[04:05:17] Osric Mahalah (salagudin): Osric smiled toward Kaci, understanding more than most what a dark past could teach a man – “Those of us who’ve walked darker roads can sometimes serve the light better fer knowing exactly what waits beyond it, Kaci. One thing in me has never changed – loyalty tae those I pledge me steel, care and love tae.” His expression became more solemn – “I know the people of Skull Island well. Part of me history was written there, and I’ll nae deny it. But the Commander convinced me there was another road worth walking, and I freely swore a new oath as a Warrior of Valaris. I carry that oath with new purpose now.” His gaze moved between Rex and Kaci – “Me fiercest weapon isnae the sword at me hip – it’s loyalty. Skull Island already knows that about Osric Mahalah. Me brothers and the people of Valaris will learn it soon enough.”
[04:08:47] Crow (melchior.wardell) was a man with reason. Nothing was done just because he felt like it. Although the regular fuck of a slave, might be considered such. If he would fly his tarn, it was with the reason of the benefits of being up in the sky. He hadn’t yet seen many of the men in the air. So he wondered how many tarnsmen they would have. Not that it mattered to him. Even if the city was defenseless, it mattered little. The only thing that would come of it is – more work. He had seen the man in the sand and had been curious. He had not seen another that would test the mans steel. But as he flew lower he picked up the words of the man in the sand. And only now seeing that there were others he spoke to. Ironic that the conversation was about the darker roads and how they can serve the light. It was exactly what Crow believed. What he lived. HE could see the tapestry on the right side while others only noted the lose threads on the other side and judged him because of that.
[04:10:22] Kaci Mercury (kaci.claw) paused for a moment, stiffening ever so slightly as Osric spoke. She took a moment or two before she answered, sometimes that was needed. “Well, I do not speak ill of all the people, nor do I speak ill of Harry Horchester. But I have had several meetings with him, in the past he has made it clear he intends to capture me. maybe he has a new fancy now though, but I am not sure I will eve fully trust that man and his motivations.” she ended there, although there was a lot more that could clearly be seen between the lines that Kaci had spoken. She glanced to Rex, knowing Rex had thwarted one possible attempt at Port Talis. She then glance dup, stepping back as she saw the tarn approaching. “Well, I guess someone knows how to make an entrance.” she chuckled.
[04:14:33] Rex Mercury listened to Osric and Kaci speaking to one another, smiling at Kaci when she looked at him. Proud of his companion as always, his hand still on the small of her back as it moved slowly up and down as he listened. “I feel like this city will do well, the caste as well.” Looking up hearing the sound of wings or doing his best to look up at the man on top of his tarn. “It does seem so.” he agreed with Kaci and smiled. “Tal sir.” he called out to the man on the tarn before looking back to Osric. “I feel any path we lead will either teach us or not, it is our job to take it as something to learn from, good and bad times do that to us. Make us stronger, most of the time.” Chuckled some and smiled.
[04:16:44] Osric Mahalah (salagudin): Osric had noticed the tarn before Kaci finished speaking, his eyes tracking its approach while the rider remained impossible to identify – “Harry’s intentions are worth remembering, Kaci, but nae judging before he acts. Loyalty doesnae require blindness – it requires vigilance.” His attention snapped fully upward as the tarn crossed above them without warning. Three bolts were already in his hand and another seated loudly into the crossbow, the deliberate sound announcing that Valaris’ Captain was ready – “Interesting. Whoever rides that beast has reached our airspace without challenge or warning.” His stance settled, crossbow held ready but not yet raised – “News travels fast when something is worth hearing… but right now I care less about who rides that tarn than how easily they reached us. – “Rex the Commander needs tae know we’ve just discovered another hole in our security.”
[04:20:19] Crow (melchior.wardell) was a good observer and listener. It was his trade to know and to see things. It was far more extended than any kind of murder. The whispers that fed him, made him powerful. Surely as he was a Master in diplomatic warfare. Perhaps his upbringing as a tarnsman destined to become Ubar, was not completely lost to the assassin. The name Harry gave him a raised brow. The man was a bastard. A greedy one too. It had always surprised that his name was never paid for. He wouldn’t truly interfere in the conversation. It was not his. But than he was addressed. His tarn held him steady as it flapped his wings as to keep a steady pose within the air. “Greetings.” he offered in return. The voice one of age and experience. Perhaps even with that edge of authority he had gained over time. He had seen the bolts loaded and he grinned. “I fear your position allows me to be quickly out of view …. No need to be afraid, Rarius. I have no ill intentions.” he chuckled darkly. “My tarn needs to simply spreads its wings.”
[04:25:47] Kaci Mercury (kaci.claw) raised her eyes ot the tarn, they always unnerved her more so when they came from nowhere, she decided she should shush up with the words she was speaking, the man may be friendly but even the friendliest of people had allies they kept quiet. She took a few more steps back. “Yes, definitely a tarn issue here.” she gestured and laughed. “If you wish Sir, you could come down and join us.”
[04:27:29] Rex Mercury listened and watch as Osric pulled his crossbow out and began to load it. Though he figured if the man was going to attack, he would have already done so. But his hand would move to his bow just in case it was needed as he stood watch and listened to the man as he spoke to Osric. Nodding in agreement with Osric and also Kaci as they spoke of the tarn issue. “I agree. The city does seem to have some things that need to be dealt with.” At Kacis’ offering for him to come down and join them, figuring that was a good idea to see who this man was as they could not at the time.
[04:28:46] Tira (mas6664) slips back quietly but there was a shadow on the sands and she looked up seeing the tarn, the dappled colouring on its underside, fascinating, she loved to ride tarns but they can be very scary when on the ground , she stays low on her knees for now in case is desended
[04:31:43] Osric Mahalah (salagudin): Osric kept the crossbow ready, eyes following the tarn rather than accepting the spectacle at face value – “Nae, Kaci. I dinnae think that entrance was about meeting us. A man seeking conversation lands at the gate and walks inside. Flying unchallenged over Valaris shows him what our defences can and cannae stop.” – His gaze swept the open sky – “I’ve yet tae see a Valaris Warrior patrolling these skies on a war tarn. We have baskets carrying people upward, yet apparently nothing guarding what comes down. That’s nae merely a tarn problem, Rex… that’s a weakness, and someone just demonstrated it beautifully.” – Osric heard the age and confidence in the rider’s voice, but neither loosened his stance nor lowered the crossbow. He shifted several paces, seeking a clearer angle while keeping Kaci and Rex behind the line of fire – “Afraid? Nae, stranger. Merely prepared.” His eyes measured tarn and rider together, calculating distance and movement – “Ye may be quick enough tae vanish from sight, aye – but even a tarn must spread its wings before it leaves, and perhaps the Priest Kings would favour one of me bolts finding beast or rider before then.” Still he did not fire, discipline holding where instinct might once have acted – “Ye claim peaceful intent, so I’ll grant ye the chance tae prove it. Take yer tarn and leave Valaris airspace. Return through our skies unannounced again and I’ll consider the act hostile.” His crossbow remained ready as he watched the stranger – “Danger seems tae creep closer tae this city by the day. Captain Osric intends tae make certain it learns where our boundaries lie.”
[04:33:13] Crow (melchior.wardell) grinned at the invite, but shook his head. He had no intent to interrupt any conversation nor intrude there where he wasn’t wanted. He was man of caste. A man that would stick to rules, regulations. And of course his codes. That those were of murder was well known. “I doubt I would bring much ‘fun’ to the conversation, lady.” he called out. “We are not known to socialize.” he stated in truth. Of course he wasn’t a fool and ready for if a shot would be fired. His tarn was well trained and a loyal companion for ages now. A small push with his foot, or a small tug to the reigns would have her instantly take flight again. “I will let you be … and no need to thank me for those insights when it comes to security.” with that he even laughed. Those that stated Killers had no sense of humor – clearly had not met him. “Be well.” he offered while he would pull the reigns and have the tarn take flight once more. Perhaps only having a feather float down to land before the slave. The words of the rarius were noted but not addressed. Perhaps it was a case of – having to be one to understand one – and yet …. his light was different than his.
