed with it while he listens.

[15:20:56] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would tilt her head ever so slightly to her master’s touch. Not enough to break her posture but enough to let him know she was present. She felt him. His gentle touch. All of that. She adored everything he blessed her with. She had a vision of him braiding her hair though she had no idea if he even knew how. That was more something she might do with her sisters around the campfire while the men slept; nattering about them and their ways, all of that. ((wb! ♥))

[15:22:59] Ember watched as the killer dropped books on the floor and heard his question. He tried, as Woody had taught him, to read the titles of the books that lay upside down for him. He had taught himself to read in Port Kar.

“No killer, because no job is the same, no kill is the same, the conditions are always different. Every kill brings new experiences and the more experiences there are, the differently a killer will make his decisions. These old books can only offer guidance.” He would so much like to ask a question, his face looked thoughtful, he decided to remain silent.

[15:28:51] Red Bloodrose eyes Haru and she cannot veil the gaze that she has, A girl who’s Master appreciates and loves her. There’s a shake of Red’s head. She adores her Master, she knows how he is, but there is a place in her that is envious and feels that as a girl, she is lacking. The words of Ember are noted, but she is taking a moment to reflect on her position a a slave, and eye Scar’s lap, hungrily.

[15:30:15] Byron Greenwood leaned forward, as though the candidate might just have hit the nail on the head; he almost seemed enthused. “Exactly! Fables are dreams, ideals, things to aspire too. But they ain’t fucking reality. We,” he motioned between himself and Crow, “live there. In the real world. And there are no easy answers in the real world. Alone, every killer has to decide, himself, in the moment, what to do, what to think. These lessons – and only these – are the ones to listen to. Next question, then. What if the answer to a single question is different when asked of one killer then another?”

[15:37:44] Crow (melchior.wardell) remained quiet. He had truly pained himself as to wonder how he could make his point come across. But every time he again was faced with the same questions and frustration. He couldn’t help the fact that even some killers acted different than he would – and – yet he always gave them room and yet felt himself being questioned by a candidate. Crow was not the murderous kind of trainer, although if his other side would surface he could be rigid, cold, detached and very swift.

[15:39:42] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would listen, noting Red looking over at her and offering her a warm smile. Red was one of the few that she trusted; the girl had been supportive during her rough times and she would not forget that. Blowing her a kiss, she would turn her attentions back to the talk between Scar and Ember, just enjoying the moment of quiet by her master’s side. Connected. Present. His.

[15:43:13] Ember had been thinking about the question because it had been bothering him for some time “If the answer is different for one killer than for another, it indicates different experiences. A young killer will act differently than an experienced killer. The only question then is, if a test is to be carried out, which answer is then considered correct and whether it depends on the experience of the killer asking the question.” And that was exactly what worried him, no one knew the experience of the respective killers and what answer would be expected. Would the killers understand what he meant and what he was worried about

[15:51:41] Red Bloodrose is how she is. Floating, A piece of slut flesh. The girl might be in words the first girl of the Lodge, but as a girl and as a first girl… the Master needs to avow his confidence. As such.. she looks at her kneeling position,, asking her Master cooly “Might I rise Master?”. She’d adored him.. perhaps she was foolish to do so,

[15:54:38] Crow (melchior.wardell) would turn his attention to Red when she spoke. It was not often the girl broke up the conversation to ask his attention. Surely the man was a hard owner for his slave. He would pull the lock of hair playful as to see if Haru was still paying attention. Surely he hears the question of the candidate – and yes he understood what he meant. Yet did the man have so little faith in Crow ? That his answer would be not good enough ? Who did he fear with the answers he had provided ?

[15:57:11] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) was completely paying attention and at the little playful tug she would turn her head and look to her master. She would not break from the pose he had ordered her into; his favourite kneel, bracelets with her hands bound behind her at the wrist with an invisible ribbon. She would push her chest forward, though, as if to tease him – flesh straining against the cloth of her camisk, the chains digging slightly into her flesh. She looks at him questioningly, curious if there was more to that pull.

[16:00:34] Byron Greenwood directly pointed at the candidate, still leant forward. “-You- decide. As we all do. As we all -must-. Does the answer feel -right- to you? Ask that every time. But remember, always, who and what you are. You’re a learner, a man in training, learning from those that have earned their place. A place above yours. Young, old, who the fuck cares? They are -all- more experienced than -you-. You might expect a thing to be this or that, but is it true? How the fuck would -you- know? I’ve seen young killers blaze a trail old killers would envy. I’ve seen old killers quell the mighty. And, true enough, I’ve seen some fall. But -you- ain’t the judge here. -We- are. You consider -every- word of advice they give, you think about it. You decide. But there’s a line between questioning for clarification and questions because you -think- you know better. You don’t. Who the fuck do you think you are, candidate? -Nothing- out there,” he waved to the window, “is like anything in these fucking books,” he kicked the books dropped on the floor before him. “You are -never- going to be in -that- world. It don’t exist, save for in those pages. You understand me?” he pressed. Only then after his speech, did he look to his slave. “Rise, sit, do what you want, but don’t interrupt again.”

[16:08:34] Ember swallowed briefly and nodded at the killer’s words “You’re right killer. I am only a learner and not a judge.” Here and now, he would not give an example of how he was almost killed because he gave the words he was taught to a killer as an answer.

[16:10:47] Crow (melchior.wardell) knew Scar to be tough, strong, fiece and unwilling to compromise to this demeanor of being cold or detached. It must be hard for a man in training to face him and yet he hoped this would resolve the questions the candidate seemed to search. As he hears him swallow he perked a brow “Now speak of what you fear or whom? Since here you seem to give the perfect answers … and yet you keep questioning every time we speak ?”

[16:11:28] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would watch, listening. She always adored when she was permitted to listen in. Heck, who knew, she might make a fantastic killer one day herself – she just needed to grow a pair of balls and cut her tits off… wait.. no, she liked her tits. Her master liked them and she wasn’t sure if a sausage was his preference. No, she was fairly certain he had no interest in that kind of meat.

[16:15:22] Byron Greenwood noted Crow rising, which could not be missed, but still keenly looked to the candidate. “I see through you, candidate. I see you still question. You dance the fine line we all did when we were in training. With skill? That would be noted to your benefit. Like a dullard? Well, that might just get you killed. Look to -him-” he motioned to Crow. “Let me see your worth as you answer what -he- demands.” He then settled back in his seat, a hand resting upon Red’s head. “Tonight’s performance,” he said, more directed to his slave.

[16:20:07] Red Bloodrose raises her hands, dashing her tears away. She does not raise, but likewise she is wordless. Her worth has been communicated, and she considers rising to his lap, and shakes her head, not for this moment.. There is a pause, and she visibly rises to her knees, waiting for the response of the Candidate for her Master.

[16:23:47] Ember turned to Crow and looked in his pocket for a piece of scroll and handed it to him “Killer this is just one of many examples of what has been taught. I’m not naming names or accusing anyone. The killer who taught us asked questions a few days later and when I answered the words he said were correct, I was almost killed. I was very annoyed that I hadn’t thought through my answer better.
his head turned forward again “Yes killer, I was told that only those who ask get answers. If there’s an order for me not to, I’ll follow it in the future” he spoke thoughtfully and respectfully

[16:27:33] Crow (melchior.wardell) would take the note and scanned it. The words drifted to him. He sighed deeply and would give it to his girl to pass it to Scar. “It isn’t the questions … it is how you ask. But when I read this I can understand the confusion.” he would regard Scar “He had a test with Sirius and he was clearly taught that these words were not how we perceive the caste.” he pondered. “Perhaps this should be addressed with the ranked officers and those that wish to partake in training.”

[16:32:17] Ember “mercenary work” as a killer’s task and it was judged to be correct and I didn’t think about it and assumed it was correct. So it was my mistake too. I have learned from this to always question everything

[16:32:36] Crow (melchior.wardell) would quote from the book “Since the siege of Ar, when Pa-Kur, Master Assassin, had violated the limits of his caste and had presumed, in contradiction to the traditions of Gor, to lead a horde upon the city, intending to make himself Ubar, the Caste of Assassins had lived as hated, hunted men, no longer esteemed mercenaries whose services were sought by cities, and, as often by factions within cities. Now many assassins roamed Gor, fearing to wear the somber black tunic of their caste, disguised as members of other castes, not infrequently as warriors.”

[16:37:32] Ember He heard the killer’s words he quoted and turned around speechlessly to say quietly to himself “For the answer ‘mercenary work’ a killer wanted to draw his dagger.” he would look for it in his scrolls and hope that the killer would bring clarity to his knowledge

[16:41:18] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would make room for her master as he stood and moved about, relaxing again as he sat once more. Hopefully she and Red weren’t going to end up with extra scrubbing duties.

[16:43:46] Byron Greenwood listened to Crow, though, truth be told, he seemed to be somehow enjoying the exchange. Not that he smiled nor laughed nor otherwise showed such emotion. More that he basked in the proverbial knife fight he’d just summoned into being. Yet, since Crow directed musings to him, he felt obliged to give answer. “My men know how to conduct themselves, and if they should need -my- prompting, it’s right here,” he laid hand on his gladius. “But, no. The lesson here is not for my men. It’s for -this- man here. I could kill you now. I don’t need no reason. I could just do it. As could Crow. Who the fuck will know? Who would question? -That- is your place. You want to live, candidate? You want a career? A caste? You think -this- is your path to it? Say a killer tasks you some bullhshit task. Why? Is the killer an idiot or is he testing you? But are -you- the idiot for fucking up how it plays out? -We- aren’t on trial here. -You- are. Find a way to get past this. Find out, as we all did, how to play this political game.of powers. Or die. You were told the risks from the start, no? Start shaping up. Learn cunning. Learn art. Gain skill. Or your quest will be short. You understand me?”

[16:47:20] Red Bloodrose is.. uncomfortable. She is the first girl – he Master has decreed such, but her position is such that she is.. not happy in her role. The men can talk how the men are, and they can wave their penis’s (in crow’s case TWO penises), but however. Her role is as first girl. Her thoughts on that…. will continue, but the questons are there to be asked.

[16:51:37] Crow (melchior.wardell) would nod towards Scar “For every right answer there is a wrong one. If I would take my time to hunt down those killers that not see it like I do – I would not have my fortune. I would have a pile of impostors at the dock.” his words were sharp and true. “They can not question me nor can I question theirs. Still I am here and still those you spoke to live. Our talent is not only in the blade, candidate. It is also in moving with what is presenting before you. Adapt. Learn, measure, and for a candidate silence.” he would regard the two girls “These girls can tell you exactly which killer likes to ask questions as to test you to see you fail. When you learn to master him – you might be up to par to learn the craft.”
[16:53:15] Crow (melchior.wardell): ((oeh … that is very cryptic – but it is late 😀 ))

[16:54:23] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would tilt her head, listening to her master’s words. She could see Red’s discomfort and gives her a supportive look but she kept her focus on the here and now. Killers who liked to ask questions, she knew who was the most savage of them all, at least around the campfire. Though there was fierce competition for that title with another.

[16:59:00] Ember “I understand you Killers and I know we’re being tested. Cunning, art and skill “ repeated the 3 words and thought briefly of Woody who had taught him to sneak, read writing on his head and fight in the arena and who had now sailed away. ”
“Killers asking questions – testing, testing us.“ and also heard Haru’s comment” That’s good on the one hand, as it shows us candidates our gaps in knowledge.” He didn’t mention the other side now, he would deal with it somehow.

[17:09:48] Byron Greenwood gravely nodded. “You will be tested in many ways, not least by false and fake notions. But no task you will be set by an assassin of the Lodge will be among them, though they might not be any more easy to resolve. Scenarios presented as something to consider, which will stand you in good stead alter on, might prove more questionable. But to argue with the killer presenting it as not the best way to lend yourself to their support. Without such support, you are nothing. It might even end you,e he coolly observed. ((Also, Haru didn’t speak IC, but narrated an emote. Don’t let me catch you making that mistake again. It WILL get you invalided by a sim mod.))

[17:12:31] Red Bloodrose decides quietly to ignore the drama of the men, nestling herself about the muscled calf of her Master, lips teasing on that muscled flesh happily, arms reaching out on his leg, begging him wordlessly for his manly attentions, near panting her wordless need for her handsome Master.

[17:16:58] Crow (melchior.wardell) would shake his head “When one arrives at the date in which a killer questions. He wants to know what you know. He doesn’t want to know what you do not know.” he reasons. “In fairness I rather have a candidate tell me he wants to learn than him telling me something he believes I wish to hear. I beat even killers into walls if they dare to do so. I respect truth over dribbles of words that they might have collected from years and years of penning down statements of others.”

[17:19:07] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would nod her head in agreement. She’d seen him do it. Crow’s words weren’t just fluff and cotton candy. Seeing how Red moved to drape herself over Scar, she couldn’t help but grin. A glance back to her own master to see if he was watching; observing, wondering for a moment how he would react if she were to do the same, especially given her had ordered her in pose.

[17:22:28] Ember ((no more demanding RP after midnight, my concentration is usually already in the minus range))
lifts his head attentively at the words “arguing with a murderer” and thinks about when he should have argued with a killer. Perhaps it was a thoughtful exchange of opinions that was misunderstood.
“Killers, I’m not aware of any quarrel. I’m a thoughtful person. Different answers, different experiences give rise to different points of view. In order to understand things and not just parrot them, I have to be allowed to ask questions and question things. That has nothing to do with disrespect, but with finding the right answers to questions.”

[17:30:34] Byron Greenwood leaned forward again, intently. “Again, asking questions for clarification, good. Asking questions because you think you know better, bad.” He slumped back again. “We’re done here,” he waved dismissively. “You’re all dismissed. Crow, take this… whatever it is, back to the compound. You’re relieved for the night after that,” he ordered, a hand resting gently upon his slave’s head again. ((It’s already late for Crow, it’s late for me too, and we’re still on all firing on all cylinders. Keep it IC, dude. Again, this kind of conduct is the sort of thing that sells ‘bad rep’.))

[17:33:04] Crow (melchior.wardell) would see the look his girl gave and he than noted Red. He did not allow his girl to break protocol. He hardly demanded her in a kneeling position but when he did – he expected full obedience. He frowns at the words of the candidate but he did not respond. As Scar spoke he would lift himself up “Thank you, Killer.” he offered. He would push the chair as to have the candidate lift himself quick enough. “Come mine.” with a last wink towards Red he moved off.

[17:35:03] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would fall in behind her master, throwing Red another wink and dipping her head in respect to Scar. She didn’t speak, not in this moment – her orders, for now, were to follow orders and that was to heel. So quickly she hurried after Crow, sandals slapping lightly on the tile floor.

Where the heart goes

[12:40] Crow (melchior.wardell) shook his head “No … not a forge here.” he replied. Thankfully there was none for he might have to nod and in these parts nodding was a thing. “Excuse us all.” he would turn and move his shoulder into Haru’s mid section to have her raised upon his shoulder. He would give a good slam to her ass.

[12:45] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would follow along. Of course. She was up on his shoulder and being carried, giving a little squeal of enjoyment as he slaps her ass. She would wriggle, a faux little struggle but mostly she was adjusting her weight as he moved up the way to the compound, trying to make it easier for him to carry her weight. Was it the outfit she had chosen to wear? She looks down at the sheer silk she had chosen for that day, making a small mental note. A moment there she would squeak, a bounce as they stepped over something almost making her drop the bag of soap and herbs but she held onto it.

[12:49] Crow (melchior.wardell) would slowly let her fall to her feet. The outfit indeed had its effect upon him. As she would stand he would undress himself. “So … some private time.” he stated to her. As he was butt naked he would walk into the water. “So tell me what are your thoughts ? Do you enjoy the stay at the lodge ?” he asks. He pondered on a dilemma and wanted to create the right atmosphere to go down his choices when it came to their life.

[12:54] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would watch as he stripped, moving to help him if he desired it. She would not strip herself until he was ready and stepping into the water, waiting for him to be able to see her as she put a small show on, her hands sliding over her frame as she removed the sheer cloth. “I enjoy any time I am with you, My Master,” she says in her soft tones. “The lodge does certainly keep me busy,” she says with a slight nod. “And I do enjoy having girls around that we all get along together. Adira as well.” Of course, she was very close to Adira; the pair had been friends a long time. Since before the caste had ever laid its claim on her. Stepping down into the water, she would bring the herbs and soaps with her, placing them to the side of the bath, sliding up to her master and her hands over his thighs, looking up at him in curios question of the topic.

[12:58] Crow (melchior.wardell) would take her in his arms. He would move her locks of hair from her shoulder so he was allowed to look into her face. “You have been busy. I was very proud of you yesterday.” he compliments her. He would move forward as to steal a kiss. “And the candidates ? What are you thoughts on them ?” he asks as he would hold her steady in his lap. The water warm enough to be comfortable and enjoyable.

[13:04] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would snuggle up into his lap, tilting her head as he brushed her hair. She enjoyed the gesture but she would slip her arms around his shoulders in a similar gesture. The bathing could begin soon. For now she would enjoy the quiet moment of being alone and having him to herself. The cuddles. At his compliment, she would flush slightly. “Thank you, My Master,” she purrs. “Learning the sleen is… something new, but I wish only to make you happy.” And that meant proud and all the other positive emotions. Of course, she also didn’t want to get eaten, so being in Hecate’s favour had its own little bonus there. She would lean in, nuzzling him a moment before pulling away as he mentioned the candidates. “They have potential, My Master,” she says. “But I suspect with the slow game, one or both will end up lured to their death.” He knew what she meant; he’d ordered her and Adira to play such a game. Not the quick game but something much slower. Steadier. “They do seem to rush things a little, though, as if hurrying will lead them to an earlier stand.”

[13:10] Crow (melchior.wardell) would listen as he would watch how she spoke. He knew she was considerate in the words she spoke. As she mentioned the candidates he would nod – he had his own observations. He would take the brush from behind and would ask her to turn so he could brush her hair. “There is a thing i wish you to know.” he started. “We have been here for some time now. And at times the compound can be quiet and on others day overwhelming.” he added. “The compound can be challenging and demanding. Even if there are more than a few about.” With long strokes he would work her hair – conscious in his motion. Loving and tenderly grooming his girl. Something he enjoyed much and yet there was often so little time for these intimate settings.

[13:16] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would turn as he did so, giving an audible purr as he began to brush her hair. She was a sucker for that. It was relaxing and enjoyable both at the same time. She could almost curl up with dish of milk in front of the fire like this. He was behind her though and as she nodded her head to his words, she could not reach him fully. Instead, she would draw her fingers up and over his knees and thighs. A light dance of her sharpened nails. “This is true, My Master,” she says in her soft tones. “It is the first place in a long time where I have not even had the time to travel and keep my eyes in other cities.” The lodge definitely kept her busy most days. Still, he had something to tell her so she kept her response short.

[13:19] Crow (melchior.wardell) could feel her nails on his skin and it made him have goosebumps. As he continued with the brush he would speak further. “There is another love I have.” he started. A small confession in his words if she would pay attention. “It is a love that is a secret – a love affair – that is never spoken or showed in a way any Gorean man that is outside of my caste would be able to do.” he would move forward and bury his nose in her hair for a moment and than planting a kiss. “But this lover has called upon me.” he finally admitted.

[13:24] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would draw circles with those claws but not push too far; she was enjoying the hair brushing in a selfish moment of indulgence. Her head would tilt to the side as he spoke his words, though. Listening to them. This was new, something he’d not broached with her before. “A mistress, My Master?” she asks. “Am I to have a mistress?” He could hear the surprise in her voice. The guessing. “Is it the mistress physician?” She was the only lady really allowed within the compound so far; there was the other but that one she knew had been unknown to her master.

[13:28] Crow (melchior.wardell) would come out of a daze when she asked him of a woman. As she spoke of Faye his brow would even arch further. Had she seen things he had not been aware off ? surely faye might like him but had he ever showed any interest ? There had been very few women in his life that had caught his eye. He would place the brush back and have her face him again. “No no.” he replied. “There is no mistress or even another slave, mine.” he contemplated. “Why would you think so ?” He was very much unaware as to how she had understood his words. Surely only a man could be so oblivious to it.

[13:32] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would turn on his lap, sliding her arms around his neck again as her fingers curled into his hair. She enjoyed it when he had those long locks though short did look so dashing on him, too. Heck, he was just handsome no matter which way he styled his hair. She even liked his beard even if she was known to threaten shaving men’s faces. In humour, of course. She wouldn’t actually date. “She is the only woman truly allowed in the compound, My Master,” she says. It made sense to her. “And I’ve not seen you sneaking off to….” She takes pause, her dark hues flickering over him. “Is it a man?” Why not? The vast majority of masters she had in the past had a leaning towards men – so it wouldn’t surprise her. “I… have never suspected such, My Master.”

[13:38] Crow (melchior.wardell) would look at her shocked “Hell no !!” as she started to go on about men. “What do you think of me?!” he questioned with what seemed to be utter amazement. “I am not talking about a woman nor a man.” he stated almost as if he was offended. “And before you start … I am not in bestiality either.” he quickly added just so she wouldn’t go on that route. The mere erection that had perhaps formed was all of a sudden no where to be seen.

“My secret love affair is that of my Home Stone Ar.” he stated. He knew that by admitting this – he was already breaking his codes. Although one might wonder if any Gorean man would truly ever really denote it. Sure he held no honor for it. He did not serve it any more. But the first love each Gorean learned was that of his parents and Home Stone. Glorious Ar was his.

[13:43] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would relax a little as he decried the idea of men but she would reach up, brushing her hair behind his ear and then drawing one of her nails across his jawline, enjoying the sharpness of it. “I know that sometimes you like to surprise me, My Master,” she says. But he brought up bestiality and she would wrinkle her nose at that. Oh, eww. Eww eww eww, he did not just go there. “Such a thing would never have entered my mind, My Master,” she says, going a little wide-eyed.

He spoke then of Ar and she would smile, her eyes lighting up. “Ar is a wonderful city, My Master, and it was where I first saw you.” She says with a nod of her head. “And it is much like Kar, to me, holds most of my memories.” Not Genesian Port where steel had first found her; nor the Pani isles she had spent a long time. She leans in then, wriggling into his lap more. She wanted that erection back. Bring it back! “It calls to you, My Master?” she asks now, wanting for an explanation. “But the city is in dust?”

[13:49] Crow (melchior.wardell) grinned when she wrinkled her nose. Surely he could not picture himself in such either. But when she spoke of Ar he could see the change in her demeanor and was touched by it. “I doubt Glorious Ar ever really falls to dust. It just has these moments in which it holds its breath. And yes it calls upon me.” he admitted. “The Lodge is doing well and there needs to be a representative in such a city as Ar.” he would move her as he snuggled into her hair. “For some reason I do not wish it to be run by anyone else but me. I know this sounds arrogant, but I guess when it comes to Ar … I the killer Crow can be a jealous bastard that does not want to share it.”

[13:55] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would wriggle on his lap as he spoke of Ar. It was a prestigious city with a lot behind her and indeed, she had her own history and love affair with the place. If anywhere came on par with Kar, it would be Ar if only short by a few points. She was, after all, a big city girl at heart. Long ago were the days where Geo had allowed her to serve in his tavern in the same city, the only non-caste owned girl he had permitted such though she did not know it. Her escapades exploring the rooftops as she moved from wall to wall, building to building. The stories she had. Her head bobs, though, as he speaks of the breath holding. “Hai, it is the way of our cities,” she says softly. It wasn’t just Ar that seemed to come and go on a king’s whim. Her hands would slide off his shoulders, running now down and over his chest, letting those claws of hers dance their little dance as they ventured further. “Are we going to Ar then, My Master?” she asks. She wasn’t stupid, reading into his words. Still, she would play a little game with him and give him a small, playful push. “Not willing to share it, yet you are willing to share me if asked?” she teases with honey lips.

[13:59] Crow (melchior.wardell) would cuddle her some more and as she questioned he frowns. “Yes although we still will spend time here too. Something I learned from Port Kar … I need a spot to hide and relax.” he shared. “We will not move just yet … but we can prepare and such.” as she spoke of sharing he frowns. “I never had the request as to share you. I would not know what to answer if anyone questioned.” he admitted. He was normally not a greedy or selfish bastard. “Why keep such a beautiful and very sensual beast all for myself.” he asks her as he would move her once more. So they would remain comfortable in the water.

[14:07] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would nod her head ever so sagely. She understood. They barely had time to themselves here in the lodge. There were a lot of things to take care of; a lot of responsibilities. EVen this moment in the bath was a rarity and she was enjoying it so much. Just them, their words and their love for each other. And Ar. “I shall prepare a selection of clothing, My Master,” she says in her soft tones. “Will you be taking up the scribe mantle?” She had blue, of course, to wear for such a time. Still, she would look at him a moment as her hands slipped between his thighs, fingers seeking his flesh at least until he denied any such request. The doll would grin, reaching up with a hand to boop him on the nose. “Master M did request, back in Lost City, and you did agree.” She chuckles some. “But he has never; I suspect it was about the chase for him.” Or something like that; she was not concerned by it – just found it humorous. Still, he questioned why he would keep her to himself and she would lean in, bringing her face to his. “I am yours, My Master, and care only for your attentions.” Anything else, such as luring the seekers, was just a part of her duty. Yet she knew she was property and he could do as he wished with her. A slave, a pet, a lover and a companion all in their different aspects. An object and a tool yet also a part of him. “Without you, I would be lost.”

[14:15] Crow (melchior.wardell) would feel her hands between his thigh and would not stop her. The moment of flesh against flesh an intimate one. One in which secrets could be shared. Insights could be given. And devotion could be shown. Crow although a cold and calculating assassin had a side to him he shielded for those not close enough.

Sure he could have sex and just act out upon lust. Yet he held a control over it. At rare moments he would allow that control to go and be the simple man that enjoyed his slave to the fullest

BC Event En’Kara Fair 2024

Posted in Black Caste, En'Kara Fair 2024 with tags , , , on March 23, 2024 by crow1971

Here is the full transcript of the event at the En’Kara Fair – Questions you wished to ask an Assassin but never dared to ask. Much thanks for Red to compile the notes.

[10:00] Obsidian (thom.podlum) shouts: ‘Ladies, Gents, and beasts. It is our great pleasure to see so many living, breathing, clients, ummm, I mean people here today. This is your chance to ask what you wish of the men in black. As a reminder, we will consider all here today as OOC. And with that, i will ask my fellow men in black to briefly introduce themselves, starting with the Killer to my far left.’ Obs looked to Byron, then stepped back.

[10:02] Byron Greenwood: Welcome, all, this our question and answer session for En’Karfa 2024. I am Scar, of the Black Lodge, Master Assassin, trained at the original Black Caste Tented Compound by Solomon Voss. My partner during training was Severus Koskinen. Those assisting Solomon were Sarus Lohner, Vincent Cassady, Nizmo Raymaker and Cancifer Ogg. I am likely to be the oldest caste member here present.

[10:03] Conrad (achlysnightfire): Greetings. I am Conrad, the only blonde assassin of Gor it seems chuckles I trained with Colton-Dru quite some time ago (2013) and am a caste master assassin now. At the moment I have a court in Forest Port, the new one of course, where the caste is outlawed so I move in the shadows and plot to gain control of the Port thanks to an amazing group of role players. Waves to the ladies from the Port who are there

[10:04] Chronepsis: My name is Chronepsis, I passed my stand in 2012, and my trainer was Storm (Cheveyo Stormcrow). I am not in any particular city, and you’ll mostly probably see me wandering.

[10:04] αяѕυѕ (daimos.baarer): Greetings, I am Arsus, my camp is located in Kassau, the door to the north, been a member of the caste for a long time. I’m jokingly called the silent killer because I often just listen and say little. I’m ancient in SL as well as in RL 🙂

[10:05] Myrddin (drizantlar.veriander): To a few here I am simply known as “M”, to many more due to a certain slave -eyes feather-. I have become known as the natorious not-a-baker. Googles of goeeans have fallen at my feet for one way or another. I live a simple life of gold and steel. I am the Master Assassin of Genesian Port, a Lieutenant in the Gorean Black Caste (GBC) ran by the ‘old’ man to my right, who is very old. Did I mention he’s old?

[10:05] Skuld Forkbeard (charly.snowfield) she listen to the killers story and takes not for blackmail later on, the caste her eyes on M and smirks.

[10:05] Obsidian (thom.podlum) stepped forward once again. ‘Greetings again. Most simply call me Obs. Born of Heimdal, my home now is in Boswell Pass as the Master Assassin of the GBC. Trained under the great Colton Dark. And I, well, have the reputation for being the most …. romantic Killer. At least that is what i was voted a few years ago at this very fair. But I shall say, that is a complete lie.’

[10:05] Crow (melchior.wardell) would look about himself. There was a certain degree of authority about him. One that had come over the many years in his caste. “My name is Crow. I am currently the Court Master within Port Kar. But you might have seen me in Ar and the Lost City. ” he knew that some already might question as to why but he would let that linger “I was trained by Solomon Voss, Serpent, Scar, Judas and many others. The training was cruel and hard, but it made me earn the black livery. Even though some say I am more pretty in purple.” he grinned and glanced towards Arsus “I started with a high habitability talent, but over the years I lost that talent but have kept my ability to use some humor – even if it is dark or hard to understand.”

[10:06] Judy Daines (judy.wunderland): smiles, listening

[10:06] Black Ost (daricmarano) would turn and move his eyes over a few familiar faces from his training all those vars ago, though he nodded to each as introductions were made. “Greetings. I am known as Daric, I trained with Cancifer Ogg at the Black Caste Tented Compound. I am presently serving the Court in Port Kar under the Master Assassin Crow beside me and I swear we did not plan matching outfits.” He motioned to Crow with a chuckle, as he shook his head.

[10:06] Forneus (mrwhisker): Greetings. I am Forneus, I passed my stand in January of last year, my Mentor was Xaphan, many of the Killers here assisted in my training. I tend to wander the cities of Gor looking for contracts and potential contacts for the caste.

[10:07] Obsidian (thom.podlum): ‘And now, Ladies, Gents, and beasts as well …. your questions. We will do our best to address as many as possible.’ (And a reminder, we are RPing but OOC.)

[10:07] Obsidian (thom.podlum): ‘Who dares go first?’

[10:07] Collin Daines: raises hand

[10:07] Aisha (aishacampbell18): o/

[10:07] Obsidian (thom.podlum) nods to Collin.

[10:08] Conrad (achlysnightfire): then Aisha

almost killed me long ago… nothing like nearly dying to give some respect QUESTION:

[10:08] Aisha (aishacampbell18): “Can an assassin one day become an initiate?”

[10:08] Collin Daines: pfft

[10:09] Collin Daines: Can the caste be hired not just to kill.. but to kidnap people? and if not why not

[10:10] Obsidian (thom.podlum): ‘Excellent. We shall address the Ubar’s question, then the ladies.’ Obs turned to the men and looked toward M.

[10:11] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): Raises her hand… and waits her turn.

[10:11] Myrddin (drizantlar.veriander) nods his chin slight “There is no cardinal rule against an assassin kidnapping someone, as a matter of fact its even spoken about in the later books of an assassin doing such… personally for me, it would depend on the reason and to whom and why,… ” he said “if I was asked to go kidnap some random slave, I would point to the slaver’s house… However if it was to say Meek for example, and there was a good reason yeah I’d prob capture and turn her over. Might lead to more work.”

[10:12] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel) listened and then eyeballed Conrad but waved back to him*

[10:12] Obsidian (thom.podlum): Noted Thad’s hand.

10:12] Thaddeus Himura Dexing (dlmiksch): @

[10:12] Ella De Wren Bade (elladewren): @

[10:12] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): @

[10:13] Crow (melchior.wardell) added “since we are people too with preferences and so it is possible that the player you are addressing will not use himself for a certain contract due to his own considerations or story.

[10:13] Byron Greenwood: Ubar, the expression ‘take a life or defend a life’ applies. That is, we may be hired to guard a life as well as take a life. There is good evidence in the books to suggest this, as mentioned. Each Killer considers each contract alone.

[10:14] Obsidian (thom.podlum) looked back to Collin and nodded. ‘And now the second question from the lady.’ Obs looked to Forneus.

[10:14] Forneus looks to Aisha and says calmly, in a level tone. “We would not take that caste for a few reasons. The first is this, once you have won the black, the only way out is through a grave. Second, We are the most hated and feared of castes on gor, A Killer becoming an Initiate in truth would be rather akin to an Assassin appointing himself Ubar. In essence it would overturn the very purpose of our caste, which is to shore up the fabric of the society of Gor.”

[10:15] Myrddin (drizantlar.veriander): Pay me enough and I’ll shave my head bald…

[10:15] Obsidian (thom.podlum) kicks Myr

[10:16] Myrddin (drizantlar.veriander): Oww

[10:17] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): Thank you for the overview OOC and what a friendly bunch you all eem – grin- . “Garnering there is a lot of work and dedication to the life you lead as per your descriptions of your time in caste and training. My question relates to jobs you will or wont do?

Do you only kill for coin ? Or…. since the other Master asked the question she added to it instead…

Under protection of a life then, would you have a wide defintion of this? I can think of some examples if needed, but would like to hear first?

[10:17] Denise (deniseflor): I raise my gloved hand waiting to be called.

[10:18] Conrad (achlysnightfire): We kill for coins and when we protect someone we do it for coins, so in thend, if we kill to protect someone, it is always for coins …. actually gold!!!

[10:18] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): What about not killing – a fake death?

[10:18] Obsidian (thom.podlum) looked also to Thadd. ‘Would you voice your question good sir?’

[10:19] Thaddeus Himura Dexing (dlmiksch): Byron brought up a good point yesterday. It was concerning entry into a city, port, village etc. of a marked killer and how it should be handled. Please, explain the books view on this as well as the caste’s view itself marked vs. unmarked

[10:19] Obsidian (thom.podlum) turns to Conrad to address the follow up that the lady posed.

[10:21] Kelsier (galem.starship) entered chat range (3.52 m).

[10:22] Byron Greenwood: That tradition has held for the longest time. A garrison should always let a Killer through a gate into a city if he marked, and he will bring in what he desires without comment – i.e. weapons, so forth.. If not, he is to be treated as any citizen of Gor should be treated, save that he is a man of caste. Low caste, yes. But caste all the same.

[10:23] Conrad (achlysnightfire): And it is in the books, we are not making it up

[10:23] Alma Coeur turned a sideways glance to Mira and snorts. “They’re just men that kill for a living.”

[10:23] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): Thank you for the query the reason of my question, it related to my comment on your caste dedication. Would it be an insult to fake a death, or , if a prior answer about protection of life for coin woudl be justifiable enough to fake a death. How wide is the definition of ” protection of life ” So yes you could for a lure, but i was more trying to see if the Black caste had a heart ( laughing) …. would they perhaps … have means ot achieve an objective of protection ( for gold) without killing someone, but faking someones death. instead.
[10:23] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): ( for gold)

[10:24] Ella De Wren Bade (elladewren) listens waiting her turn.

[10:24] Mira (miraea) grins, “Yeah… exactly…”

[10:24] Byron Greenwood: I should add, it was good to see the Caste of Warriors afirm they will hold to this tradition.

[10:24] Thaddeus Himura Dexing (dlmiksch): Thank you killers.

[10:24] Obsidian (thom.podlum) looked to Ella and also to Toi. ‘Please pose your questions.’

[10:24] Ella De Wren Bade (elladewren): My question is a two part one. You have stated that there are cases where one of your caste may take a contract of protection. Would you take one knowing that the most likely one you would be protecting against would be another of your caste. Essentially, making it so you took a contract on another killer who had a contract to take out the one you had a contract to protect. counts on her fingers to make sure she had the right number of contracts listed and nods And Would that mean you need another contract for the kill to kill the killer contracted to kill your protectee or do they get two jobs for the price of one?

[10:24] Nia Luna (nialuna): I heard that the black caste is highly honored everywhere and it is an honor if such an assassin appears in the city
[10:24] Conrad (achlysnightfire): chuckles “our heart has been buried the day we killed our friend and partner in training”

[10:25] Chronepsis: On a side OOC note though, there were several rules that caused headaches. There were some cities back in the day that required you to put “Marked” on your meter, and ostensibly this allowed you to wander around the city so you can do your job. It had the opposite effect, in that when you walked in the city every warrior in there was keeping track of you. So, need to be careful and sometimes about those rules on an OOC level.

[10:25] Ella De Wren Bade (elladewren) smiles and dips her head hearing all she needed in answer

[10:26] Iɾιʂԋღ™ (irish.breen) ughs as she totally agree’s about the ‘ omg they have a mark omg its a panther, map map who’s gonna map.

[10:26] Byron Greenwood: At the gate, I would suggest the warrior there should do what he must to confirm if a Killer is marked or not. Then the matter proceeds from there.

[10:27] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): This is a hypothetical questions of course for one or all to answer.

How would the caste or any Killer take being tricked and then captured by lets says a women or by anyone really. Then held for a few days before let go. Now they are not hurt or tutored or anything. They did it just to see if they could and have a nice chat with them?

I know this seems strange but i am curious how it would be taken and possible handled if it ever happened

[10:28] Nia Luna (nialuna): I wish the black caste to have more of you and live as long as possible…smiles

[10:29] Nia Luna (nialuna): you are all great and honorable caste

[10:29] Allerd it>en: Nia they always live are the others who die ….

[10:30] Black Ost (daricmarano) shook his head a bit. He would glance to Toi. “Tricked and captured. We live by the sword, we expect to die by it. It likely depends on the killer, but personally I’d rather die by the sword in those situations so I am afraid it would be a rather…boring conversation with me.”

[10:30] Nia Luna (nialuna): yes i know Alerd …but it is only my wishes for them

[10:31] Conrad (achlysnightfire): Toi, reaction to your scenario may vary depending on the killer

[10:31] Nia Luna (nialuna): yes….it is honorable die at sword..we panthers agree with this

[10:31] Denise (deniseflor): Has any woman ever killed a man of this caste? Or did she cheat? Would she be convicted if she killed such a man by murder? Even though he is a assassin?Do they disguise themselves by pretending to be another caste? If the caste is forbidden, is their enemy the red caste?

[10:31] Byron Greenwood: I can assure, no matter what petty mission you bring our way, we have endured far worse. All of us. Best to treat us with extreme caution. We are not well known for our humour, nor are we forgiving.

[10:32] Iɾιʂԋღ™ (irish.breen) nods nods to Nia Death before a Collar.

[10:33] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): That would make sense I was just curious and if you found out one of your caste members had that happen.. how would treat them or would that different to each killer as well?

[10:33] Mira (miraea) reaches up and rubs her chin, “Kidnapping a black caste for a few days…” she nudges Alma, “Sounds like a fun weekend don’t you think?”

[10:33] Nia Luna (nialuna): yes death is better how collar

[10:34] Taslin (sadiqueviiix): was listening, learning none the less

[10:34] Forneus raised a finger. “Ella, To ensure I’ve got your question correct I’ll take it in order. Point one: In the case of taking a contract where I know another Killer has already accepted a contract against your life. Personally, I probably wouldn’t. There is nothing in the books or rules preventing me from taking that contract but I personally, knowing how hard the training is to get through, would prefer not to reset a Killer’s story like that. Even if I was to take that contract, it would be a truly ruinous sum I would claim as my price for the simple reason that I know I must bring coin into the caste to retrain that Killer’s replacement, or my own. Depending on which of us succeeded. Now, of course this changes if I accept the contract first, and then a Killer is contracted against your life, that changes the question, and we would each do our best in pursuit of our contracts. There is nothing saying the Killer must strike while I am protecting my client. If he can find a time when my client sends me away. Well, that avoids the issue of one of us killing the other. One of the core rules of the caste is that we do not take coin against another Killer. For the second part of your question. I would reference my last statement regarding a contract against the caste. I would also add that if I see another way to protect my client than the sword, I will always explore that alternative first. For example, ordering you to flee or be quiet while I defuse the situation. There is more to protecting a client than simply downing someone that is verbally aggressive towards her.

[10:34] Alma Coeur just shook her head at Mira’s comment. “You never want to get on their bad side… or good side for that matter.”

[10:34] Iɾιʂԋღ™ (irish.breen): good answers!

[10:34] Crow (melchior.wardell): A woman that has killed an assassin ? I am sure if she has been able the killer got what he deserved. Since if his skill did not stop her – he is not worthy of the livery.

[10:35] Ella De Wren Bade (elladewren): @

[10:36] Nia Luna (nialuna): it is honor for us here talk with all black

[10:36] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): i know i am a weird Physician but thank you for answering my question

[10:36] Obsidian (thom.podlum) chuckles quietly at Alma’s comment. Then notes Ella’s hand.

[10:36] Thaddeus Himura Dexing (dlmiksch): I have been witness to a slave beating a killer with a broom to incapacitate him after a kill. But, very uncommon I am sure.

[10:37] Crow (melchior.wardell): I am one not to underestimate a slave or a woman – We had once a broom of Laura she was lethal with a broom.

[10:37] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): laughs

[10:38] Rapture (rapture.enchantment) listens on.

[10:38] Nia Luna (nialuna): you are all black fought with panthers too a lot ?

[10:38] Byron Greenwood: Thaddeus, I have seen a slave of mine beat a Killer with a broom. In fact, that slave was the one from Laura, and was owned by me. I think that should say it all.

[10:38] Lynaia (atheria.evergarden): Brooms can be scary in the right hand.

[10:38] Feather (alarica.lutrova) whispers “Or sticks…”

[10:39] Daffodil Crimson: and fryin pans

[10:39] Ashley (cuddlypuppy21): be wary of pans too

[10:39] Conrad (achlysnightfire): It also depends on the story, how she manages to do that and why …. it is not something you can judge once and for all, Toi

[10:39] Thaddeus Himura Dexing (dlmiksch): shakes head and looks at Velvet “Brooms and pans look out!”

[10:39] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): yes i know but i was curious is all.. looks innocent*

[10:39] turnipsauce snickers

[10:39] Myrddin (drizantlar.veriander): Denise, to answer your question Yes we do disguise ourselves as other castes. If the caste is forbidden, we probably won’t be wandering around such a place as to are the warriors our enemy, I believe our caste is respected as to the law, and we are allowed to tend our caste duties until up to the kill then all bets are off. However, its well known the warriors don’t like us much. In Genesian Port its well known the Daines are a warrior caste family and for some odd reason they don’t seem to like me much, I wonder why…

[10:39] Crow (melchior.wardell): I agree – in all of this I think we killers are really trying to keep stories going – even though we end some too.

[10:40] Mira (miraea): Or a pencil. An effing pencil.

[10:40] Nia Luna (nialuna): What about the numbers in the black caste? Is it just you or are there more of you?

[10:40] Feather (alarica.lutrova) rolls her eyes at not-a-baker and chuckles

[10:41] Crow (melchior.wardell): Being in disguise is of course always a risk – since – when we are found out and trailed we could face a pike

[10:41] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): yes well i am sure poking at a BC even inf disguise is not a good idea.. either

[10:41] Black Ost (daricmarano) turned to Denise on her barrage of questions. He would wait for the first couple of questions to be answered before he would step forward to speak. “Do they disguise themselves by pretending to be another caste? Yes, often. Though again I cannot speak for all killers on this, but from personal experience I do indeed fill the role to position myself closer to a target. Gaining knowledge of the particular caste I am impersonating to further my alias, though to my own personal risk..should I be found out, which is probably why we take issue with those of the scarlet, though they are just doing their caste as we are.”

[10:41] Conrad (achlysnightfire): grins “no, it is not Toi”

[10:42] Obsidian (thom.podlum) shook his head at Toi

[10:42] Kelsier (galem.starship) looks up at Denise. “In answer to your question, ‘if the caste is forbidden, is their enemy the red caste’, the answer is variable. Save for a brief period of time after the events of Book 1, the Caste itself is not forbidden as of today. In case it was again, warriors would treat us as any other outlaw: not necessarily an enemy, but someone you drive away of your city. As of today, there is a rivalry between Warriors and Assassins, and being Warriors those tasked with defending a city and its citizens they often end up fighting against us. But outside of circumstances there is nothing setting the two Castes as sworn enemies, so in absence of antagonizing circumstances (which do happen often, of course) no, they are not enemy. Rivals, perhaps, and surely not fond of each other. But not actively trying to destroy each other.”

[10:42] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): shrugs* im a mean cranky Torvie women what can i say

[10:43] Ella De Wren Bade (elladewren): ”In follow up to Forneus’s answer. You stated that you would see if there was another way to protect your client. What happens if the person who contracts you for a kill is killed and you know for sure such is true. Do you continue with the contract or is it dropped? If so, would it not become a race at time between two killers to see who gets the target first?”

[10:43] Anya Sanglan (ayannacaro): raises hand

[10:43] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): @

[10:43] Chronepsis: A rivalry would be fun though. Like the assassins vs. templars in assassin’s creed. Long ongoing story of that sort.

[10:44] Obsidian (thom.podlum): Notes hands from Ira and Nia

[10:44] Judy Daines (judy.wunderland): grins

[10:44] Forneus looks to Ella and says calmly. “This is a simple answer. Once the contract is accepted, our life is on the line. We complete the contract or perish. There is no limit to the timeframe in which the contract is completed. But it MUST be completed.”

[10:45] Ella De Wren Bade (elladewren) nods and smiles then blinks seeing Aug, ”Thank you for your answer, not that I was asking in regards to my companion you understand.”

[10:45] Nia Luna (nialuna) shouts: nia up her hand

[10:45] Obsidian (thom.podlum) looks to Ira and Nia. ‘Questions?’

[10:46] Nia Luna (nialuna): yes i have than k you

[10:46] Crow (melchior.wardell): Ella – we need to complete – regardless what happens to our client

[10:46] Obsidian (thom.podlum): Looking still to Ira and Nia. ‘Please pose your questions.’

[10:46] Nia Luna (nialuna): Nia @

[10:46] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): Raises hand again… ….. great questions and answers so far! Since this is OOC and we IC dont want to ruin the character of a Killer and rightfully so… I ask PLAYFULLY question for all Killers who might wish to answer?

Q………What has been your most embarrassing moment playing your character and why lol did you ever have an ” awhhh shit” moment lol ?

[10:47] Myrddin (drizantlar.veriander): I did

[10:47] Nia Luna (nialuna): Nia@

[10:47] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): tell tell tell

[10:47] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): lol

[10:47] Nia Luna (nialuna): Are you the only one in the black caste, or are there more of you, or is your tradition disappearing?

[10:47] Crow (melchior.wardell): @ Ira-Tira – During training – attaching a cock with two heads when I was tortured. None were typing so I was wondering if I crashed – they were all laughing – and I was dying from embaressement.

[10:48] Anya Sanglan (ayannacaro): @

[10:48] Nia Luna (nialuna): a mean so you all only here or more

[10:48] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): Laughing at the example @ crow, two heads are alwayas better then one!

[10:48] Crow (melchior.wardell) was unaware of that functionality

[10:48] Chronepsis looks over at Crow and softly mouths the words, “What in the name of holy Hades…”

[10:49] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) peeks under her master’s tunic. “When do I get to see that one?” grins

[10:49] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): you might not have hearts but your all funny ! lol

[10:49] Lana (tatii.steampunk): kkkkkkkkk

[10:49] Crow (melchior.wardell) looks at Chronepsis “My capture task was quite easy when word went around.”

[10:49] Obsidian (thom.podlum) looks to Conrad. ‘There were certainly a few moments i recall with you in training, and a certain dead kur.’

[10:49] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): hearts*

[10:49] Obsidian (thom.podlum): ‘You can share it if you wish, Killer.’ He nodded to Conrad.

[10:49] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): now this i have to hear Obs

[10:49] Augustus Bade quietly strides up to join with Ella and Anya as the listen to th event.

[10:50] Nia Luna (nialuna): i give you my question

[10:50] Conrad (achlysnightfire): “disgustng, searching a Kur bowels .. you have no idea what they eat”

[10:50] Myrddin (drizantlar.veriander) coughs “Ok well this happened while I was in training actually disguised as a baker for Meek’s bakery who was at the time Collin’s companion and Ubara of Genesian Port. In a stroke of sheer genius least I thought so, I said that I had decided to state that I put teslik into the cookies as a secret ingredient… which ran to a outbreak of free woman fearing they were pregnant.. which lead to me being arrested and I having to go back to my mentor -looks at obsidian- to bail me out of trouble, and pay my three gold fine… ” he sighs “which lead to my notorious title not-a-baker. It taught me a great lesson, think before you open your mouth trying to be funny.”

[10:51] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): laughs

[10:51] Obsidian (thom.podlum) chuckled out loud this time. ‘Let’s just say, I was glad the dead beast had been buried in the snow for days before the rather disgusting trial as a lad.’

[10:51] Conrad (achlysnightfire): I was disguised as a slaver and was suspected of being there to kidnap free women so I ended up in prison for that

[10:51] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): claps , great stories!

[10:51] Lynaia (atheria.evergarden): Annnnnddd that is why no one eats anything from you now.

[10:52] Byron Greenwood: Nia, we are but the KIllers that elected to show up to the fair today for this session. There are others. Some come, some go. Some die, some live on. Some even are thought to have died and yet come back. We are as strong as we have ever been, I feel. Stronger, perhaps, for, over the years, the quality has much improved. Such is my opinion, based on observation, at least.

[10:53] Nia Luna (nialuna): thank you Assassin for you answer and i wish you all a lot health

[10:54] Nia Luna (nialuna): and be with us long timer

[10:54] Conrad (achlysnightfire): waves to Nia

[10:54] Myrddin (drizantlar.veriander): To add to Byron’s comments, if any wish to make a travel to Boswell Pass.. there are many memorials for killers who are no longer with us (passed away in real life). Anyone is welcome to travel to the pass and have a look at these memorials. There is also a collect of all of the flags of various killers over the time. This is a brotherhood and we killers respect each other and stand unified in this caste… and this is a showing of such a unification.

[10:54] Liam Whitesong entered the region (169.62 m).

[10:54] Obsidian (thom.podlum) looked to Anya and gerstured to her. ‘You have been ,ost patient Lady. Let us hear your question.’

[10:54] Allerd it>en: Luckily we live in the forest and we will never meet a black caste

[10:54] Crow (melchior.wardell): I agree – as a caste we came a long way !

[10:55] Anya smiles sweetly, “You all seem to be fond of disguises so would a caste member don a disguise to take a vacation from killing. Lead a ‘normal’ life for a while? If so is this against the rules? Would there be repercussions from such a decision?”

[10:55] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel) hears about the pass and clears my throat but nods*

[10:56] Obsidian (thom.podlum) chuckled at the question. ‘Without a doubt, there are times when we need a break. Like any overworked man. I can share that I have been known to have quiet spells. Spells when no one sees me for some time. Or at least, they are unaware of my presence.’

[10:57] Anya smirks, “Good to know but not know cause memory wipe.” nods nods

[10:58] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): leans to Skuld* do they even liked tobe tied up?

[10:58] Byron Greenwood: Anya, I can say that, personally, the only time I took a disguise when in training, leaning how to do such a thing. But, any Killer even when disguised, is still a Killer, in the caste’s eyes, since the only way out is by the sword.

[10:58] Forneus nods to Obsidian’s point and adds on. “I would also point out that if the player is sick of playing the Killer, there’s nothing preventing us from hoping unto an alt and playing out as a normal character in gor. I for example have a few alts that I swap over to when I’m a little overloaded from all the work that goes into playing the Killer. But, when I’m on the Killer, I’m here to provide a certain level and flavor of roleplay. So I wouldn’t personally go live a ‘normal life’ in disguise. There are always hints and clues in my rp of the character’s nature.

[10:58] Chronepsis: One thing to note, I think that “vacation from killing” is not the best way to put it. We’re independent contractors, it’s entirely up to our discretion what contracts we accept or don’t, so if we need a “vacation” we simply just don’t accept contracts until we’re in the mood for it again.

[10:59] Skuld Forkbeard (charly.snowfield) shake her head ” i am 100% sure they do like to be tied up” she chuckles

[10:59] Saffiyah (reaganjordan): bites her inner cheek pondering how to take a contract out on an ex, eying Thad a moment and sighs turning back to listen

[10:59] Obsidian (thom.podlum) nods to Chronopsis. ‘Well said, Killer.’

[10:59] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel) nods and makes a not ein her book*

[10:59] Conrad (achlysnightfire): I am playing under cover these days because the caste is outlawed in the Port, not because I am on vacation but I am still a killer and like Obs I give often hints to my true caste

[10:59] Anya nods, “Thank you.”

[11:00] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): he dose and it is awesome rp..

[11:00] αяѕυѕ (daimos.baarer): I would add here, if I need a vacation from killing, I just would not take a contract, but this is depends to the killer itself. Others my play in disguise, others would play on an alt, i would say.

[11:00] Anya adds, “Be careful giving hints around Anya.” laughs

[11:00] Crow (melchior.wardell): On the matter of disguise – we know we ask a lot from other players too. We ask them not to recognize us based on the meter or profile.

[11:00] Myrddin (drizantlar.veriander): I almost got the caste outlawed in genesian port.. I guess they didn’t appreciate me trying to recruit new born babies to the black caste.. specially of a particular warrior family…

[11:01] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): shakes head at M

[11:01] Obsidian (thom.podlum): Kicks M once again!

[11:01] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): Obs i ca give you something to knock him out if you wish

[11:02] Skuld Forkbeard (charly.snowfield): :” I will like to thank each of you for doing that for us today, that was very interesting and it was fun to know you ooc’ly like that”

[11:02] Obsidian (thom.podlum) laughs and said, ‘See me after, please. Lady.’

[11:02] Chronepsis glares at Myrddin, “Go back to Krypton.”

[11:02] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): it was so i thank you as well.. inlcines my head in respect to all of you*

[11:03] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): I will Obs

[11:03] Mira (miraea) raises her hand.

[11:03] Obsidian (thom.podlum) nods to Mira

[11:04] Mira (miraea): I see a lot of diverse fashion on stage, all a certain ahem common theme, but very different in terms of outfits, weapon choices, etc. What kind of thought goes into putting your outfit together and getting that particular look? I’m sure it’s different for each of you.

[11:05] Forneus raises a finger and says. “To tack unto the disguise point belatedly, I’d like to add, we are all typists, we are all human, and we all make mistakes. Sometimes we try something new while in disguise and then people take it the wrong way oocly. If that happens, just remeber we where trying to make things interesting, and one set of actions doesn’t necessarily define that particular typist, or the caste as a whole.”

[11:05] Myrddin (drizantlar.veriander) shrugs “its whatever my two slaves have cleaned and what I pulled out of the closet that morning.” he chuckles

[11:06] Conrad (achlysnightfire): To answer Mirae, personally I try to be as close as possible to the attire described in the books although there is not really much on the market

[11:07] Obsidian (thom.podlum) added on. ‘As for me, I like to consider the land of my birth and also the fact that I ride a tarn. So I need to protect my … inner thighs and other important goods. So, Obs will be in trousers much of the time.’

[11:07] Thaddeus Himura Dexing (dlmiksch): Very well said Forneus. That same mindset can apply across all of SL Gor and rp sims in general. The IC character does not necessarily represent the typist in RL.

[11:08] Obsidian (thom.podlum): Looked to Daffodil, recalling a certain tarn incident.

[11:08] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): no they do not…we need to remember to speperate ic and ooc

[11:08] Black Ost (daricmarano) grinned. “I have always said, I will wear black unless they created a darker shade…though black also is easier to hide clipping in fabrics…in the books the kilt was traditional, but again pants because…sitting in a kilt is asking for a flashing of the bits..”

[11:08] Crow (melchior.wardell) has some influences in my way of drssing – there is a lot of story to all the things I wear – find out in RP 😉

[11:08] Kelsier (galem.starship) shrugs at Mira’s question. “Well, I think most of us try first and foremost to stay close to the general spirit of the book. That is using weapons described as used by assassins -notably crossbows, mostly shortswords, shields and spears- and for the attire, we try an balance personal style with what market has to offer. Personally I often like to take inspiration from characters when I design mines and add a personal touch, but at the end of the day we’re not different than anyone else in this regard: we wear what we like and fits our role enough to be used, some more, some less.”

[11:09] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): grumbles* some men apparently think it is amusing to flash the free women

[11:09] Forneus says with a thin smile. “I’d like to add that I wear specific aspects of my avatar as a salute to my trainers. The necklace is akin to the sigil of my mentor. The ring on my hand was given to me when I passed the stand, the spear on my back was a gift from my mentor. The sword was forged during my training with my own hands. The habiliments are in line with the standards of the livery for the caste, and changes over time as I find new clothes I prefer more, but the ring, the necklace and the spear rarely change due to their symbolism to me.”

[11:10] Bethany Blakewell: You’ve looked amazing every time I see you, Kelsior… Impressive.

[11:10] Kelsier (galem.starship) “Ah well and of course it also comes down to the kind of character one is playing, how one envisions his habits or even fighting style. And of course the location. Personally I would not go in the Tahari dressed as I would be if I went in the North, for instance.”

[11:11] Conrad (achlysnightfire): of course, I agree with Kelsier, I also adaptto the region of Gor I am going to

[11:11] Obsidian (thom.podlum): ‘Agree, Killer. Much of the detail in my wardrobe holds deep meaning. The ring, in particular. It signifies much and is given to those who have earned it. And earning it is an accomplishment.’

[11:11] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): that reminds me.. i thought the caste stayed out of the north

[11:11] Myrddin (drizantlar.veriander) touches the ring on his finger and nods

[11:12] Kelsier (galem.starship): And thanks Bethany!

[11:12] Black Ost (daricmarano) nodded his head, moving his own ring upon his hand at the conversation.

[11:12] Conrad (achlysnightfire): the caste is typically in Central Gor but they can move to other regions for … work coughs

[11:12] Byron Greenwood: Basically, what the caste as a whole, as set down in the books, might wear and employ is pretty clear, we aren’t cookie-cutter Killers. Most of the Killers mentioned in the books are exceptions to the rules those books describe. So, in a way, so are we that stand here now.
[11:12] Obsidian (thom.podlum): ‘We generally operate in the South. Some will not venture North as our work is not respected by most there. however, some of us were born there and will take an occasional assignment there.’
[11:12] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): nods andmakes more noters to bug Conrad about IC later*

[11:12] Ayla (alexxa.despres) says, ” Good q , Toi. I was under the impressions that Northerners don’t welcome BC at all, as they think of them as dishonorable?

[11:13] Crow (melchior.wardell): I am proud to stand here with killers that have invested their time to learn a true craft – roleplaying a killer. I wish more castes would give that character development a try.

In the past there was a lot of grief, but I know that at these times many sims ask us to come and play due to the level of story and roleplay we can bring. It makes me humble but also very aware that we as a caste need to keep tabs on how to play our role so we can keep this reputation of this level.

We know that most know us as an end of a story – but know that there are a lot of opportunities that do not involve murder. And even when it does – that generates a hell of a lot of story too. So do not shy away. Feel free to hit me up with questions or suggestions.

[11:14] Kelsier (galem.starship) “Sometimes a work brings you north even if that wasn’t accounted for in the beginning. Contracts can be surprising, at times.”

[11:15] Black Ost (daricmarano) would grin. “Well said Crow, I agree we are all storytellers. Our caste may come with a finality, but well worth it for the sake of story.”

[11:16] Toi Armani Skolldir (babeangel): epic storyies

[11:16] Byron Greenwood: Aye, a mark fleeing to the North is not safe, for that mark WILL be pursued. Too, a Northman that was forced to flee the North, of left by choice, could take up the black. That’s happened before.

[11:17] Conrad (achlysnightfire): I want to thank you all and I would like to add something about my view of my job. Personally I am tired of drama caused by kills so I am ready to role play an attempt to kill or use dice, I am not interested in adding kills to my career but rather in role playing,

[11:17] Rᴇᴅ Rʏᴜ (red.bloodrose) brightens perceptibly as Scar talks of contracts in the North, a swift smile crossing her lips as she eyes him meditatively..

[11:17] Kelsier (galem.starship) nods to Crow’s words. “That is true, and something is often overlooked. Our Caste is not tied to just killing, there is a lot, and I man A LOT, of things we can do and we can get hired for. We’re a Caste that is very much tied to what others ask of us, but we can enhance rp in many ways and not just be there to cut someone’s throat.”

[11:19] Nono: Is there an event in this tent?
.
[11:19] Bethany Blakewell: Sadly I think it’s coming to an end, Nono. OOC Q&A w/ Black Caste

[11:19] Nono (nono2613amidala.citron): oh 😦

[11:20] Obsidian (thom.podlum): Turns to the Killers. ‘Any other remarks before I close it out?’

[11:20] Forneus (mrwhisker): I would like say. We are grateful you took the time to come visit and ask your questions, please feel free to roleplay with us in the future. The training is a really intense experience and helps us to become better rper’s, we just want to provide, and receive really good roleplay for the players around us, so please, don’t be scared of us oocly. ICly we welcome the fear, but standing on a sim where everyone avoids us does make it hard for us to contribute to your stories in meaningfull ways.

[11:21] Ira-Tira (justalowlykajira): Excellent Q& A, thank you all so much!

[11:21] Obsidian (thom.podlum) looked to the others and paused briefly.

[11:21] Taslin (sadiqueviiix): Was very eye opening, thank you all for sharing your insights!

[11:22] Nono: Oh, there are so many of them ….

[11:22] Ella De Wren Bade (elladewren) taps ANya, ”Covers your ears, he gonna do that mind wipe”

[11:22] Chronepsis: One thing I will say, several of us became assassins during what would be considered the glory days of SL Gor, about 10+ years ago when there were dozens of diverse cities all with traffic in the 20ks. Unfortunately, also during that time, our caste was among the most drama-filled, and this was the result of problems on both sides. For example, many warriors were intent on being the heroes and stopping our work, and metagamed to achieve that. On our side, internally we were plagued with elitists who insisted on particular standards to be members, and other such things. The infamous “list” issue comes to mind. A lot of that seems to have worked itself out on both sides, and we enjoy being a part of the roleplay, and we ask that everyone also treat us with the same OOC and IC considerations as any other role, and we look forward to continuing to be a part of your society.

[11:22] Nono: She will discreetly retain everyone’s face, in case someone comes to kill their master

[11:23] Obsidian (thom.podlum) shouts: ‘Ladies, Gents, and beasts. Before you are a representation of the men in black from across the lands of Gor. We have each appreciated your time and your interest. If any among you wish to consider this path, feel free to approach any of us in character. We thank you for your participation today. And with that, please enjoy the rest of the fair and …. always be on the lookout for men in black.’

A seeker ?

[12:26] Crow (melchior.wardell) was to start his daily walk when he noted a familiar figure. Yet something was off. Crow couldn’t quite tell what it was. He tried to see what had been different than the previous encounter. But he was not yet sure. As the man was given time to consider he would simply pass him by. Surely if he needed him he could give a signal or word.

[12:27] Axel (legend.blakewell) sorta stepped outside his house and her turned back to look and there was Crow walking down the alley way with Haru, She turned to look at his door and in his mind. “Aww.. fuck.” He muttered and smiled only to pull out the binding and cover his eyes since whelp they were standing there anyway! “Tal Crow.” He’d grunted as he had long kept it a secret from anyone around the port, He would now have to think of moving at some point.

[12:29] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) trailed after her master, the little ghost noting Axel there and flashing the man a smile as she was prone to do. She kept behind her owner, not just for the leash that pulled her along but because it was where she belonged, enjoying the stretch of the cuffs that were locked around her form as her muscles shifted beneath them. When he moved, she moved, and when he stopped, she stopped – head canting as she noted the whole blindfold thing.

[12:33] Crow (melchior.wardell) would move back when he was addressed. A quick glance over his shoulder made him understand that the man had started his wait. The blindfold an indication he had made his choice. A choice that he instantly might regret since within a blink of an eye, Crow would take a good swing at the man – aiming for his jaw. Not that Crow was a violent man – but when it came to training – these encounters would be memorized because they instantly taught the new lad a thing about awareness, endurance, cause and test the mans ability to deal with things that were hardly fair or reasonable. Crow would use considerable force – not to have the man unconscious but a sore jaw if he was able to hit him. “To you … I am no Crow – yet, maggot.” he stated. His voice held no anger or anything that might indicate trouble.

[12:33] zCS Melchior Wardell rolled 65 (100).

[12:33] zCS Legend Blakewell rolled 42 (100).

[12:36] Axel (legend.blakewell) as soon as he did it he could barely see honestly he felt blind as in the name, He would re-sight to himself that his house was no longer unknown and to take that in mind in the future. He was normally very careful and one slip could cost his own life which he would keep thinking deep in the back of his own mind having noted Haru flash of a smile before he did so. Had easily felt the connection of his fist to his jaw as he was blid and he took the hit with some extreme pain, His jaw popped and he moved back in silence having made that mistake. “Yes Killer” He fixed and would be feeling that much later, He was rubbing his jaw a bit but not much as it had left a red marking.

[12:38] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) barely even batted an eye as her master took a swing. She had seen it all before with other lads and this was a good start, at least in her opinion. So she simply moves, adjusting her position to give her master the maximum range of movement, falling silent in his shadow as her face fell blank. Unfeeling? Perhaps – or perhaps just masked; it was hard to tell with the little Pani doll.

[12:42] Crow (melchior.wardell) would watch how the blow would land and how quick the man was to correct his mistake. He had looked about himself, seeing only the man in the alley but far enough to truly hear what was discussed. “Seems we have found ourselves a seeker, mine.” he stated towards his girl “A maggot that wants to make it in our ranks. Let us see what this man can learn from being blindfolded.” he suggested his slave too would consider the task he would give the lad. “I want you blindfolded and you are not permitted to take the blindfold off, unless you have obtained four objects. These objects you have to acquire on your own. You can not ask others to obtain it.” he stated. “The first object is an easy one. It is a bar of soap from the bathing house within this city. ” he started. “Now … pay attention, we will not relay these tasks more than once.” he would look at his girl to see if she might have a good suggestion as to what the man should obtain blindfolded. Surely these objects would have him go all through the port.

[12:44] Axel (legend.blakewell) wasn’t willing or wanting to say that openly but he figured no one came up within the time span that he said it and quietly, He would have to figure out whatever was permitted but Sir he might have said instead. He was not starting his day off too well as it would be a learning process, He had never actually dealt with killers though at least not underneath them. He was merely listening to what the man was saying otherwise, When the man spoke of objects he shifted his eyebrows. “Yes Killer.” He’d say it low still and his ears would pay attention more then before since he could hear better with barely any visible eyesight. He could only assume the objects that are asked ot get would be more difficult but to start was easy enough.

[12:46] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) nods her head a little, listening. “A muffin from the baker, My Master?” she asks. Haru knew the tasks well and hadn’t forgotten her own role in it all and what she had done in their previous home. She gives him a sly little grin, knowing full well what effect she could have on that task. The seeker would need to be resourceful. “Perhaps a game piece from the gambling den?” She wanted to be helpful, no doubting that.

[12:55] Crow (melchior.wardell) would nod slow towards the suggestions of Haru. He noted the lad already adapting to the fact he only had his hearing and would focus upon what was said. Something that showed perhaps promise when it came to the understanding of this task. “So besides the soap from the bathhouse, you will also obtain a muffin from the stall near the docks.” the stall was near the water and the importance to use the senses of touch would be tested there. Surely if the man did not want to drown or be eaten by the predators that lurked in these dangerous waters. “Than I want you to find the infirmary. Seek a physician that can tell you about a toxin that is known to have others speak of truth. I want you to memorize that conversation so you can relay what was said and if there is indeed such a toxin.” he pondered on the piece of the gambling den but considered that one as to easy. “I want you also to find a man that will draw his steel, only to draw blood upon your upper arm.” of course it would test how he would go about this one. Would he simply ask ? Or try to lure someone in doing such ? “Now pay attention. There are some rules. You may not let others guide you to where you need to go. You may not speak about being blind or tested. Nor speak of the wait – is this clear ?” he finally asked.

[12:59] Axel (legend.blakewell) continued to listen as for no one that could help him obtain the objects and he would have to use some form of a stick to get around as it would be his first thought, He didn’t wish to end up falling into a canal. Soap, muffin, and He was mentally noting them and would start as soon as they walked off again he would first go up to a tree if he found one and snap the limb off to navigate his surroundings.

[12:59] Axel (legend.blakewell): task and that one in a port of pirates, He would have to be technical with that one. “Yes Killer.” He would be some what silent when he said it as he knew better already when the task her given he’d grin. “If that is all i will be on my way.” He wasn’t going to waste time honestly he would start his task right away.

[13:02] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would tilt her head as her master accepted the muffin but rejected the game piece, making a small mental note on what the others were. Interesting, for sure. Nodding her head, she confirms that she had taken the information in, knowing full well that she was going to be speaking to the lady baker. Things to do, people to see, or was it the other way around? Already her mind was ticking over the future steps; her favourite activity that really let her other side come out – but also tested the new girls. Ayame….. She smirks a little, slipping closer to her master, an arm snaking around his thigh. “He knows the rules of no girls and no drink, yes?”

[13:06] Crow (melchior.wardell) noted him eager and although his voice remained void of any emotion he would grin. The lad seemed to be quick and eager, but was it not best to be careful and calculated ? In due time the lad would get the hang of it or die in that same ignorance. “During the wait and during your training there are some ground rules. I am sure these were already conveyed but let me be sure. You are not allowed the use of slaves, alcohol or weapons. If you are seen doing any of those or without your blindfold you will face dire consequences.” he stated not yet letting the lad go about “When you are done … it is up to you to find the court – there you will find me blindfolded. Only than I will allow you to take it off and present me the things I have required of you.” he looked at Haru to see if he might have forgotten anything.

[13:09] Axel (legend.blakewell) heard Haru once more and he did not indeed forget, He had mental noted many things. “I remember.” He would repeat and he kept grinning as he was more then excited, He had his spare time with the past and cut loose all of his ties. This was the last and final thing he did before he prepared himself to start, It was a task in a whole and to move on without issue.

[13:09] Axel (legend.blakewell): carefully did his task.

[13:13] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) noted the look and her head would dip. That was all she could think of, the rules. She arches a brow with a slight tilt to question if he would explain the role of the girls in this all or leave that for the seeker to figure out. Eyes and ears, of course, as always. Fingers toying with the cuffs on her wrists, she looks to Axel again, studying him. That would certainly make things even more interesting. But Haru was in a mood as it were simply for the cuffs herself, looking at her master through her dark lashes, knowing he was intending to train her as well though she had far less knowledge about what to expect there than she might with the potential lad.

[13:15] Crow (melchior.wardell) grinned but would not bind the lad, perhaps in other tasks he would limit the man in his movements by binding him. But for now he would nod and wink towards Haru, sure that the man would not see this small interaction between them. “Seems all was relayed, maggot. I would say – go about and let us see how quick you are able to find us again.” he would not wish him luck. Luck had nothing to do with it – but skill / talent / creativity.

[13:18] Axel (legend.blakewell) would remember the sound in which the cuffs gave off, He nodded hearing it and indeed he had no idea what they were actually doing but he felt as a gut feeling they would make his task difficult on purpose. He moved out and the first thing he did right before their eyes was use the left side to move and head forward until he grasped the tree limbs over the bridge having reached up to snatch it and make a cracking noise in which it was long enough to use to navigate around. He wouldn’t bother talking much as he moved off and knew the port well as the bath house he often visited right around the corner knocking the stick in anything he might stumble across.

[13:19] Crow (melchior.wardell) would watch him go and unleash his girl “See that you inform the girls about this and make it difficult.”

[13:21] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would nod her head, though blinks as he unleashes her – tilting her head again. “Of course, My Master,” she says in her soft tones. “The girls will be informed.” She curls her lips up in a soft smile though doesn’t release his thigh just yet. “I will request the Mistress Baker to stop making muffins in the interim, like I did in Lost City, that the master will need to be more creative in acquiring one.” She grins a little, tracing her fingers over his pants a moment, teasing some.

[13:23] Crow (melchior.wardell) would feel the touch and turn to face her again as he had followed the lad with his gaze “Hmm… I would like to see that you can make him get to the houses upon those poles. See that you can lure him to a spot in which he needs to get back to the docks.” he teases. “See if I can test your resolve in all of this.”

[13:28] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would tilt her head a little, tracking the man leaving and moving as her master turns. “That should not be too difficult, Master,” she says. “Though if he is resolved to not be guided, it could be a challenge.” She wrinkles her nose, knowing he was setting a challenge for her and she would need to figure out how to do that. She was going to be separated from her master then…. her fingers trail over the cloth of his tunic as she withdraws her hands.

[13:29] Crow (melchior.wardell) would smack her ass as she moved past him. It was a playful one as she would move. For some reason he was not sure who would be the bigger challenge. The lad was eager – too eager almost to start. “Those that burn fast and fierce – are often those that dim the quickest.” he stated cryptic.

[13:31] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would look over her shoulders at the smack and throw a wink to her master. “I will only dim if my Natsu disappears.” She was simply that kind of girl and would do anything to make him happy. And then she was off to find the new one. Maggot…

The Messengers of the Port

Posted in Black Caste, In the dark of Port Kar with tags , on February 3, 2024 by crow1971

[11:04] Ashiya of TyrosAshiya of Tyros continued on with her dance, with her song, stomping her feet and clapping her hands at certain points to emphasize the rhythm. She felt that the dance was suiting, swaying like the waves of the sea at time, and her hips rocking closely to the sound of wood creaking that could be heard as its own music even on anchored vessels. Not an anthem for Port Kar, but enough that it suited the city. Still, it was only a moment, before her eyes cut through the crowd to take note of one in the distance, and those who passed by, those who stoped, those who did not. The white coat was enough to identify the man and a subtle dip of her head was given as the song came to an end. She looked back at him and waited for the crowd to disperse finally. And that was when she finally stopped, catching her breath, and calming down from her euphoria. How easily she coudl get lost in a melody…

[11:06] 蘆屋道満 Asʜɪʏᴀ Dᴏᴍᴀɴ 蘆屋道満 (azariel.blackheart): ((*black coat… The lighting made it look white..))

[11:08] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa)Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would follow along behind her master, dark hues flickering over the small crowd gathered. She knew who they were looking for but she kept her face passive and calm, making note of who all was present and who departed just as quickly. She didn’t speak but would dip her head in a non-verbal greet to anyone that might look to her, the leash putting her in protocol as it always did.

[11:11] Darius Valgard (dyce.boucher)Darius Valgard (dyce.boucher) continued to observe the Magician-Thief dance and sing her dooming melody. It caused his head to tilt somewhat to the side, his stare fixed. As the light of the day glinted off of the droplets of gold fixed in his brow and the rings adorning his nostrils and ears, there were a few people who were dispersed and passed him by, greeting him. One asked a simple question about tariffs and he informed the individual to wait until the next council meeting for that information to be solidified. The Consortium’s master ledger was still held at his side and his greatsword that he often used as a cane was uplifted, resting against the leather coats donning his shoulders. He turned his eyes back to Ashiya, seeing her still looking at him. He inclined his head to her then, an unspoken conversation taking place as he watched her catch her breath, her chest heaving, her lips parted ajar. He had noted well the stockings adorning her upper thighs and flanks beneath her dress when she had moved, the golden bangles of her arms, and more. Very little escaped the Praetor’s scrutiny. A movement out of his peripheral vision caused his eyes to slide from Ashiya once again, a man and his slave whom he had seen in passing the past few weeks arriving, perhaps passing through.

[11:19] Ashiya of TyrosAshiya of Tyros took only a moment or two, before she took note of where the Praetor’s gaze had moved, and soon after her own followed. There she would look and behold Haru, and the man to whom she was leashed. She did recognize Crow, but she wouldn’t make a show of knowing who or what he was. She knew far better than that. Still, she would incline her head toward them both, in their general direction. It was almost a shallow bow, but not quite. though she did verbally greet one whom she did have business, “Lord Praetor…” She had caught her breath enough to speak normally at least.

[11:27] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa)Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would remain by her master’s side. The praetor was noted, the title that Ashiya gave him but she had done her little nonverbal greets and that was as far as it would go for now. Her master was in charge and she was his shadow; acting his eyes and ears while he went into thought Things were peaceful that day. Finally. A small moment of respite though she had reported to him what she had been told. Concerning and an indication that things might not remain silent.

[11:29] Crow (melchior.wardell)Crow (melchior.wardell) observed the scene in silence. Whatever was happening he didn’t want to make assumptions that were not true. So when he noted the woman dance and the other man observing he stood there in silence. Perhaps some would consider it this dark moment in which a life would pass by. The mere suggestion a killer was this close could instill some fear. When he was acknowledged by the mere gesture of a head he inclined his head too. His high caste upbringing and the sophisticated ways of Ar always kept lingering about this old killer.

[11:32] Darius Valgard (dyce.boucher)Darius Valgard (dyce.boucher) lifted his bronze prosthetic from the stone and pivoted back partially, the metal foot clacking audibly as it connected with the stones again. He looked into the council chamber and curled his lower lip against his upper teeth and let out a sharp whistle, causing one of the council page boys to come running out. He handed the heavy book to the young slave lad to return it to its pedestal within the council chamber before he pivoted back towards the direction of Ashiya’s voice. He lifted his free hand, gloved and adorned with expensive rings, and beckoned Ashiya towards him when she called out his title. Finally, he had time to attend her since she expressed desire to speak since yesterday. Unfortunately, dire circumstances had drawn him away and his day had been spent in meetings, but he was now available. “Ashiya of Tyros,” he responded to her words, his own voice – laced with the snobby accent of high caste Physicians – called out to her. Darius did not recognize Crow nor Haru except from glancing at them now and then when he’d spotted them on the streets. “Shall we continue our conversation?” he inquired of her, curious if she would follow him as he took a few steps forward, lowering his greatsword’s tip to the ground to support his hobbling gait. The Praetor was utterly ignorant of Crow’s identity and caste, though he had his suspicions due to the presence of the crossbow with the black robes absent any other colorful ornaments. Darius would not linger overlong, despite his authority. Perhaps this man was one of the Assassins, ready to fire a crossbow through some hated Captain like the raping ram of a ship as it plows through an enemy vessel!

[11:38] Ashiya of TyrosAshiya of Tyros nodded to him. “We should… There are things you should be aware of…” She did want to speak with him in his more official title, rather than as a potential member of his crew and company. There was a moment where she did pause as he started walking, though ready to follow, she took a look back to Crow and Haru, mainly for any particular hint that there was other business to discuss as well. She did remember what she had told to Haru, but she also was not expecting Crow to appear before her himself, and assumed he was out on other business, but she would be a fool not to be aware that she could potentially be his business. She was not so blind to that fact given the events of the last few days.

[11:39] Crow (melchior.wardell)Crow (melchior.wardell) stood still. In a way that he could be a statue and yet – he was ready to address anything that might be thrown his way. His movements were silent as if he had been taught by iron discipline to remain in the shadows and go unnoticed. Yet here he was in plain daylight. Not in fear to show anyone who he was. Not out of bravado but out of that rock-solid self-confidence. He knew that this was the woman that had given his slave the grave news. It had angered him and yet none could have said so. His emotions still part of his life were well confined in himself. At rare occasions he would profess his love to his slave but other than that his social life was cold and heartless. As she spoke of leaving with the Praetor he spoke “It seems you are quite the messenger, lady.” he left it at that … Surely that sentence alone should give everyone of them a shiver.

[11:43] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa)Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would look between the pair. The praetor, unknown to her, and Ashiya – more than familiar. She didn’t speak, instead simply curling her fingers around the leash that held her attached to her master, letting herself feel it tense a moment as she ran the chain through her fingers. She loved the feeling of the cold steel. The bondage it presented. Her gaze would move directly to Ashiya at her owner’s comment, drinking her in. If it wasn’t known if she had reported to her master what she had told her, it was now.

[11:46] Darius Valgard (dyce.boucher)Darius Valgard (dyce.boucher) was about to move off until Crow spoke up. That, along with Ashiya’s words of him needing to be aware of some things, gave him pause. His body went rigid and his soothing-yet-snobby tone became one of dire seriousness. “If you have business of the Consortium, and wish to speak to the Praetor instead of the Captain, then perhaps here is the best place.” He did not wish to conceal legal matters from the public, and his personal business could always wait. So, he turned to face Ashiya, as well as both Crow and Haru. His scarred face fell slack from its previous smiles and he adopted a professional stance. His eyes lingered past Ashiya and onto Crow a moment, his words still ringing in his ears. Trouble seemed afoot, or so he presumed. He finally cleared his throat and announced himself, so others would know him, “Captain Darius Valgard of the Deadsail Company, one of four Wharf Praetors who make up the Port Consortium.” He then leaned some upon the greatsword’s crossguard, relieving pressure from his stump fitted in the prosthetic.

[11:56] Ashiya of TyrosAshiya of Tyros nearly flinched at the way Crow worded that phrase. Was she expecting to hear that? No. Though that was the confirmation she needed, but how disadvantageous the timing of his approach. She did not know what exactly to make of that particular stance, the man was impossible to read. She had one foot backward just a bit, barely seen beyond the hem of her dress as though she was ready to run should the moment call for it. However, she was looking at Crow, the forehead in particular, the mark of the Dagger. That would have told her far more than words ever could, “I am…when the moment calls for me to be so…” Her confidence in her own abilities was not shaken by the idea of the why they were there, but more so in her ability to get away from a man trained in preventing people from getting away… The Lady-Thief was not a fool to think her chances against such men were set in stone. Had he been anyone but who he was, that would have been a different story.

She didn’t dare take her eyes off of Crow, despite distance between them, she didn’t want to miss the action of him reaching for that crossbow. It would be the only moment she had to evade it should she need. “it is regarding an attack on my person in the baths three suns passed.” It has been at least three days since that attack to say the least, and yet, the business that she had to discuss, ironically dealt with the same man.. both the business between herself and Crow, and the report she was ready to make. However, now she was not certain that this was a moment that was fortuitous enough to discuss matters simultaneously, given the nature of the two men whom she now stood between. Though she coudl see Haru, she was not going to focus on her. The only slave-girl she may have called a friend in different circumstances, and yet.. there would be no insight to be gained from her on this matter. Ashiya had to rely on her own wit at this juncture.

[11:59] Crow (melchior.wardell)Crow (melchior.wardell) would stand in the same spot while his eyes would move from one to the other. His eyes saw much more than just what was on the outside. He had learned that someone’s small movements could tell a lot: A lie or the truth. It was a wisdom he had acquired over many years. Not only in his life as a murderer, but also in the many disguises he used. When the man introduced himself, there was nothing new. Crow had already absorbed more information than many might have known. Still, he bowed slightly without losing sight of the man. “We finally meet, Captain Darius Valgard of the Deadsail Company.” his voice did not held the sarcasm of the many titles when Crow spoke “Crow, Undertaker of the Port.” he introduced himself without the rank he had reached over years. Surely who he was mattered little. It was what he could do in a matter of seconds if he wished. He turned to the woman and she too did not tell things that had not been known to him. He could tell the moment of doubt, the reflection on what could happen. Perhaps some killers would enjoy the mere idea to instill fear yet Crow held little fondness for it. “Ah … ” he replied to her words and did not say much more. He held all the cards before him – making it unable to predict what he was about.

[12:03] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa)Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) was cool, calm and collected. A veritable cucumber of a doll. Chill as the porcelain her flesh represented and stoic in her emotional representation. Sure, there was the usual friendly appearance of her face, the one thing that should it ever fall, woe be to the slave that might have caused such – but she made no further indications outside of her silent, unspoken greets. Her hands were folded before her in that usual demure fashion. Left over right, sharpened and strengthened nails, thanks to Ming’s genetic manipulations, hovering just over her core. There was no need for her to speak. Not in that moment. So she left that to the free.

[12:09] Darius Valgard (dyce.boucher)Darius Valgard (dyce.boucher) slid his gaze to Ashiya as she kept her back to himself while she stared focused upon Crow. This was interesting, especially since she still spoke to himself about her legal issues. When Crow offered his introduction, his eyes turned back to the man and that made much sense to him now, given his attire and behavior. “Ah,” he said as he visibly relaxed some. Why? Because there was no dagger painted on the man’s brow. That didn’t mean murder was out of the question, but Darius saw Crow now as an instrument, a tool, to be paid for on behalf of the Consortium. “I now place a face to the rumored ghost of the Undertaker. I suspect that certain coin might flow from the Consortium to your belted pockets in the coming weeks, Killer.” He called the man by the respected title of his caste, making it known that he wasn’t above employing Assassins on behalf of the city’s administration. He glanced idly upon Haru, seeing her demure folding of hands, his fingers caressing the crossguard of his sword-cane as he observed her. “Obedient,” he remarked. Then, finally, he turned his attention to Ashiya and spoke to the back of her head, “Do you wish to press a case of the matter regarding your assault to the Praetors, Ashiya of Tyros? Do you have witnesses who can testify?” In his capacity of Praetor, Darius was fair across the board, showing zero favoritism to any cursed soul.

[12:26] Aiko Akasuki Laukness (elsamarieanna)Aiko Akasuki Laukness (elsamarieanna) wondering around the port trying to get to know what is were her eyes looking towards the Master and also the Mistress not saying a word for now her hands move to her side

[12:29] That question was the question that answered all her previous question. Witnesses who can testify. For her it wasnt’ a matter of whetehr they were capable of testifying.. it was a matter of if they would… and the answer was clear to her at that point. Though, the idea that the Consortium would employ the Killers only made her relax just a bit more.. but not by much. There was still the matter that she knew things about the Killers that she likely should not have. That alone made her a loose end in some killers’ minds. However, to them both, she would simply say.. “No… no witnesses who will testify.” The only witnesses had been killers and slaves.. and that could work against her as well as for her. She wasn’t going to take the risk.

[12:29] Ashiya of TyrosAshiya of Tyros Ashiya looked to Crow, almost as if she was confirming that she wasn’t going to speak on what she saw or heard inside the court, but the business of the one in question was still a matter on the table. At that point did she dare a step back and look to Darius so that he wasn’t staring at the back of her head, but she did want to keep both men in her line of sight somewhat. “If witnesses are a requirement for such a matter, then I suppose that falls short as it is.” She knew a man like the one in question could nto keep quiet. She had learned that much herself, and how easily she could get a rise out of him. Perhaps that would be useful later.

Turning back to Crow, she asked, “Was there a message you wished me to deliver? Or did you have business with me, Lord Undertaker?” She used the title he used himself. She wasn’t going ot take a chance this time. Subtle messages were being sent btween the group of them, and even in a situation like this, her mind was still moving with the many possibilities of a multitude of outcomes. She would make a point to set her priorities. She still needed work… something that offered coin and a measure of protections that she didn’t quite have. Her vendetta could wait.

[12:33] Crow (melchior.wardell)Crow (melchior.wardell) noted the short reply before the longer sentence addressed to him. Strange as the man spoke of his face. Crow was a master of disguise and with it held a certain art in it to have it appear from this to a warm censor of Ar or a jovial Innkeeper. Crow could adapt to almost any situation, although he too was tested in his resolve. Only a day ago when he nearly killed a so called killer in his court. When the man spoke of coin he inclined his head again. Crow was not a greedy bastard as most of his caste brothers, but held a certain degree of honor and respect to their status within the city. He felt himself a razor sharp tool for those instances when law was no longer a possibility. Surely he would not discuss business, but with the small gesture he made it known to being open for any conversation as to what was needed from him or his caste. When the man spoke of his slave he would give her a quick look. She was far more than obedient and yet she reflected the one thing he wanted from her in this very moment. As Ashiya spoke he learned a lot by what kind of woman she was and could be. “The matter of the man that poses as one of my caste, is it ?” he asks – for this instance he would allow her to see one of the cards in his deck. “I am sure the Praetor might have a desire to know that there is a man posing in the desire to become what … The next Pa Kur.” there – he said it. Now watching how the news would fall upon those ears. Surely the man would have been dead and perhaps dropped in the thieves den if he hadn’t run from the court with his tails between his legs.

[12:37] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa)Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) as picking up the small nuances between them though to the naive she seemed oblivious, her gaze instead wandering to the shift of leaves and people passing. Aiko she could not see. Not from where she stood; the girl hidden behind the large tree and on the other side. Blinded by the large and clearly ancient plant. She was quiet, always keeping her master in her peripheral, that slight tension in the leash that she could see and feel him should any signals be offered. Orders to follow or commands. Obedient she was in all manner of things though at the appropriate times not afraid to speak her mind to her master if she felt there was a concern that should be approached. For now, though, there were none and her Pani-Karian tones remained silent.

[12:47] Darius Valgard (dyce.boucher)Darius Valgard (dyce.boucher) gave a nod of his head to Ashiya and informed her, “You will require witnesses to support your defense, or some other overwhelming evidence. If the witnesses are slaves, then they may be tortured for their legal testimony. Otherwise, it’s just your word against another’s, and there’s nothing that the Consortium can do.” He turned his eyes back to Crow as he mentioned about someone posing an Assassin and trying to be the next Pa-Kur. “Can you give a full account of your meaning, Killer? With something so vast and grave, it should be brought before the Council of Captains. The Consortium handles justice and the port’s public facilities and utilities only. All legislative and executive decisions rest in the hands of the Council.”

[12:48] Aiko Akasuki Laukness (elsamarieanna)Aiko Akasuki Laukness (elsamarieanna) as she had just arrived not to sure what was going on not being able to see crow or haru as the big old tree was in the way .She would stand there hands still by her side not saying a word still as she would listen to what was being said around her .

[12:53] Ashiya of TyrosAshiya of Tyros felt the pathways of that one moment fall away, like the intricate patterns of a butterfly’s wings, now illuminated through the speaking of a single phrase, a decision made and now a path forward presented, until the next crossroads where a decision of her own would need be taken. “I see.” She looked back at the Praetor, Captain Darius Valguard of the Dead company, and now she nodded, decisively. “Then perhaps we should all take a walk that we may discuss this in more detail.” She told them both. She had no issues to speak to them on what she knew, what she had experienced, now that Crow made it okay for her to do so, but given what he said, the specific subject would be the only thing she would speak on, less the man made it okay to speak further, however, that was highly unlikely. The Caste guarded their secrets with extreme prejudice. She would not be the one that met a blade for not minding her tongue if she could help it.

Spotting movement to the side, she did recognize the Slave from the court, bu
Ashiya of Tyros only in a passing glance. She was aware of her, but did not greet her, let alone betray any hint that she’d seen her openly. She looked between the three of them, waiting for Crow or Darius to agree to speak elsewhere. The open streets wer efar too busy fo her liking to discuss matters of such import. The voice of a man speaking in greeting neary was proof enough of this fact. An inclination of her head was given in his direction but no words flowed in greeting given the severity of the subject matter.

[12:54] Crow (melchior.wardell)Crow (melchior.wardell) had now realized that they had been noticed and that some were even standing still. He wanted to resolve some issues quietly and unnoticed. Yet here he spoke of something grave and yet he doubted the man would truly succeed. The man had hardly kept himself professional enough to pose a threat to any man of the port. When Darius spoke of legal matters a brow arched in surprise. Was he truly serious ? Did he truly believe that the consortium would be presented by all facts? Crow would only now move his hand and made a dismissive gesture. “There is a time and place for such conversations, indeed.” he would move his hand again as in taking their lead if they wished to discuss these matters in a more private setting.

[13:00] Haru (cecilia.ushimawa)Haru (cecilia.ushimawa) would take in Darius’ face; the way he stood and held himself and how he spoke. She would be able to recognise him from a distance though this was more out of habit than out of any nefarious meaning. Seeing Elirk, she would dip her head to the man but would not speak. She was silent. Listening and observing.

[13:01] Darius Valgard (dyce.boucher)Darius Valgard (dyce.boucher) canted his head as Crow dismissed his question after just blurting out that there was someone with designs on being the next Pa-Kur. The sudden desire for secrecy with such matters once they were already penny-dropped in public made the Praetor’s left eye twitch slightly. He was already involved in secrets most dire, and there seemed to be more piled on. He moistened his lips a moment, glancing about at others who arrived. A man – Elirk – greeted the group, and Darius gave a ringing clanging tap of his greatsword against the cobblestones in return to the greeting. He then turned to the others, Ashiya and Crow, as well as Haru, and he grunted some. “Very well…. but, I shall not be drawn to the shadows.” (I got RL folks, gonna have to pause my participation – ugh)

[13:05] Ashiya of TyrosAshiya of Tyros took note of what Darius spoke of and then nodded to him, then back to Crow. When Darius seemed to be dragged away toward his ship (assuming such), Ashiya would follow. That was as secure a place as any to speak on this and she’d just use this as a chance to relay all if needed be. To Crow she simply nodded to him, “This way if you would, my Lord.” Some part of her heritage she just couldn’t get out of her… (Gogin to move when you’re ready.)

Confrontations

[10:29] Hinder closed her eyes an breathed in deeply as she felt his touch on her bare flesh. She relished that moment but stood with his assistance and only then exhaled. Now stood before him and she saw the leash, her chin lifted just enough but quickly she tucked it down as he spoke of the palace. She felt sick and he’s see the sheer panic on her face but a ” Yes, my Master..” followed.

[10:30] Crow would turn before he left the house “Understand that nothing is yours not even fault or guilt.” with that consolidation he would open the door and lead her with him.
[10:31] Crow would point left “Heel.”

[10:35] Sleen opened his mouth to respond to the girl but there it was, before him, a sight you just don’t see every other day. He lifted his left hand and whispered to Kara. “Dismissed, beauty”. His eyes focused ahead with a mix of relief as he exhaled knowing that his hour, too, would come soon. He could recognize Serena anywhere in the world even if he had never seen her naked before. “Tal, Killer”, he said with a dipping of chin. “Girl…”, he winked at his slave.

[10:39] Crow did not want to intervene and patiently waited. As he was addressed he would step forward. If his slave would comply there would not be a yank to the leash. If she paused or resisted she would feel the yank to her neck strong enough. “Greetings, killer.” he offered – his voice no where near the sound of the Old Melchior – but the killer he had become so many years ago. “I hope the missive to the Ubar was received and part of your conversation with him?”he asked. He would now snap his fingers and point to his side – in a way Sleen would see her fully. Of course all was test – even this very moment. The slave under strict regime.

[10:40] Kara bows deferentially, and hobbles away with her fruit basket in her arms. She turns to see who’s coming and… and steps aside even faster, forgetting to wave, panic-stricken and frightened. She recognizes them. She recognizes her. She doesn’t understand a thing! Kara shakes violently and literally, limps off towards the Garden.

[10:41] Hinder carried his wise words with her. She knew this day would come and she’s kept up with him until they reached the entrance of the palace. He’d feel the resistance on the leash that connected her to him but she was no match and it was be led or choked on the way. She wanted and needed to hide behind him as Sleen came into view. Shield her naked body from the man barely peering over Crow’s shoulder when he greeted them both ” Sl..” She stopped herself in time because he’s told her to keep her mouth shut at all costs. It was the snap of Crows fingers that dragged her from her concealment and gingerly she stepped to his side and fumbled with her suddenly clammy hands.

[10:44] Lyra Sophitia Aurelia entered, holding the hand of a young toddler boy while carrying a newborn in a baby sling. “Tal.” she greeted warmly. The boy seemed to recognize his parents, though. Not knowing the entire situation herself, she gently tightened her grip on his hand. “Shhhh….” she gently hushed him. “That man sitting down is very important. We must show respect.” said she in a low, insructive, and undeniably maternal tone.

[10:45] Sleen glanced towards Lyra and noticed that she had the children. So it did have happened. “I haven’t seen Marlenus in a couple days as I’ve been arranging things for impending travel. I had a mind of sending you missive but I’m afraid it got lost in delivery”. He had sent it to the wrong address, clearly. “Good morning, Lady Lyra”.

[10:49] Crow would glance over his shoulder. A dark and grim look – clearly detached from the child she was holding. “Greetings.” he offered in kind and turned back to Sleen – as if there was no sense of emotion to the scene that was not developing. “Mine, kneel. Tower..” he commanded “You ,may greet.” he allowed her. The scene was tense to her – of this he was certain. He observed with a keen eye any development. “What kind of missive?” he asked curious “Or is it more for private quarters.”

[10:53] Sleen stated plainly as they weren’t in mixed company. “I was curious if you’d take former position regarding territory and be interested in establishing a Court. I’m going to travel for at least a year unless something happens in my mission that makes it less complicated. For that reason the Frumentarii is to be dissolved but it would be an unfortunate thing to not give opportunity of continued business to the many of us who stepped up”.

[10:53] Hinder wanted to look back as Lyra greeted but didn’t not because she didn’t dare. What she was met with would break her heart, all see was aware of was that the children had been of were being shipped to Venna. she was taken over with commands,. kneel, greet… It was a roar of instructions that didn’t compute for a moment. She was a block of tension and sheer panic in this situation and she knew he’d know it. Unceremoniously she got to her knees in panicked silence. ” Greeting … Master..:” was pushed out while trying not to make eye contact with Sleen..” Mistress.” was added after a quick mental battle with herself.

[10:59] Lyra Sophitia Aurelia thought the standing man in the black of Assassins seemed familiar, but when his face briefly turned to her, she decided she didn’t recognize it. But, she recognized Serena straightaway. She part of her didn’t want to get dominant with her, but she knew she had to now. “Tal… slave.” said she. This one hit close to home for her. Part of her wanted to be angry with her for becoming a slave. The conflict was subtle in her bespectacled eyes, but she hardened her stare that the former free woman as she composed herself. Corw, however, as most Assassins did, made a slight shiver run up her spine; Sleen didn’t because she was used to him and came to trust him. Crow was new to her. She said nothing further to him as he was in conversation with the regent, so she took a seat and helped Eustacius up next to her. Sage woke up and began fussing. “Oh, now you want to wake up and tell me you’re hungry.” she commented with a light chuckle, picking up the bottle she prepared for the baby.

[11:02] Crow liked it when business was being to the point. Why waste time in sugarcoating things when one wanted to deal with things instantly. For some reason the request got him by surprise. Clearly after recent events he figured other questions. A brow arched than. “Of course you can count on me.” he replied to the point. He would look below to his slave and noted that she tried to hide herself behind her hands. “Bracelets.” he tells her. She was new to the collar and with it needed instructions. He enjoyed to teach them as to present themselves as beautiful as they could. He felt a strange sense of pride when the slave eventually would do his bidding with a small gesture or snap of his fingers. “Your travel. Does it need any attention, assistance. You must know that in our caste some carry weight while others do not.” it was all to close to a message of comradship as it would get from Crow. He could hear Lyra towards his slave and would pay attention as to how she would deal with the scene. Clearly this must have her realize how dreadful she had been with the mother of Eustachius back than.

[11:03] Kassandra entered the room, and with a bow she gave, “Greetings, my Master, Master, Mystress.” She angled her gaze, canted it even slowly to the side with pensive brow of recognition. Only… to settle into a rather satisfied smirk. Though saying nothing. She’d totally save that for later.

[11:06] Sleen winked over at Kassandra as she appeared. “Tal, Kass. See that people are served”. He observed the entirety of the scene before him while focused on Crow. “Good, then. I’ve made point to set the entrance to private location elsewhere, barring the tunnel to the palace since the position of Regent will belong to someone else during my absence”, he explained while pulling a scroll that was stretched in his direction. It contained the names of all that were engendered in contract still or about to expire as well as the placement of new door. “I need nothing for my travel other than my brain. I am thankful for the thought, though”.

[11:07] Hinder still in;t look back even as Lyra replied. The mighty had fallen but no one would truly understand or likely ever hear the full truth of her demise. Her own ignorance to the woman presence broke when a small child was heard, her head snatched finally to search the woman out but it was her young son she noticed first. Oh did her heart break instantly and shatter into a million pieces. She was doing well until her gaze came to lay on Sage. Tears filled her eyes an she turn back away. More for the sake of the toddler seeing her, not for her own benefit If there was ever a reason to move closer to Crow, it was this right here but he broke that idea as he snapped his fingers again and barked another command. Her tear filled gaze lifted to him before she did as told and spreads those chunky thighs with resistance to move her hands from her snatch. Eventually she did and tucked them behind her back out of the way.

[11:08] Kassandra stepped over towards Lyra, and wriggled her fingers at Eustachius she smiled at the little guy. Having come to rather like the little free man despite his trashing the garden. “Would you need anything, Mistress?” She asked her, knowing she were tasked with their upbringing. She & Balder having cared for them briefly the evening before.

[11:14] Lyra Sophitia Aurelia gave a nod to Kassandra, her hands full with a baby. She looked at Hinder, although she still knew her as Serena, as the embonded woman looked, perhaps instinctively, at the sound of a baby’s cry. Such, she knew, was natural and well ingrained into maternal instinct. She then looked down at the feeding newborn, holding the bottle firmly yet gently, knowing the stomach of a baby was about the size of a walnut and she’d stop eating when she was full, she should be shortly. “A spare rep cloth. Go into my clinic for it.” she ordered Kassandra, indicating the door behind her and to the left with her head. She then listened to the goings on. “Eustachius, sit still please…” she added firmly and quietly to the toddler.

[11:14] Crow would reach out to take the scroll and have it stored in one of the pockets in his belt. “The mind is always the most important thing – It means one is never disarmed.” he replied. He would reach down and unlocked the leash from the collar. Again a test. Since as he did his eyes would be upon hers. He could see the emotion and for a moment there was perhaps that glimmer of what once was. “I will see to it and have things set. When is your plan to travel?” he asks – casual conversation ? Oh no …. just there to see if one dared to question his presence. Who ever thought something – he dared to speak when he lifted his chin in a pose of superiority. “See that you help, Hinder.” the name was clearly something he had thought out carefully.

[11:17] Sleen watched the scroll leave his hands as well as the heavy title and couldn’t help but smile faintly at the moment that was, in fact, relived for they had done that switch before, only that Marlenus was exiled then. “I’m thinking about tomorrow. I am still wrapping up some businesses regarding governmental issues before I can go with a focused mind”.

[11:19] Kassandra ran off to grab rep cloth, was absolutely positive the new one would ralph but over Lyra’s robe, only because she had suffered the same fate the day before. It was… enlightening, to say the least. She returned with as much speed as she departed with and tried to settled the cloth over her shoulder. Kassandra reached out for Eustachius and gave his head the imitating of cracking an egg over his his. Closed fingers at the scalp, and then tap at the back of the hand just to spread her fingertips slowly.

[11:19] Lyra Sophitia Aurelia looked up as Marlenus entered and offered him a courteous, respectful nod. This was her boss and arguably the most powerful Human being on the planet by her reckoning. “Tal, My Ubar.” said she. Eustachius had looked up at him, too. “Meet Sage Livia.” she offered, looking down to the newborn cradled in her arms, still feeding from the bottle of artificial breastmilk formula Lyra held for her.

[11:20] Sleen looked suddenly. “Sage, like the red headed kajirus? Strange choice of name”.

[11:22] Hinder could only heard the sound of the toddler fussing and the baby suckling ut of everything going on in the room. And the feel of him unleashing her only brought her out of that daze. She met his gaze and looked at him wth deep and raw emotion in her eyes. ” Help with…” She said in a confused and emotional tone. Lyra was testing her, not even she could be this cruel but she turned her off in her mind and wouldn’t;t rise to the bait. She valued her life, other wise she’d of taken the option of death and the cowards way out. Her eyes snap shut to take a moment to compose herself.

[11:24] Kassandra looked over herself to see the arrival of Marlenus. She bowed to him a moment whilst trying to distract Eustachius, “Tal, my Master.”

[11:25] Marlenus had finished outlining certain state changes, consolidating Imperium into the council, and disbanding departments of state authority earlier in the morning in the offices after receiving multiple sources of consulting. After having sent that out, he had gone up to the chamber of the Home Stone where he had ruminated on the direction of the Empire. Upon such time in meditation, the guards there had placed raiment about his shoulders and the golden diadem of laurels upon his brow before he descended once again to the ground floor of the Central Cylinder palace. Upon arrival, the doors were drawn upon by guards, but they did not announce his arrival with the clanging of spears due to the presence of children. Marlenus looked about and noticed first Sleen who was handing over the mantle of his position to whom he assumed to be Crow. There was a flash of a toothy smile to the Regent before he turned his attention to Lyra who greeted him.
“Tal, Chirurgeon,” Marlenus said as he stepped closer to see the newborn infant in her arms. The Larl placed his fingers lightly to the infant’s crown while it ate and he said, “May the Priest-Kings bless and keep this joy, Sage Livia.”
Afterwards, he winked at Kassandra who was with Eustachius. “Keeping busy, I see, hmm, First Girl?” he inquired rhetorically with a chuckle, then turned to walk towards the thrones. Only after ascending to the dais and turning to face the room did he catch the face of Crow himself and, an unveiled, naked, and kneeling slave who was once Serena.
Marlenus was not surprised, for he had been warned ahead of time, so he beheld them both for a time. Now was the Assassin who stood before them, and he afforded the man such respect, “Tal, Killer.”

[11:26] Crow would turn slightly when Marlenus entered. If there was a dip of his head it was a minor gesture. Crow was nothing like the ruse of the Censor. There was no longer the friendly or charming scribe but the killer that was a sharp observer that measured different scenarios to which he needed to act. He would nudge Hinder with his boot to comply – he did not like to repeat himself. “Greetings, Ubar.” he offered – very much aware that if there was a scale of torture it reached the level of angst for his new slave. He seemed to be cold to what transpired behind him. The family man – not showing – only the cold hearted killer.

[11:29] Hinder heard that voice and if she thought her heart had broken before… now i was ten times worse. She kept her eyes pinched closed the whole time Marlenus spoke with the baby and Lyra. she had to do this, get it out of the way.. She’s explained the situation thoroughly in her own letter she’d been allowed to write, so he knew.. Slowly her teary peepers pry open and are following him to the throne.

[11:30] Sleen smiled lopsidedly at Marlenus who clearly seemed happy. “Tal, Ubar”, he said politely in front of Crow. “Now Kassandra is the First of what, considering how the Gardens became public under Cassius and no longer a part the House of Marlenus? Certainly there will be state owned palace slaves. Is she to reign upon those and organize them?”, he wondered as that was one of the untied loops before he went. He could tell that Lyra was being somewhat cruel and he nodded in her direction. “Around naked slave is no place for toddlers, Lyra”.

[11:37] Kassandra glanced over, and were slightly shocked with the news. Then of course there were the facts spoken the other day at the Throne. First Girl of One. Queen Nothing. She’d paused at Sleen’s scolding, she backed up slightly away from the. Thinking Sleen had meant her.

[11:38] Lyra Sophitia Aurelia shrugged. “The little girl’s mother chose the name.” said she. “Had it been my choice, I might have named her Cassiopeia or something.” she commented. She smiled as Marlenus bestowed his blessing on the girl. She accepted the rep cloth, placing it over her shoulder after Sage turned away from the bottle’s nipple. She used the existing one in the sling to wipe her little face of milk residue gently and then lifted her up, placing her over the rep cloth on her shoulder. She then gently patted her on the back until she burped. Eustachius seemed to watch his uncle before slipping down from the bench next to Lyra. “Eustachius, be careful. Wait until your uncle sits down.” she instructed. It had been a while since her mom-voice was heard by others outside of pediatric visits. She wasn’t being cruel on purpose. The Ubar should see his nephew and new niece, though. As for being around slaves, especially half-naked ones, her brows lofted a bit. Weren’t all Goreans exposed to such constantly from their earliest days? But, she wouldn’t argue with that. She rose. “I wish you well.” said she. “Eustachius, come along.” said she as she headed toward the clinic door, bumping it open with her hip, as her hands were full still.

[11:39] Crow would only now slightly turn. Deep within the man was something stirred. If there had been different choices. Different events. He would have enjoyed the sight upon his children. He would want a full house. With this knowledge he knew he could have it all and yet his sense of following codes and the long training of becoming what he was – made him cold to the scene. Or let us be honest – one could hardly tell there was something stirred. Although he did not wish to interrupt the conversation between Sleen and the Ubar he did – “Ubar, I understand you received my missive. Are there any questions?” he asks – certain as to face all what could endanger his position within Ar to what had transpired.
[11:40] Hinder gaze slid over to Sleen as he addressed the woman tormenting her. There was relief and thanks upon her face. Even as well as she was holding it together this was cruel, even she’d kept the child the had adopted from his actual mother to try and ease her heartache. She did tho realize that in some circumstances a slave could hold much more power than a free woman. She was learning fast, mainly on the job and with each situation she was being cast into but the former free woman was picking up on things fast.

[11:43] Marlenus reached up and he unbrooched the cloak of his caste to let it fall and drape back across the throne before he settled down upon it and he looked across the room with a steady gaze before turning his attention to Sleen and he said, “Kassandra is First Girl of the state slaves of Ar. She will be their guide and their exemplar.” This was a simple proclamation, his heavy baritone easily carried throughout the room.
Turning his eyes upon Crow and Hinder once again, he took in the sight. He memorized it, etched it into his mind, tattooed it into his brain. Marlenus was, indeed, in a pleasant mood, despite the changes standing in the room. “Killer -” he said to Crow, “- I give you and your caste the freedom to hold your court in Ar, and your internal affairs will not be under the scrutiny of the throne. I wish you success and much gold in your endeavors. I have no questions, if the Regent has already settled matters.”
“Slave girl,” he said to Hinder, “Kajira. You are now the property of this Assassin. The
woman you once were has been obliterated from existence. It will be interesting to see what duties you will be performing within the steel of a Killer. I wish for you the contentment and the happiness of your steel, freedom within it from the worries and woes of the world, and the knowledge and wit to obey in accordance to this man’s expectations.”
Marlenus then lifted his hands to the departure of the children and Lyra and he called, “Don’t break too much in the clinic, Eustachius! But, here’s a tip – ask Auntie Lyra what’s a colonoscopy.”

[11:48] Crow would watch Lyra leave and turn when Marlenus spoke. “Excellent.” he replied to the point to the court and such. The fact they were not under the scrutiny of the throne was a welcome development. Of course Marlenus could still count upon Crows steel – part of his assignment had not changed. He would be here – in trust – but with the understanding of his knowledge. When Marlenus spoke to Hinder he would gesture to her as to speak freely – a gesture that was not done out of kindness. But he was a killer not a torturer.

[11:50] Sleen nodded at all the ongoings that seemed to settle situations and said simply. “It’s resolved between me and him, yes”. He went through his mental list of things to do and passed to Marlenus a singular key that would fit the collars of his slaves. “A gift to your future intended if you please”, he stated plainly as he would indeed travel very light. “I am simply now awaiting to inform Shansia but I suppose you could do that for me as well as grant her position”.

[11:51] Kassandra approached as Marlenus was sitting. She heard his declaration, but then Sleen told her to serve. So she did. “Would my Master like anything to drink, Falarian perhaps?” She asked, “A cushion for the hardness of the Throne?” She wondered really how they could sit on them for lengths at a time. She wondered for a moment if they chose no cushions purposely. The mention of Shansia had brought light to a question held for over a hand.

[11:52] Erik Typhon moves into the palace room out of boredness and shrugs at the words he hears about assassin people doing stuff, for he always thought it was a legend of some sort. Feeling it’s not really his business he lay himself into the room, simply observing while crossing his arms.

[11:52] Hinder eyes came back to lay on Marlenus as he spoke to Crow, her shoulders sagged down as the tension left the room. She didn’t dare look back, her farewells had been made to the children a few nights prior. People would judge, belittle her and relish in her situation and she’d deal with it in her own way. Likely silently not to give others the upper hand. She was a wise old fool and that would never ever change. That teary gaze homed in on the ubar as he spoke to her fully. There was comfort in those words, no judging her, scorning her or making her feel like shit as others were trying so hard to do. She needed that from him and it actually brought a smile to her face. ” Thank you. I shall do everything i can Master.” She said.. How hard she thought it was going to be to call him that, she’s made up so many dreadful scenarios but it didn’t hurt one bit.

[11:59] Kara hobbles into the throne room to join the clinic. She bows to the throne, the ubar and the people he’s talking to, deferentially… and clearly with fearful nervousness. What she sees… no, seriously, it frightens her enough to overcome the grip of her mind, still animated by joy and pleasure. She prefers to slip away discreetly, and when she sees Alcyone her face lights up with a huge smile, and she limps towards her.

[11:59] Crow gave a quick glance between both men. He would lower his gaze for the briefest of moments “Than I wish you good travel.” he tells Sleen and moved his gaze from his slave as she spoke to Marlenus “And you good fortune with the new developments.” with that he would turn and slightly take the side of the room. He would watch if the interaction between the slave and the Ubar was finalized. It was a one time affair. Eventually she would be trained to the finer art of her slavery.

[12:00] Marlenus turned his attention to Sleen and he leaned forward to take the key that was passed to him and he looked at it a moment before he closed his fingers around the key in a fist. He clenched it tightly while he stared at Sleen. “We will also take some time tonight to talk before you depart for your trip, or however many days you desire,” he said to Sleen with a faint smile. “I am certain my future intended will appreciate the gift.” He withdrew his wallet and placed the key within before he stowed the wallet away once more.
He then smirked as Kassandra offered cushion for the thrones and his eyes grew mirthful, squinting at their corners. “Nothing for myself, Kassandra. And you no longer call me your master. Properties of the House of Marlenus have been transferred to the state. Now all men of Ar are your masters.”
Marlenus turned his eyes back to Crow and to Hinder and when the girl said she will do everything she could, he gave her a slow nod of his head. He turned his attention to Crow and said to the Assassin, “The page has turned, and a new chapter begins. Before anybody starts with some kind of bureaucratic nonsense, your caste are exempt from all tithes and taxations, and your court and its environs are provided freely with no ties and no obligations, Killer. Assassins have the right to exist and ply their trade.”
He gave Crow a nod of his head as business was conducted and then he saw that Erik had approached. He lifted a hand to beckon the man forward.

[12:04] Kassandra nodded to him simply, “Yes, Master.” Said she. Words regarding caste and such were over her consideration so it were like fluid through her mind. In one ear and out of the other. She glanced between the two. Marlenus & Sleen, a thought. She turned thinking to go help Lyra with Eustachius and Sage.

[12:05] Hinder tears seemed to stop now the children were out of the room and there was acceptance to her siltation by those who did and still do matter to her. She was interested in this news of an indented but of course kept it to herself. As Crow moved, automatically she did too. Closer to him, to find the comfort she craved and far closer than she’s ever been as Mel and Serena.

[12:07] Erik Typhon moves forward when beaconed over, quietly, looking at the women fleeing toward the palace corridors, then toward the three men at the throne. “Tal Ubar. I heard the crier speaking of a lot of changes in the city.” he tries hard to resist the urge to scratch his butt.

[12:07] Crow would reach down and have the leash attached to her collar. “Come mine” he offered – He did not say his farewell. He had done his business and with it he was done. He would move further to leave the room. There was something he needed to do now she had faced this scene in a way that was commendable.

[12:08] Sleen nodded at his request to speak before he would leave his position. “Of course. We will talk before I go”. He listened with gratitude the leeway granted towards his Caste even if no longer tied to government. He dipped his chin politely as Erik was summoned forth, simply listening for the time being.
[12:09] Hinder gave one more fleeting look to Marlenus and a offered a smile to Sleen next.” Safe travels Master..” She uttered to him before they took their leave.

Using rank

Posted in Black Caste with tags , , , on December 21, 2009 by crow1971

Most know the lonely killer, lurking in the shadows. The one that doesn’t sit down for pleasant conversations about the weather or the new bought slave. They have this tendency to only be there, listening and observing while others seem to busy them selves with things of ordinary life.  This vision of a killer, might suit me when you encounter me in the streets of Salernum, Laura, Lydius or any other place a mark might take me.

However when I am in the comfort of the compound you might see a more relaxed man, one that might joke, tells stories. A man that feels the same amount of pride in his new bought slave, or accomplished task. The compound is a well organized place, where each knows his place, the slaves busy with the things that need to be done, candidates do their study or work on their progression.

To keep this place organized we keep a very strict order on discipline and rank. The Master Assassin our general, that delegates and gives a final say in the decisions that need to be made. The captain that again delegates, works on several things to keep order in what at times seems chaos. He might be the one that knows of what goes on, sees to it that only the important matters reach the Master Assassin and is there to teach candidates or guides them to those killers that can.

A rank has it’s privileges, but also the heartship. The Master Assassin, lots of scrolls, political issues to deal with and me the one that sees a candidate overstep his lines or a killer behaving poorly. Things that will be addressed and not with velvet gloves.  The times a candidate was simply beaten to unconsciousness because he ordered paga, to many to count. The Killer beaten with sticks for falling in love and acting out on those feelings in an ill manner to large to even count on my fingers.

We are all human, making mistakes and those will not be covered by silk but will be exposed and dealt with in the same order and discipline.

I always strive to be fair, straight forward, perhaps harsh and demanding but nevertheless fair. I don’t try to be guided by my own feelings of anger, disappointment or disliking. Everyone that will cross lines that I have set will see the same treatment or so I hope.

Aware of my harsh reputation, aware of my mindplay, aware of my bad jokes, aware of what still has remained as this believe in honour and also aware of the burden of using a rank.

Ranks

Posted in Black Caste with tags , , , on October 13, 2009 by crow1971

Never have I felt that I needed to have some sort of rank, to know who I was or what I was about. When I was approached to be Lieutenant I was honoured, perhaps in a way felt acknowledged for what I did in training those that were in the guild. I have taken it and carried it as it was, a mere sign that some of the tasks were coming my way. The rank didn’t make me different, they didn’t show me that I was better it only showed others what they could expect from me.

When I received the rank of captain, it was in many ways the same way. The rank on itself only a position, with more demands and responsibility. Nothing more and nothing less, as far I am concerned.

However with the rank I understood that some might take me as an example and became therefor more aware that my knowledge and act should be flawless.

I know that the next rank might be Master Assassin, a rank many killers wish to achieve or even claim. In my humble opinion often to early and unaware that this rank is for those that will be judged severely when they act badly or breach the codes.  Nothing after that rank will come and only those that are the best in the caste should hold that position.

For now I don’t feel I can hold it in the same glory as Serpent or Sol do. I even feel that when they still breath, although the breath of Sol might be no longer, there is no reason for me to even consider the claim of that rank.

I serve the Cast, the gold and Steel, in the best of my abilities and as long as I am allowed and until the position become vacant, I won’t make my claim. If and I hope the time will be far in the future that this position becomes vacant I can only say that the caste would be served best if the spot would be filled with that killer that is the best for it at that time.

So when you see me … call me captain … as the rank is well earned and carried with its burdens and obligations, but don’t see me as a Master Assassin, since that moment has not yet arrived.
